Cricut Expression $188.00

Lynn,

How does the points program work? I am finally giving in to getting my first Cricut.

Thanks,
Marcie

Some of the cartridges (pretty much anything made after 2008?) have a certificate in them with a code. You go to www.cricutrewards.com and sign up for an account (free) and input your code. You get x number for licensed (100?), 90 for full carts, 50 for solutions carts. I got 200 for my gypsy and an additional 500 bonus, I think.

They have cartridges, t-shirts, lanyards, etc. that you "buy" with your points. They have definitely improved the program, but the shipping is (IMHO), very high. I got 5 cartridges (1 full size and 4 solutions) and had to pay $24 in shipping. If you think about it in terms of $4.80 per cartridge, it's really not so bad, but $24 is a big amount, I think.

Looking forward to making the decision.... to get the Big one or not???? Still debating. I have the original Cricut, but I was thinking about all the cool things to do with the E..... just the price is tempting, but I think I have decided to go for the carts...

happy shopping everyone!

Thanks for the info!

I totally agree about the shipping. I wanted a t-shirt and they wanted $8 to ship it! I am not international or Alaska or Hawaii...$8?! I have heard that you can now use 100 points to cover shipping.

$8 to ship a crummy t-shirt! I thought mine was bad, at least they had some weight to them! Good idea to put points toward it. Too bad they didn't have that when I ordered. Figures.

Like most of you, my wife is into scrapbooking. Like me, she's also teacher. We have an expression a school that the staff uses for bulletin boards, etc. I'm considering getting her a Cricut for x-mas but don't know if it's necessary to go the Expression route. She would simply being using it for scrapbooking at home. Would the Expression be overkill? Can I get away with the personal size?

Thanks!
Gary

I say go with the Expression the added features really make it worth it. And, having one at home will ease in getting things done there for school...Just my opinion though!

I was just checking out the Walmart web site. On there the $30 carts are all the new ones. SCORE! Oh the decisions to be made!

When you look at the Walmart site it also says the Expressions will be available online. I wonder if it will be available before 5am...it's not listed as a door buster...What do you all think?

Have you seen the pictures of the E's from the Walmart ad? They look so cool! I am normally a red girl, but I am digging the black with the green inside. It would match my Gypsy Laddio! :lmao:

Just an FYI...if you're referring to the colors of the ones pictured in the ad, the one in the front that's open is the green one, while the black one is actually in the back. The green is just a dark green (which may have been why you thought it was the black), hence the green interior. Based on the photo, it's not yet known what color the interior of the black one is...probably not green though. Maybe you'll like the red better afterall? :-)

So after visiting Walmart on a recon mission, and finding the Cricut display...it's an "All day Friday" deal, not a Doorbuster, which means it goes on sale at MIDNIGHT. There was even a tag on the display saying for sale at midnight. So instead of getting up early, I am staying up late. DH is happy, it means he doesn't have to go out tomorrow.

Does that mean it goes on sale online at Midnight too? Midnight CST? or EST?:confused3

From what I've read, the online sale starts at Midnight PST.

I went to the Cricut board, and one other person say the midnight signs at her Walmart too. But there are many more people who have called, and have been told not until 5. This is so confusing.

Thanks--I was hoping that since it wasn't a doorbuster it would go on sale at Midnight...I just called my local Wal-Mart and they say it's an all day sale so it will be on sale at MN...might have to get in the car:drive:

Yay, for you. I got nervous seeing so many posts of people being told 5, that I called my store. Reconfirmed, it's midnight!. So I am so there. Now, I'm fretting about how early to go. Most people probably think it's 5, but there are going to be the people there waiting for computers and tv's...hopefully, they don't want Cricuts.

Just got back--Got a blue one:cool1:...as above posters stated they had 4 of each color and only 2(mine made 3) were sold so far...I may still try to get one on-line because here in the minimum mark-up state of WI it was $199-- still not bad, but if I can get it on line for $188, I'll return this one.

Good luck in the am--they sure weren't flying off the shelves yet!

I got mine too. The blue one. Our pallet had 4 stacks of 4, so 16 total, 4 in each color. They let us take our stuff at 11:50. I was the only one there for a machine, but a couple people got cartridges. We were first in line at a checkout, only the computers didn't update, so all the prices were coming up wrong. Luckily, our cashier got a manager first, and was able to override the prices, and we were on our way after a couple minutes. Then the security went off for the machine, and we had to show our receipt. I think it's going to be a long night for the employees, but I will go to sleep happy.

I was just wondering if anyone knows if the coloured expressions at walmart for $188.00 has a plastic or metal housing for the blade and what about the bracket that holds the housing

thanks

I ended up getting the green one at midnight. There was only one other person waiting near there. My store had two of the palates with 16 each, so there were a total of 32. Surprising considering nobody seemed to even care that it was there...even when I checked back a little after 5am. I actually had to go and ask an employee to unwrap it for me when midnight hit because there were no employees with it. Very unexpected. But the trends at my store all around were pretty unexpected. For HOURS myself and one other person were the only ones in line for the $78 BluRay player. :confused3
