We eat salad every night with dinner. I enjoy a good salad and don't always like the dressing choices when eating out. I use a light dressing and some of them are terrible and ruin the salad. How crazy would it be to bring my own dressing? I've never done this before, but I was wondering if anyone else has? I thought I could keep it in the hotel fridge and pour some into a small container and put it in a sandwich bag in case of leakage when we go out to dinner. Small packets would be easier but don't know where I would find them and if I did if I could find one I like. Linda :)

If you're flying, you won't be able to bring a bottle of salad dressing in your carry-on baggage. Rather than hassle with trying to bring it, I suggest you ask for your dressing or oil & vinegar on the side. That said, many of the food courts provide envelopes of Ken's salad dressings, and I'm sure a few of them are the light formula.

Have a nice trip. :)

I second the idea of asking for the dressing on the side. I am like the OP and don't like to have my salad swimming in dressing. I like the salad to have the taste of the dressing therefore I always ask for it on the side, then I am in control of how much to put on. I do this with every restaurant that I go to whether I am at home or in Disney. Good luck.

I have done this many times - especially while dieting. I used to do NutriSystem and they would provide you with individual size packages of dressing that you could carry with you.

Check out this website http://www.minimus.biz/Dressings.aspx. They sell individual sizes of dressings and all different things. If you google individual or travel size packages you get more also.

If you want to bring your own I would put it in your regular luggage in a zip lock bag (just incase of any spills).

I know exactly what you mean.....If I wasn't already toting half my fridge for my two toddlers I would bring my own dressing in a heart beat:laughing:

Maybe when they're grown:goodvibes

I have purchased small packets at my local grocery store Winco, in the section where they sell their sub sandwiches, salads and cheeses. They are there for convience items, I think they were about $.35 each. I have not purchased them in a long time, but they were delicious and convienent for me to take to local restaurants. You did not say if you were flying or not, so I don't know if this would work for you or not. Good luck!
