Crocs, blisters & body glide, oh my!!!

I LOVE my Crocs. I am a nurse, and I am on my feet 12-14 hours at a time, and never, ever, have foot fatigue when I wear them. I have New Balance sneakers that feel great when I put them on but after 8-10 hours they are tight and don't feel good. I was chicken to try the Crocs in the parks but last time I was there I wore them the last day and OHMYGOSH. Heaven.
I also swear by Bodyglide, and ALWAYS slather my feet with it at Disney. I used to get blisters between and under my toes. Not so much as a hotspot since I discovered Bodyglide.
I tried Bodyglide with Crocs once (no socks). Thinking, best of both worlds. NOT. It felt gooey and slimy.
BUT: Crocs + socks + Bodyglide = foot bliss.

My friends and I call that "chub rub!":rotfl: As for the issue of blisters, spray deoderant works really well (another tip we got from the dis) because it stops your feet from sweating and therefore minimizes if not eliminates blisters. DH and I always bring it with us on our Disney trips and we never have blisters from walking. Moleskin, as someone else mentioned is great for hot spots too, but if you decide to use deoderant on your feet, you have to put the moleskin on first or it won't stick. :goodvibes

After reading all the rave reviews, I broke down & bought a pair of Blue Caymans the other day & wore them to work. I gotta say, they are the most comfortable shoes i've ever worn & look forward to July so I can get my Pirates Beach ones so I can take them both with me to WDW in September. Crocs may look ugly to some but i'd wear them over any other pair of shoes I own because they fit so well. I have wide feet so it's hard to find shoes anyways plus I have minor gout which makes it hard to wear my dress shoes to work. So new plan, wear Crocs all day & when I leave my area, i'll slip on the dress shoes so I can handle being on my feet for 12 hours at a time.

I did a "test trial" for Disney by wearing my Disney Crocs at an amusement park last weekend. They were fantastic! No blisters and my feet didn't hurt at the end of the day. :)

Definetely size your Crocs appropriately, get a size bigger than you think. You don't want them snug to your feet.

Good advice ...

We have been a serious crocs family for about 3 years now (thanks to these boards). We absolutely love them and this winter I ordered and wore the "closed" style most of the year (love crocs w/socks!). :goodvibes

If they are just a bit snug ... they advise giving the ankle strap a bit of a stretch. I find this helps to prevent my toes from pressing against the front.

does body glide make your feet slippery? I just got a pair of scutes; I'd like to try bodyglide, but I don't want my feet to slide right out of them

Hi
I love the Scutes. I used Bodyglide last summer and my feet felt really sticky, but the stickiness wore off and my feet were great all day. I don't really remember my feet slipping around. I plan to use it again next week, but the shoes are so comfortable, I don't really know if I'll need the Bodyglide.

well, I just wore the new scutes for a walk around the block. comfortable until I had to cross wet grass, and then they felt rather slippery. I'm hoping I didn't get them too small. (I wear a women's 7.5 and got a Scute sz 8. The 9s were like boats.)

How tight are yours across the top of your foot?

that stuff is AMAZING!!! We used it with Crocs last week. I am always getting blisters from my shoes- not a single red/hot spot the entire trip!! I really recommend it! We applied it in the am & it lasted the whole day. :thumbsup2
