Crazy experience at It's a Small World

So, here is the real question. What do you do in a situation like that?

Do you ignore it and try to have a good ride anyway?
Do you say something to the people, like tell your kids to sit down or something?
Do you tell the CM at the end of the ride and ask to go again?

Do you make some smart-alec joke to the parents like " can I have some coins too? I figure there is no way you all are ghoing to stop so if you can't beat 'um join 'um?

What do you do? Start an argument right there and ruin EVERYBODY'S ride?

No, arguing is pointless and just brings me down. And who wants to be down at DW? Better, I like the suggestion of mentioning the incident to a CM and asking if you can simply re-ride. And it doesn't matter if that famiily hears you ask or not. It won't matter either way to them.

That's how I would have handled it anyway.

What about other people who have the same name? Genuinely curious here.
As I understand it (and bear in mind I'm not in Security): Your information (Name, Address, SSN, DLN, etc) are recorded by Security and the Orange County Sherriff's Dept, and you are informed that you're no longer allowed on Disney property -- ever. You are then escorted off-property (and if you're a Resort Guest, Security packs up your belongings for you and drops them off on the side of the road off-property -- although I've heard of cases where the Guests were allowed to pack up themselves, under the watchful eye of a Security host). If you return and are caught a second time, you are simply handed over to Orange County Law Enforcement, charged with Criminal Trespassing, and booked into the County Jail.

Bear in mind that this kind of treatment will never be experienced by 99.99999% of Disney's Guests (and that number's probably a little low -- it's certainly not something that happens every day, or every week, for that matter).

I just got around to watching the videos and they made my stomach hurt. I can't even believe what was going on, and the fact that dear ol' mom handed them an extra roll of coins? That goes even beyond letting your child do it but encouraging them and it's disgusting.

I have to agree that is a little strange, but I would have had more of a problem with you video taping my children, then posting them on the internet, if I were them.

You know, when you think about it... we're already doing this. Just because they are not the focus of the video/photo is why nobody has a problem with it. I bet there are some DISers who are in my kids scrapbooks as passersby in the backgrounds. I have plenty of home video from the parks with infinite numbers of strangers in it, and I've posted them online.

The problem isn't videotaping the kids (I mean, honestly, you couldn't even see them), the problem is that the only people who should have put a stop to that ridiculous behavior right then and there are the people who were encouraging it. So sad :sad2:

I would've told the CM. They should've been kicked out of the park.

Oh no! I just realized I have video of my grandson riding rides at an amusement park posted on my facebook page, and there are other children on the ride! Should I remove the videos??:scared:

Alot of people put money into the water there -- but I have never seen anyone hurl at it - and I am surprised that the person monitoring the boats didn't see them standing. That would have at least warranted a PA announcement to stay seated.

Liz

My thought also. Where was the person in charge of monitoring the ride?:confused3

It's such a slow and easy going ride that they probably don't have much worries about monitoring the boats. Although this is ridiculous and just plain terrible behavior they probably don't have this happen very often. Those people should have been kicked out of the park if you ask me!

If these were your kids, you probably wouldn't care anyway.

I knew watching that would make me mad.

I wouldn't be surprised if the mother handed them spray paint later and said "Make some Mickey ears".

Absolutely I would have videotaped them and then found a CM to watch it. Would have loved to have thier butts thrown out of the park for good.

OP here, and I just have to say that I'm glad that everybody here was equally appalled by these people's actions. :thumbsup2

I guess there's no pleasing everybody!

After the oodles of posts I've read here---that seems to be the consensus. Everyone complains about everything it seems.

I don't know what I would have done if I were in your situation. Probably video tape them, say loudly that it was going on YouTube and probably a few other words as well. Let's hope that the parents had been to a late dinner at O'Hanas and had one too many Lapu Lapus.

Drama on the DIS. Seriously, this is the only Disney board with such hostility with every topic. I can tell the the people on here are here not for Disney, but to complain, which is sad.

:worship: See, I thought Dis stood for DISbelief in everything!
