I have been using my cricut very heavily in the last 2 weeks - - I cut over 600 ribbons from locker talk (6 of them fit on a 12x12 page) 600 2 inch numbers and 600 2 1/2 circles. Last night, I was cutting other things and I noticed the letters that I cut didn't quite work with the shadows. I used the cuttin up base font and shadow and never noticed a problem before. I also cut some circles with a shadow from plantin schoolbook and they weren't quite right either.

Anyone else experience this problem or have any suggestions? The blade is fine and in place with nothing stuck in the housing. THe mats are pretty used but still holding the paper in place fine. I am going to try again today to see if the same thing happens and I guess I'll open a new set of mats to rule that out too.

I'll go cut some with that cart in a moment and see if it is the cart or your machine.

With this cart, the smaller the letter size, the smaller the shadow area. I don't know why. But my 1" letter has much less shadow showing than my 2-1/4 letter.

Let me know if you need me to cut anything for you if the reset doesn't work.

just a thought. I have been cutting boxes from TBBM--200 of them. All of a sudden it started cutting all wonky. I figured out that cutting in the same spot over and over made a groove in the mat that caused the blade to hang up. Try rotating the mat and see if that helps any.
