Is anyone here a consultant? I have a few questions if anyone can answer

what are the start up costs?

what are the minimum sales per period?

commission?

how involved is it? is it a pushy kind of thing or more of a go at your own pace even if that pace is slow kind of thing? I'm looking for something I can do super casually, more to sell to my friends and myself rather than to go crazy trying to book lots of parties. I'm a SAHM with lots of other mom friends who would enjoy the occasional evening out scrapbooking but I don't need/want to make a full time job out of it, if that makes any sense/

Anything else that would be helpful to know?

You might want to post down in the Creative Community a few boards down, too. There is a scrapbooking section there and you may get more answers.

I use CM products, and my consultant isn't pushy at all. I don't think she's really in it for the money though, she mostly has workshops and get-togethers with friends.

thank you! I appreciate your opinion and it's nice to hear that others might enjoy a similar thing. Honestly, I like the idea of the social aspect of it at least as much as I would making a few extra dollars!

When I was a consultant 7-8 years ago, we had to spend $500 a quarter on product (with a 30%) discount. I had fun, made a lot of nice scrapbooks, but I never made any money!

I am a consultant of over 16 years. The previous post is correct-$500 in sales over a three month period is the cummulative minnimum and the 30% commission at the basic level.

As you can imagine the business has changed quite a bit over the years. Let me know if you have additional quesitons.
