Got the call/email/text from Chase this weekend that our credit card number has been compromised, and fraudulent charges were incurred. They cancelled our card and the new ones should be here today. We've had this happen before so no big deal, usually. Problem now is...that number is the one we used to secure our dining and resort reservations for both August and December. Please tell me that when I get home tonight and update my credit card info in MDE that everything is going to be OK. I'm not too worried about the August resort and CRT reservation...we made the reservation at 62 days, so we just paid in full...but I'm a little worried about the rest of our August dining reservations that weren't pre-paid and the December resort stay. Please tell me nothing will **poof**. If anyone has had a similar situation and it turned out OK, please let me know!

No worries. The same thing happened to me before our last trip with my Chase Disney Visa. We went going in early February and all my ADRs were made and secured with my Disney Visa before the number was stolen on Dec 31. I called Disney to update my card for my existing dining reservations and they said to leave my dining reservations alone and they did not want to edit my credit card. They said that since the reservations were already secured to leave them alone and it would not be a problem even though my card number was no longer valid. I did not have any issues with the card or with any reservations on that trip. The only thing I did was when I arrived at check-in, I gave them my new card for the room charges. My trip was paid off prior to my card being compromised. I wouldn't try to update it on-line, when you go to make your next payment, if you have any left, I would just update the card at that time. I worried about it but it worked out just fine! Have a great trip. I know it is stressful, but have some pixie dust! pixiedust:

I would call. If online messes up, it's gone.

I wouldn't call. I trust the online system to keep it, and I'd be afraid a phone agent would screw it up. I think there's more risk of an agent cancelling your reservation while they try to update the credit care information, than just letting it ride. Disney authorized the credit card; they won't find out it's cancelled unless they need to charge you for not showing up. And, even then, since they authorized the charge, it will probably still go through and show up on your new card.

Sorry this happened to you, too, but thanks for the first hand account! This makes me feel much better!

I feel the same way. I'm definitely not calling because I too am afraid a phone CM would screw everything up!

We've had a compromised card cancelled and one with a new number issued. You'll be fine. While the card has a new number it still links to the same account unless you completely closed the account and it doesn't sound like you did this so your reservations will be fine.

Same thing happened to me and I had a brain fart and forgot that I had used that particular card. I actually didn't even realize it until I was in position to cancel an ADR while at WDW. I didn't have any issues at all but it was completely by mistake that it occurred.

Well, I did go in an update my online checkin with the new credit card info, and then saved that to my profile, and everything updated without anything disappearing. So .

Sad, though, that something so simple can cause guests to worry because of how unstable/unreliable MDE is.

We did the same thing about a week ago when our credit card was compromised. Just went online and updated our credit card info on our profile and :woohoo:

Don't anticipate any issues as none of our ADRs were cancelled after our credit card was cancelled.
