Feel free to be harsh...

I like them. Good composition and great subjects. But I think the first one would be even better if you could get the clouds to appear more distinct, it seems a little white and faded on the top half of the picture.

I agree with Bos. The sky is too washed out. A circular polarizer would have helped you a great deal with that picture. Both are nice, great composition.

Thanks guys. I took the barn picture on my motorcycle. I pulled over to the side of the road, turned my Lowepro slingbag around and snapped 3 pictures. I'm not that great in photoshop, but i am going to try and blue the sky a little more.

Colors are nice in the first one, though I agree the sky is a little overexposed. As someone else mentioned, a cp would help. As far as the composition is concerned, it seems a little heavy on the left side. I think I'd like it better with the barn farther to the right and the barn door opening into the frame.

Anybody's take on the other picture????

It is very pretty but with that reflecting light right there dead center on the water my eye just sits there. I don't really see the rest of the image when I look at.

The first one is nice but the white fence feels like it chops off the lower left corner of the image to me. I agree the sky is a bit washed, but that is an easy fix with a layer mask in PS. Also the edge of the grassy hill is pretty close to drawing a line through the center of the image, it makes it feel a bit cut in half too, but not much. Other than that it is a nice shot.

the sunset reflection seems a little blown to me( this is from having taken a similar shot and blowing the highlights on it;) and it looked just like that) and something about the very foreground bothers me, not sure if since it's not much there I'd rather be able to actually see it. if it were more of an interesting silhouette,ie a person or something more obvious, it would be different but here i just keep looking at it and not knowing what it is. i love the coloration though and the subject. the fact it is centered is ok for me as well. you could maybe crop more of the foreground off and that way make the sky with the nice clouds more of the photo?

i like the first one but this is one rare occasion i think i would like a wider angle to play up the lonesome little barn in the field in the middle of nowhere.if yu could get the sky/cloud contrast up more or just more contrast in general i wonder what it would look like in b&w.

The bad thing about the barn is that to the left side of the picture is the road I was sitting on, if I went any wider, you would see the road, the power lines, the ditch, etc. The only option I could find was to crop it right there, and hope for the best. (I have a wider picture somewhere, but I can't find it right now)

doesn't it just frost you how they never seem to build with future photographs in mind? :)
