Alright! I'm so glad you are taking the plunge with a WDW vacation! Now, some questions:

Are you staying on site?

Do you like to get going early?

How many days will you be spending at WDW? Any days at other theme parks?

Have you bought a guidebook yet? I highly recommend the Unofficial Guide by Bob Sehlinger. It has touring plans in the back of the book.

You probably need to be making those ADRs pretty soon, too.

Ummm... Caitlyn, how about answering some of the questions so that you can get some real help. Thanks!

Caitlyn,

I didn't check back until now. I see that you added some parks to your post. Thanks for the info. I see that over a 10 day span, you plan to hit MK 7 times, AK 5 times, EPCOT 5 times, and MGM 2 times. The first suggestion that I have to take a break every day in the afternoon, if possible. You will feel more refreshed, and after all, you are on vacation. Enjoy that pool at the resort. I hope that you booked an onsite resort, it makes the afternoon break concept work better.

Also, at least every 2 days, take a morning off. Head to the parks later in the day. Sleep in and play at the pool or the playground. (Or, watch TV :thumbsup2 ) This will help to keep you energized. Again, you are on vacation, don't try to wear yourself out.

I worry about you guys doing too much, especially with the special needs in your group. Any group can overdo it at WDW. The pixie dust seems to come to those who go slow enough to let it fall on them.

I just noticed that the 2 times that you are in MGM are in the morning. You should try to schedule Fantasmic, the evening show, sometime in your itinerary. It's awesome!

Yes...we are staying at the Poly

Your agenda looks like what we do. We never spend whole days at just one park but split parks like you scheduled. Only thing we do different: On a 10 night stay, we have 2 down days, no parks at all but thats when we do DTD, shopping and water parks. I try to stuff them in, first after 3 days of parks then the 2nd on the 7th day. We also do the pool breaks and we usually stay at the Poly too. On the down days we visit Fort Wilderness for our Hoop Dee Do evening and we do our expensive dining on those days also. Yachtsman Steakhouse is one fav of ours and we like going one night to Boardwalks piano bar. Enjoy your trip either way, just remember to stop and smell the flowers along the way, pace yourself.

Check your closing times at the parks carefully. I see that you are doing AK in the evening a couple of times and I don't remember them staying open very late, maybe 7 o'clock or so. The animals are visible in the early morning openings as they are feeding (good time for safari ride).
10 days is a good long time, but take it easy and don't get in a rush. If you plan properly you can get a lot of stuff done while others are just walking around wondering what to do next. The Unofficial Guide is highly recommended by my DW and DS-9 who has it memorized.
Make priority seating arrangements as early as possible (or you may not get them at all) for meals. They may call them something else now instead of priority seatings, but they are still reservations.
Have a great time...you look like you have a good start.

I agree with the following:

For a vacation that long, schedule down days. Enjoy your resort, go to DTD, check out the boardwalk, resort hop and see what else Disney World has to offer. Relax, you're on vacation.

Check the times for AK. Evenings are short there. They close earlier than the other parks.

Definately schedule Fantasmic sometime.

Let us know how you made out when you return.

Is there any special place the children want to eat? What ADR's do you have? I would also do AK in the morning. That park also seems to get hotter during the day and has less air flow. It may be more comfortable for you in the morning.
