Am I the only one who doesn't cook with this stuff? I see recipe after recipe here where a can of cream of mushroom soup is dumped in. I just can't do it. :scared:

Am I alone?

Not only do I cook with cream of mushroom soup, I also use cream of chicken and cream of celery. I make lots of dishes using these soups. We love them!

I hate it in recipes however we used to eat it as a soup. I told a neighbor once that we eat it as a soup and she thought I was nuts.:rotfl:

I will use the cream of chicken sometimes. However for the most part, the soups I use to cook with are the Lipton Beefy Onion.

I used to use Beefy Mushroom but they don't make that anymore.

I do use cream of chicken on occasion, but that's the extent of it. :rotfl:

I use either cream of celery or cream of broccoli soup as a substitute for cream of mushroom soup.

I always use cream of chicken instead of cream of mushroom. (love that cheesy potato casserole)

I hate mushrooms, but I use Cream of Mushroom with roasted garlic as a sauce for these meatballs I make and and DH thinks it's the best stuff ever!! It's one of my favorite meals too!! :thumbsup2

I have one recipe that uses the cream of golden mushroom soup and that's it. It's probably the same stuff but it's thinner and brown so it doesn't give me that gag reflex.

I have to use the mushroom soup in my beef stroganoff, which is only because it was my childhood favorite dish, now one of my dd's favorites.

I can't stand the soup over pork chops then served over rice.... so bland!

Cream of Mushroom is my favorite soup as a soup, and a great sauce for .

I did all the cooking for about 20 years in our household (I worked graveyard, my wife worked until 6 pm).

Give me:
1) a piece of beef (or ground beef), chicken or fish.
2) a can of cream of mushroom, or french onion, or tomato, or cheddar cheese or chicken broth, or beef broth
3) Rice, barley, potatoes, or pasta
4 ) A bag of frozen corn, peas, green beans, brussel sprouts, okra, carrots

I'll give you about 504 different dinner combinations.

You are not alone... I refuse to cook with it or eat it

I have used cream of celery and cream of chicken in some crock pot recipes and I'm not a fan

We don't eat it. Not only does it completely gross me out, but neither one of us tolerate it well.

You CAN make your own if you really want to use it... but I've never seen the need.

I most often use golden mushroom or cream of mushroom with roasted garlic. A lot more flavor than just the plain stuff. I really hate mushrooms, but I like to use them for flavoring when cooking.

I mostly use golden mushroom when I make a shepards pie. And they're good for thickened sauces. I'm not a fan of the other cream of soups.

I love green bean casserole, which has cream of mushroom soup in it. I only eat it at the holidays because my dad doesn't like green beans.

Mmm...now I want tatertot casserole for dinner tomorrow. I'm 100% certain it's not good for you, but mmmmm good. Cheesy, salty, creamy, crrrrrispy. Just don't try to swim across the Thames after eating it, I'm pretty sure you'd sink. :thumbsup2
