Crib rentals

WE are going next month and will staying at BCV. We decided that dd who loves her crib at home would probably do better with a crib than a pack and play. Any advice on who to use?

We use A Baby's Best Friend (www.abbf.com) for everything, have for years. Every time everything is clean, and always at our hotel when we arrive. As for cribs, I really like it now that we set it up ourselves after we choose which room we want it in. It really is easy and takes about 5 minutes to set up.

All the items we get from them are always clean and relatively new. We really have found it worth it to rent from them, as ours dd really does sleep better in a full crib with a real mattress. We also get our strollers from them rather than the parks for all the above reasons, plus we have it alll the time with us, and it's less expensive.

Another vote for ABBF. My DS and DIL raved about them on a previous trip, and this last time when we joined them we saw why. What nice items they had, and I even ordered a fridge from them. How nice it was not to have to monkey around with ice and cooolers. And best of all, no warm brewskies.

We used Children's Furniture Rentals this past June and were VERY happy with the service! I don't have the number handy, but you can do a search on these boards and get it - that's how I first heard about them. We had a clean full sized wooden crib all set up in our resort when we got there.

I highly recommend them.

We very much appreciated the cleanliness and wonderful service that we experienced with A Baby's Best Friend. Their web site is smashing, and we could not have been happier with each item we hired from them. I especially liked the cribs they use and that I could set it together myself so quickly. We had a problem with our first room before we settled in and the resort had to move us, so that was good. I imagine that is the reason they do it like that.

Fast friendly service with fantastic products. I wish all my experiences at WDW were like that!

I agree that a baby´s best friend www.abbf.com is great. Just last week we rented a toddler bed and a huge stroller from them and were very happy with both.

Apparently I'm the only person who did this, but I used the resorts Pack and Play. It is free and in the room at check-in. It is also clean, a new model (less than 1 year old), and has cute Disney sheets/ bedding. I thought it was great and didnt take up too much room. Free and clean, could you ask for more?

We also used the Pack and Play and found it to be one of the newer models. I thought for sure we would have problems with DD since she LOVEs her clib and you would rarely find the "princess" sleeping anywhere else.

But we found that she was so tired by the end of the day she just dropped We never had a problemw ith her being in the PNP

How old/big is your child? I've got two not-quite-two year olds that still sleep in a crib but don't do very well in pack-n-plays. They did fine when they were smaller but really need a full-sized crib now.

We're hoping to be able to get two full-sized or at least two porta-crib. If not, we're considering trying them in a bed with 2 or 3 bedrails around it...

I just rented a crib and highchair for my DS who will be 1 @ the time. He really sleepd alot better in his crib.Thanks so much for this thread-you all yook a load off my mind! Thanks again! Angel

Well on our DD first trip to WDW we used their pack and play and sorry but I did not get a new model with cute disney sheets, I got a way older graco model and it was dirty and it smelled of mold, I put her in it the first nite cause hubby told me to stop over reacting and just put the baby to bed and the baby woke up with a her very first cold ever, we didnt use it for the rest of the trip, I dont know if it was the pack and play but since we drive to WDW I just bring my own, She is comfortable and knows it and I bring all her own stuff that is in her crib at home so its familiar to her!!!

If your concerned about using the resort Pack-n-plays you could just bring your own. My Pack-n-play has been on an airplane quite a few times. We just check it with our luggage.

My DS will be 22 months when we visit. I'm not sure if I will bring PnP. He is getting pretty big. Last month we used it in hotel room that was very small. Well the little rascal (17 months at the time) figured out how to get out of the Pnp by pulling himself onto the beds.

We had to move the Pnp by the bathroom so he couldn't get out - or so we thought. We were all settled in bed and heard a thump. He had flipped himself out of the PnP. He wasn't hurt. We just put him back in and told him to go to sleep. He finally did.

Maybe I should see if they have bed rails and just try putting him in a big bed with his brother.

Maybe I will look into the crib rental as well. Thanks for starting this thread.

We are styaing at the POFQ in Nov-Dec and I have already reserved a pack and play for our room, although after reading this site I am now wondering if I should consider renting a crib. I am worried about the amount of space in the rooms at this resort? I dont know how much more room a full crib would take up. does anyone have experience with a full size crib at POFQ? I would love to hear your comments. My son will be 15 months when we go and right now he is an excellent sleeper in a full size crib and a playpen but I am wondering if he will sleep well in a PNP. Thanks

To me, a Pack-n-Play *IS* a playpen. Unless you mean one of those things with the metal frame where the side comes all the way down like I had as a baby? If he sleeps in a playpen, I think he'd sleep in a Pack-n-play.

You will have no problem at POFQ, we have had a crib from ABBF there, as well as other Disney Resorts, and there is adequate space without feelling too cramped. The size is just like our DD crib at home, I just measured and it's right at 31" x 55". I think ABBF has the actual size on their site. Anyway, we had plenty of space and are EXTREMELY happy we rent a full size, (if baby doesn't sleep. . . NO one sleeps!) Like a rock is how DD sleeps, and the service and genuine concern ABBF offers is unbeatable. Definatley worth the cost (very small cost considering the total cost of the trip).

We used the in room pnp on our last trip but dd was smaller. I think she is too tall for the pnp. We booked a crib from abbf and with tax it's only $80.00. I figured we spent all of this money on the trip whats $80 to make sure we have a happy toddler

You know it. We were just talking about it on another thread. No one is worth anything the next day if you don't get any sleep. We have rented every time we go and our trips get better and better.

We found this out the HARD way on our first trip. We (mistakenly) thought we could get by with the resort's p&p, knowing full well DS never really slept well in one at home. The first night was a disaster, (tossing, turning, waking every hour. . .). I called ABBF early the next morning and was THRILLED that they were able to get a full crib to us. (He said I had called early enough to get on the schedule for that day! YEA!!!) Wow, what a difference. The rest of our stay was glorious, and everyone slept like rocks.

A playpen is a pack and play, if you leave the pad on the bottom instead of at the top, it is identical to the old playpens I had when I was little. I heard that they call them pack n plays now because play"pens" have some negative connotation to them like the babies are incarcerated. Whatever! I still use both terms interchangeably.

I actually was going to start a new thread but maybe someone can help me out. We have a pack and play reserved for our trip later this month and I'd like to bring my own sheets. I have a Graco with 2 additional sheets- will Graco sheets fit on the resort ones?
