I just noticed that my credit card was charged for my upcoming reservation. I don't remember this happening for other reservations in the past like WOC dessert party, but maybe it did or perhaps this is a new policy? Can you tell me the cancellation policy with this? Is it 2 hours or something else?

Cancellation policy is 2 days.

Since I couldn't remember, I looked it up. Three years ago I booked the World of Color Dessert Party and was charged at the time I booked. One month later, still before the no cancellation window, I changed my mind about going, cancelled the reservation, and received a full refund back to my credit card. So it would seem charging at booking for these types of experiences has been going on for quite a while.

Thanks everyone for the information and the research. Looks like being charged in advance is the norm for some events for a while now. Can someone link me to the 2 day cancellation policy so I can read the fine print.

Since it's directly next to the part that says full payment is due upon booking, if anything that implies there's an extra fee for no-showing these parties on top of the original charge.
Ah, good catch! I only read Cancellation Policy section and didn't spot that other text. That would explain the charge, all right.

It almost looks like they had the charge info in the Cancellation Policy section from other events that don't charge in advance, and didn't realize that this event charges at booking so they don't need to charge upon no-show or late cancellation. I agree that it's confusing.

What fine print do you need besides what's explained on the page I cited? I'm not sure there is any more detail.

If you search for Docking Bay 7 on the app, it has it listed there.

I've always thought the main reason you couldn't get a refund if the show was cancelled for the dining packages was because you're eating in advance, so you would get value from your payment even if the show was cancelled. However, the no refunds policy also seems to be in place for the Dessert Party. If they have to cancel WOC due to weather, do they usually do this at the last minute, so Dessert Party guests still get their food and drink? Wondering what would happen if the weather was bad enough that they didn't even seat or serve Dessert Party guests.
