Until you get around to buying the spatula (or if you're cheap like me and you don't want to spend the money), you can use an X-acto knife to lift your pieces from the mat. Gently slide the tip of the theblade under the piece and lift it... sometimes you need to kind of "loosen" it around the edges. FWIW... the mats that came with my machine were UNBELIEVABLY sticky... so much so that I almost couldn't use them... I couldn't lift ANYTHING off the mat. But the mats I have bought since then are just a "normal" sticky... much better to use. Good luck and have fun with your machine!.....P
