I'm going to the 5:30 performance of the Candlelight Processional on Thurs. Dec. 8. I already have a regular dining reservation at 6:45. Will we be able to find seats at the CP without a Dining Package or are we crazy to try?

I was wondering this as well
On Christmas Night has anyone done the CP with out a pachage (mother and father in law wont get package and we really dont want to spend extra money)
BUt I wanna see John Stamos from Full House (thats whos supposed to be thier anyway.)
We've never done the package and have never failed to get a seat - even for very popular narrators. I don't think we've ever queued more than 45 minutes.
For reasons that escape me - for the CP as well as Eat to the Beat & FLower Power - the first show is always the most crowded.
All of that being said, Disney has roughly doubled the package number this year, so the Standby situation is inevitably a bigger crapshoot.
We got there an hour early for the 5:00pm showing and there was already quite bit of a line but we still got in. We didn't get up very close but the stage is so big that you can see just fine even in the back of the theatre. Phil Donahue did a fine job and the show was beautiful.
It almost depends on the narrator as to whether you can get in without a long wait or not. We have been on successive days with different speakers and noticed a huge difference in the line lengths. Your narrator, Jaci Velasquez may have one of the bigger crowds. I would get in line around 4:00 at the latest to get a seat for one of the first two shows.
We got into the 2nd seating without the dinner package last year. We showed up about 10 - 15 minutes before the show and were able to get seats in the very back for 8 of us. The seats weren't all together but we were sitting. We were there on Sunday (12/19) or Tuesday (12/21). We plan on doing the same this year on Friday 12/16.
I went to last night's 5:00 showing. I got there at 4:45 and walked right in and got seats about four rows from the back, and there were still plenty of seats available. Of course, it is early in the season so that probably helps with the crowds. Got to see Phil Donahue (he made jokes that everyone thought he was Merv Griffin!).
