Criminal Minds -- DIS Official Thread 1 (SPOILERS!)

I love the going rogue angle.
You know what this means, though. A continuation of the Ian Doyle storyline. Not a big fan of that. And how betrayed will the team feel when she returns?
And how are we going to make it to Oct before the new season starts???

I have a prediction. When we last left off, Rossi was talking to JJ in someone's office. I bet it will start back up in the same scene with her telling him Emily is alive. Garcia is gonna be TICKED off when she finds out.

They should not think twice about bringing Hotch back. They have seen, this past season, what happens when you mess with the perfect formula. You get a lot of angry fans and then you have to eat crow. Oh, and alienating viewers for real this time. This time we gave them time to correct their mistakes. There may not be a next time for a lot of fans.

I think the CM producers need to spend some time reading this thread. We have some good ideas over here popcorn::

Morgan is gonna be ticked too :scared1:

I don't think they're stupid enough to not bring Hotch back. They obviously know they screwed up. Has any show ever gotten rid of two actors in one season and had them signed again before the next season started?

I dunno, a couple good scenes of Shemar in the shower, and I'd be willing to forgive almost anything..oh, I'm sorry, where there a plot in there somewhere? Maybe it's hidden under his towel...

Seriously, though, they'd be fools not to keep Thomas Gibson. I've loved him since "Chicago Hope".

I'm very interested to see how they get Prentiss back on the show. Obviously it's gonna take a couple episodes. They have to track down Doyle, kill him, find Prentiss, etc. I can't wait to see how everyone reacts. This is gonna be good popcorn::

Argh! You posted at the same time I was typing. I missed your last post last nite or we could have been chatting about this all nite. :headache:

I don't think they will kill Doyle first. I think she's been hunting down Doyle all along. So she has to be in those (two, at least) episodes while they all are tracking him down. She is the only one who remotely knows where Doyle's son is.

Actually, I'd rather they didn't go the "it was a dream" angle. There are too many good, relevant ways they could bring back Prentiss, and kill off Seaver in a hail of bullets, um, er, I mean, get Seaver off the show, that would completely fit in the show's style/format.

I vote for Seaver going rogue, taking after her father, they find out she's the unsub, and THEN bring her down in a hail of bullets. Maybe I've been playing too much Barney Carnage...

Anyway, glad to join this thread--I've been lurking for quite a while, and Imzadi, love the photos.

I was kidding about the "it was a dream" idea. Nothing like pissing off the whole country, which was what Dallas did. :upsidedow

Yes, we need Seaver to go off in a hail of bullets. Maybe Doyle can kill her? :hyper:

Welcome!. :woohoo:

No need to lurk, we're all friendly on this thread. Well, okay, not to Seaver. :p

Fantastic news! So glad they brought AJ & Paget back. Both are terrific in their roles. Now, just waiting for good news re Thomas.

The show will start up again, probably Sept 21st. :hyper:

Garcia & Morgan will be pissed. Reid will feel the most betrayed. Remember he had problems with both his dad & Gideon both leaving him with only a letter. J.J. was the one that stopped him from going to see Prentiss in the operating room and consoled him when she could have told him the truth.

I think Thomas (Hotch's) agent knows he has a lot of bargaining power now. The fans made such a stink about J.J. & Prentiss. The show was still in the top 12 of all shows and top 5 of scripted shows, not reality TV shows, even when Prentiss & J.J. were gone. That was due to Hotch, Morgan & Reid (mostly.)

Firing & then having to rehire J.J. & Prentiss back is the TV equivalent of when New Coke came on the market and the world screamed, "We want our original coke back!" :furious:

I sincerely hope ABC/CBS are not that stupid. . . Except they proved they were so, when they fired the two gals. :sad2:

Have a birthday party for your kid and be busy for a couple of days and LOOK what I missed!!

YAY!! Now I really can't wait for next season.

This is the latest interview in about Prentiss' return. It is with the head executive producer, Erica Messer, who will make all the final creative decisions on how the show will go, (other than the top execs at CBS & ABC.) She also wrote the season finale and added more of the humor, like with Reid trying to be funny. She is called the "showrunner."

"Exclusive: Criminal Minds Boss on Paget Brewster's Return: "It Feels Rewarding"

The news that Paget Brewster will return to the cast of Criminal Minds in Season 7 gave many fans reason to cheer. But executive producer Erica Messer's reaction was more a sigh of a relief.

Paget Brewster returns to Criminal Minds; Rachel Nichols to exit :p

And for good reason. Messer, who will officially handle showrunner duties this season, is coming off a Season 6 that was rocked by the never-fully-explained cutting of two fan favorites, Brewster and A.J. Cook, from the cast. But with both women now back on board, Messer says she's excited to move forward.

"It feels rewarding," she tells TVGuide.com exclusively. "This team works well together and now we can get on with telling the stories that have kept us going for six seasons.

But the good news for Brewster means bad news for Rachel Nichols, who will not return full time next season after recurring this past year. Below, Messer discusses that painful decision process, how the return of Brewster's presumed-dead character, Emily Prentiss, will affect the team, and the power of the Criminal Minds fans.

TVGuide.com: What are your plans for reintroducing Prentiss to the team?
Erica Messer:
This will be the first order of business on Tuesday. The writers will be back and we will officially dive into Season 7.

TVGuide.com: Will she have changed any since we last saw her?
Messer:
Absolutely. No one goes into hiding and comes out unscathed. She has been in defensive mode for months now. She'll be exhausted and will have to face the family to explain a few things.

TVGuide.com: Starting with the fact that she's alive! What will the team reaction be, given that many of them believe her to be dead?
Messer:
There will be a lot of tension. Hotch [Thomas Gibson] and JJ [Cook] kept a big secret from the team. Ultimately. those kept in the dark will forgive the others when they find out Prentiss is alive.

TVGuide.com: What can you say about letting Rachel Nichols go?
Messer:
It wasn't an easy decision and it took a village to make it. Having eight characters on Criminal Minds seemed unlikely. Rachel is a real trouper and a pro. She walked into an incredibly difficult position and handled it with grace. The cast felt she fit in — we're actually a funny group off-camera — and she will be missed by all of us who worked with her everyday.

TVGuide.com: Will she appear in any capacity to wrap up her character's story?
Messer:
As storytellers we hate leaving threads undone. Creatively, there's more to explore there. I won't know for a bit if that's a possibility.

TVGuide.com: What's the latest on Thomas Gibson's contract?
Messer:
[He's in] ongoing negotiations that I hope close soon. I have visions of the premiere in my head, but would feel better knowing he's back.

TVGuide.com: So, do you have a theme for next season at this point?
Messer:
Our theme hasn't been discussed yet, though right now it seems like surprises await all of us, on-screen and off. So maybe there's something in that.

TVGuide.com: Looking back at last season overall, how did the cast changes detract from the original goals?
Messer:
The cast issues gave us unexpected story lines, and I think we handled that the best we could. The goals for the season were altered, but the theme of secrets had been set and our Prentiss storyline reflected that in every possible way — before, during and after her battle with Ian Doyle [Timothy V. Murphy].

TVGuide.com: Do you want to do come back bigger and bolder than ever this year?
Messer:
Having the band back together is in itself a huge victory and should give everyone a sense of security. Once that's established, we can get our heroes back to solving twisted tales.

TVGuide.com: How much did the fan outcry play into bringing back A.J. and Paget?
Messer:
Our fans are some of the most loyal I've ever known. And they're not shy. :woohoo: :cool1: :yay: Their love for our show and investment in the characters is beyond encouraging. If they're enthusiasm helped everyone see how important the unity of our team is, fantastic."

Good point! For JJ's sake, I really hope Hotch is around next season. When they find out Prentiss is alive, I'd hate to see Morgan and Garcia take out all their anger on JJ :scared1:

Season finale was two weeks ago. :sad1: You can check to see if the beginning of the episode starts out like the one here:
http://www.youtube.com/user/SSAMinds#p/u

Scroll down 4 videos and click on the link for: CM 6.24 1

That link has all the current Season 6 episodes, and/or Season 5 online. They are listed in reverse order, with the latest episode listed at the top. They are also listed in FOUR or FIVE SEGMENTS. So the first episode of this season is 6. 01 1 for Season 6, episode 1, segment 1, etc. :happytv:

I am getting really annoyed now that Thomas Gibson (Hotch) hasn't been able to sign a new contract with ABC/CBS yet.

All the other contracts have been wrapped up & the ink is dry. Come ON ABC/CBS! (ABC actually produces the show, not CBS. It only airs on CBS.)

This is a recent poll (already closed,) done on at criminalmindsfanatic.blogspot.com. It was done before Shemar signed his new contract.

Would you watch Season 7 if Thomas Gibson (HOTCH) was gone?
No 38821 (95%)
Yes 1646 (4%)

Votes so far: 40467
Poll closed

Would you watch Season 7 if Shemar Moore (MORGAN) was gone?
No 6599 (64%)
Yes 3564 (35%)

Votes so far: 10163
Poll closed

Can the results be any clearer? :confused3

Quick ?

Was the final episode where A.J Cook was sitting waiting for Rossi? :confused3
