I called just to ask about FDP and the CRO said to book my room right now and then call back Monday morning and change to the Visa Code. His words were "there is no official announcement yet". So we have exactly what we want! POR Bldg. 14.

He did try to insist we buy 1 day park ticket but I told him it was not required. After he checked with guest services he confirmed that I was correct.

We also got ADR at LeCellier! I love FDP!

Question ~ are you booked with the AP Dine pkg. that is the only pkg. you do not have to add tickets to.You do not have to have a ticket to book a room only. The free dining is free dining for the MYW pkg. In order to have a pkg. you will need at least a 1 day base ticket. When you call Mon. you will get free dining on a pkg. you will book then and you will have to cancel the room-only and get a refund for that. Her are pkg. requierments

Disney’s Magic Your Way Package – The base package helps you experience the magic of a Walt Disney World vacation at an affordable rate. The package includes accommodations at a Disney-owned-and-operated resort hotel, and Magic Your Way base tickets for everyone in the group.

Everyone in the room must be booked on the same package and ticket options

This is the info for the AP dine and it is the only pkg that does not require a ticket

Walt Disney World Annual Passholder Package with Dining - As of late February 2008, Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can purchase a special vacation package that includes either the standard Dining Plan or the Deluxe Dining Plan. The Dining Plans are not discounted with this package. The room rate on the Annual Passholder Package is not always discounted, but during certain times of year, a discount may be offered. This package does not include admission tickets, since obviously Annual Passholders don't need that component of a vacation package.

Yes, sorry, forgot to include that we are AP holders. I just found it strange that they told me to book it now, not to wait until Monday.

Actually it is a good thing because I have realized that I really should not go to Disney until I can pay $.

Cool! I was wondering though how you know for sure that you have building 14 if they don't assign rooms till you check in? I was just wondering because I have always requested certain buildings but have never gotten my request. They always say that requests are just that and not guaranteed. I'm always fine with whatever I get but just wanted to know if there was a trick to it.

Thanks!

I also have AP dine pkg. booked and did he hint that we will not have to add that base ticket when the free dining comes out ?

We have allways gotten what we wanted. I think the trick is to book as early as possible and put your requests on at that time. Limit yourself to one request and that is far more easily done that multiple requests. Another thing I do is act all excited when checking in ( I know its awful ) and when they lay the map out to show us where we are going I ask in what area are you putting us.When they show you say is there any way we could be put in X (with really sad puppy dog eyes). Usually they will then offer you other things if you were not put in the location you requested. Never! Never! Never say "we requested", I never bring that up just hint like we would like a different area and be willing to wait for the area you want.

Yes, if you have the AP you no longer need to buy the 1 day base ticket. When you call for FDP, make sure they don't just add it on. I was sure of this and the CRO didn't know. So we waited the 5 minutes on hold while he did in fact verify that we don't need to buy the base ticket. Again, make sure they don't add it on.

For room requests on bldgs. I agree, just put it in early and ask specifically for what you want. I asked for bldg 14 but we also have a medical reason for ground floor and closer to main area.

Sounds like the CM I had last year. She too insisted that I prepurchase my room package so I could just add the DDP on. So I did, and my dates were not part of the package, so I canceled. I do find it hard to believe that you won't have to purchase the one day ticket. How does the CM know that you are an AP holder? Will we have to give them my AP ID? This should be interesting to read all of the different scenarios on Monday. I'll be busy at work that day, so will hopefully catch up on the threads throughout the day. Since my dates, again, are not included I won't be participating. The only good thing is that for me, my stay at POP should not be too crazy in August, since no one staying there will have the free DDP.

Thanks for the tips! I will try that this year cause we would really love building 14 or 18 for a change. The grounds are beautiful and we are at Disney so I'll be happy with anything of course. Have a great trip!

Building 14 and 15 sound special, why? Is it closer to the main bulding and busses?????

This is a very interesting thread. OP- please update on Monday to keep us informed re:not buying the 1 day ticket for free dining. Does everyone in the room have to have an AP?

It appears different CMs are giving different information. When I booked at PORS the other day, the CM made a comment that AP holders can now buy the DDP without having to buy a one day ticket and tried to push me to go ahead and buy the DDP without a one day ticket. As soon as I told him I was waiting for free dining he immediately said that changed things and at least a one day park ticket would be required for everyone including AP holders. I asked him if he was sure and he said yes, that the Free Dining was part of a Magic Your Way offer and even AP holders would be required to pay rack rate for the room and would also have to buy at least one day MYW tickets. I booked PORS with one day MYW tickets, but told him to hold off on the DDP and I would call when free dining was offered. By the way, I also requested building 14 (for medical reasons).

After reading this post today, I called to get clarification and to cancel the one day tickets. The very nice and seemingly knowledgeable CM I got today again insisted that while AP holders could buy the DDP without buying tickets, that the MYW free dining offer was a totally different ball of wax, having nothing to do with the AP DDP offer, and that everyone in the room had to have at least a one day MYW ticket. I told him that I had read where someone had been told AP holders would not have to buy the one day ticket. He said he would double check his info and then he put me on hold so long I thought he had forgotten me. He finally came back and told me he had checked with two supervisors and that they had checked with a couple of people in guest services and every one of them said that yes, AP holders would be required to buy at least a one day MYW ticket in order to get free dining. He reiterated that I could always buy a one day MYW ticket now in order to get free dining, then if an AP code came out later that would be better, I could cancel, get the AP code and then purchase the DDP, without having to buy the one day tickets. Free dining must be part of a MYW pkg including paying rack rate for the room and buying at least a one day MYW park ticket for everyone in the room.:headache:

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY 100% CORRECT. NO area or building is EVER guaranteed, but they will "add" your request to your reservation!

I too was told by several CM's that you MUST purchase at least a one day one park ticket if you are getting a package ( including the FD package), vs. the AP room only with dining offer where a ticket is not required. AP holders who want FD will have to purchase the ticket as well- we were told the same thing with the bb promo. Also the FD package is a different reservation type than the ones people are booking in advance. While you cannot convert an existing ressie into a FD ressie you can cancel your current ressie and get a refund of deposit and rebook for FD. Of course any CM would push you to book now to get credit for that booking even though it will have to be cancelled. It's also wise in case what you want isn't available for FD as for some people the resort choice is more important and they don't want you to be disappointed if you can't get what you wanted with the promo- then it will be your decision as to which way to go. For those who have an existing ressie, there is no way to tell if there will be the same availability for your resort, room type, or length of stay with the FD package- no one would have access to that information yet as the promo isn't even open to see availability. Just inserting a dose of reality. I hope everyone who already has something on hold can get a new ressie when and where they want but be prepared to be flexible and then if you don't get what you wanted initially, check back frequently as availability is always subject to change. I'm looking forward to reading the threads tomorrow to see what everyone is able to get- nothing like reading all the happy posts!---Kathy

I too was told that I would have to add the 1 day tickets to have free dining, if free dining is offered. We are going one way or another so when I called to book my room the cast member offered me the AP dine pkg. I have been told on 3 seperate occasions that I would need to add the ticket. Can allways hope though:thumbsup2 I think there will be alot of confusion this year with all the booking changes disney has done over the past year. I really feel sorry for the CM's and tomorrow will be the only day of the year I am glad I am not a CM at CRO. Lets all send them some love:love: and pixie dust :wizard: and lets go out of our way to make there day magical by being nice:flower3: .
