Creating Photo Mat for DCL

HI guys I need some advice. I want to take a heavy weight photo mat (pre cut type you buy at craft store) to have the Characters sign while on board. I really would like to pre cut something into the mat before the signatures go on. (ie. Disney Cruise Line across the top). Any advice on doing these? I have bought a couple for experimentation but I thought you guys might have some experience to share. I have an expression and a gypsy to work with! any advice is so very welcome! thanks

Do you have a Deep Cut Blade for the Cricut? You could try that - I don't know how thick a mat you're talking.

Will it fit through the Cricut? That's the other thing.

If it doesn't - maybe cut a stencil out with Cricut, and paint something on?
