Crocodiles Coming back to Disney

How do you feel about this

I chose about time but that almost implies that I think it took them too long. I'm not sure that conveys my true feeling which is that I think the timing is about right.

Ill add that choice...forgot that one

I never thought it made any sense to remove anything but that one JC joke. I guessed in other threads that they'd all be back within weeks. People move on much more quickly than it might feel in the immediate wake of any tragedy. Just human nature.

of course the incident that happened last month was terrible, but i believe it is about time Disney took out the crocs.

i feel like that incident wouldn't have the effect it had tbh, and they should've taken them out a week or two after, but everyone is different.

I questioned why they would take them out. Well, other than the joke on JC.

And I know most people will say that it was in deference to the family.

But the family went home. They weren't at the parks. Chances are they were avoiding anything mentioning Disney.

I imagine it's so that they don't get faces pulled at it, or gasps or comments.

Right now I'm in mourning because a friend died. 44 years old, had a sudden aneurysm, was OK going into the hospital, over the next two days had mltiple strokes and went into a coma (not medically induced). I visited 3 times last week. And it's astonishing how often we say things like "that's killing me" or one of her coworkers said "but she has half my brain, she can't go" which is a joke about brains, and just how OFTEN we make jokes about not thinking (calling ourselves brain dead), etc. You hear those things (coming from yourself and others) for "real" when you're dealing with something like this, and it's shocking.

BUT...for all those times you stop yourself, or others stop themselves, the silence still says it. So at the parks ONLY the people who have never been there or been on the particular ride or seen the particular parade/show will not notice it. Everyone else is filling in the gaps. Therefore, the only people they are ultimately doing it for are the newbies.

And because I have no filter, I'll just say that it's weird that the "joke" from JC was pulled because I've never really taken it as a joke. It's the absolute truth. Good warning. Goes along with their signs. Turns out they were warning us this whole time.

(unless we're talking about the Ginger snaps joke...although that's true, too.)

What's a bit ironic about the LwtL removal is that those crocs never got a mention as part of the narration, as I recall. They were just . . . . there. If there was one I would not expect to be changed, it would have been that one.

And also the child wasn't attacked by a crocodile.
Obviously this is a real sticking point for me.
