Crazy Eights take on the World: Spoiled Silly (Aug 2011 TR) Life Update: May 23!!!

Did You Bring The Room Key?
August 21, 2011

Ok so first up we have a short but sweet little update for ya!! As I mentioned at the end of my last update we headed home early the night before (if you call midnight early) so we could catch up on some much needed sleep.

We got up at exactly 8:45, wow I knew I was going to be sleeping in and even though I did I didn’t want to get up. But we did and we all got ready and headed to the main pool the “the springs” the one in congress park was closed for refurb it was kind of upsetting.

As we set out to the pool (a 5-7 minute walk) we got halfway there when we realized that we had all left our room keys in the room. FAIL, everyone was gone. Danielle and Adam were doing a segway tour in EPCOT and none of them were getting back anytime soon. So we decided what the heck, might as well finish our trek.

We were one of the first ones to the pool that morning. The water was a little bit cold but we warmed up to it really fast.

We got bored of swimming after probably 45 minutes but the slide was going to open up shortly so we stuck around. There was a long line by the time it finally opened at 10, they picked the kid of the day and he got to go down the slide second (the lifeguard went first) but as soon as he left the kid of the day and his siblings started goofing off. The one kid pushed the other down the slide and the other one tried to go down standing up. They were really rude. Needless to say we each went down one time and we were done with that.

I texted our parents to see if they were coming back anytime soon but they weren’t and we needed to get back to the room to get ready for our lunch reservation. We walked to the main building and Andy and KC went in and asked for a new room key so that we could get in and ready before they got back. At this point it was about 11 and our reservation was at 1:30 so we had plenty of time.

Once everyone was back to the room and finished getting ready we hopped on the bus to EPCOT at around noon.

IMG_5023.jpg

Just enjoying a nice afternoon bus ride

DSC04194.jpg

DSC04195.jpg

Point the way!!!

DSC04197.jpg

We arrived rather quickly, no outrageous wait for the bus. Who can resist a photo opp of the “golf ball”? not me that’s for sure!

IMG_5025.jpg

We had some time to kill so we decided to go check out Innoventions. Ma wanted to try some weather room thing but like the last time the line was too long so we decided to try

IMG_5033.jpg

Basically it was like cyber space mountain at Disney quest only BETTER!!! You can’t really see it from the picture but there are two chairs on a big metal arm simulator thing.

IMG_5032.jpg

It basically is trying to teach you math and science and stuff lol. You get to pick the speed and height of hills and loops. As we waited we watched other people have a go at it.

IMG_5034.jpg

And then Andy got a little freaked out.

IMG_5037.jpg

He is not a fan of things like this and neither is Ma so they decided they would ride together and they would make theirs nice and easy. Which meant I got to ride with Sam!!

But we still had quite the wait to go so Sam did what she does best and braided Pa’s hair

DSC04204.jpg

IMG_5038.jpg

Finish product

IMG_5040.jpg

IMG_5035.jpg

Soon enough we were at the front of the line and handed our card

IMG_5042.jpg

We went in and started building our rollercoaster. They give you a ruler and dial and you have to manipulate it to work without crashing and you are timed, the entire thing is kind of nerve wrecking.

DSC04206.jpg

Sam and I were all about making ours really fast and loopy. We realized afterwards that we should have done big loops at the slowest pace so we could stay upsiddown longer. Oh well, next time.

We got off and decided to head over to our lunch destination. Were were we going?

Best Lunch EVER!!!
August 21, 2011

After we got the flippy flippy rollaercoaster riding out of the way we decided to head over to our 1:30 lunch Reservation

IMG_5043.jpg

What cute handles on the doors!!!

IMG_5045.jpg

This one was my pick (:

IMG_5046.jpg

We got there early and the place was packed!! We had two separate tables (avoiding that outrageous automatic gratuity). I had Ma request a tank side table

We decided take a seat on the floor because there were no seats available and our feet had been hurting from all the walking over the past few days.

DSC04211.jpg

So we waited and enjoyed the décor

DSC04213.jpg

Our names were called and we were lucky enough to be taken to table that was right up a long the side of the tank.

DSC04219.jpg

IMG_5050.jpg

IMG_5059.jpg

Ma, Pa and KC we seated at a booth not to far away.

DSC04220.jpg

It was time to order drinks. I believe Andy and I got root beer and Sam got Coke. I also decided that since my drink and the sci-fi the night before was terrible I would treat myself once more.

IMG_5057.jpg

It turned out like this and let me tell you TOTALLY made up for the glass of salt I got the night before. SO GOOD.

IMG_5062.jpg

So as we waited for our food to be brought out we sat and enjoyed the fishes swimming by. And then we saw this guy!!!

DSC04228.jpg

Food arrived really quickly!!! So let’s get to the yummy food pictures!!!

We will start with Sam: Grilled New York Strip Steak - Served with horseradish smashed potatoes and market fresh vegetable. The horseradish potatoes did not intrigue her so she substituted for French fries. To say the least this was not her favorite steak of the trip.

IMG_5071.jpg

Andy is up Next: Grilled Mahi-Mahi - with laughing bird shrimp, hearts of palm, jasmine rice and a coconut lime sauce. He LOVED it. He keeps asking if we can go back in March but I’m not spending $25 on a piece of fish. Sorry Andy, maybe when we do the dinning plan again.

IMG_5069.jpg

And last but not least My lunch: Seared Chicken Breast - Served over Spaetzle finished with applewood smoked Bacon chicken broth. It was SOOOOO GOOOOOOD. I wrote in my journal that it was the BEST LUNCH EVER!!! Ugh I don’t even know how to descibe it, but it you are ever going to eat at the coral reef and haven’t tried it yet do!!! So good.

IMG_5070.jpg

Don’t let this picture fool you, it seems like a really small portion but it was not. I was so full afterwards I almost didn’t want dessert. To prove to you how good it was and show you that literally I basically licked it clean.

IMG_5072.jpg

Next up came our dessert. We got the chocolate wave all around.

IMG_5073.jpg

DSC04235.jpg

DSC04236.jpg

Ok so this was pretty good, the cake was warm and gooey and crispy at the same time but the chocolate that came out had a wear clear go with it that was a huge turn off for us all. None of us ended finishing them (possibly because we were so full from our delicious entrees).

As we were getting up to leave this guy can and perched at the table right next to us.

DSC04223.jpg

We strolled out of the park because we were too full and too hot to do anything but slowly stroll out of the park

DSC04240.jpg

We headed to the monorail station to head over to the Magic Kingdom. You will never guess what happened next.

Tune In Next Time!!!

Surprise!!!
August 21, 2012

Ok so in my last post I lied. After lunch we didn’t head straight to the monorail… We went and rode Ellen’s Universe of Energy. Going in I promised I wouldn’t fall asleep, but I may or may not have closed my eyes for an extended period of time during the pitch black radio room…

Anyways from there we stepped out in to the Florida heat hopped on the monorail and made our way to the Magic Kingdom to catch up with Danielle and Adam. When we arrived we hopped on the Train and rode it back to Frontierland. Where we grabbed these

IMG_5077.jpg

We waited for what seemed like forever for Danielle and Adam to make it back to that corner of the park. We were waiting out front of Haunted Mansion but the sun was boiling us so we went into the little gift shop right next to the queue. Shortly there after Danielle and Adam came in saying that they had some big news for us…

316881_540859033623_162200254_30796535_7918963_n.jpg

311374_540859058573_162200254_30796536_205131_n.jpg

They had just gotten engaged at the wishing well near Cinderella’s Castle!

306167_540859263163_162200254_30796550_3166697_n.jpg

So after all that excitement we went and jumped in the line for Haunted Mansion.

DSC04241.jpg

DSC04242.jpg

So once we made our way threw the creepiest ride ever, after many foolish spirits had disrupted our doom buggy, we used our fastpases for the wildest ride in the wilderness!!! From there we went over to Mickey’s Philharmagic and on the way we ran into this dance party!!!

DSC04245.jpg

We ducked into one of the gift shops near Country Bear Jamboree and trade my vinilimation

IMG_5082.jpg

Next we headed over to grab some fastpasses for Space Mountain

IMG_5085.jpg

While we waited for our time to role around we decided to do the laugh floor again.

DSC04251.jpg

The show was basically the exact same as when we saw it early in the week so we decided that once a trip is probably enough for this show. We used our Got out and grabbed some fastpasses for Buzz

IMG_5084.jpg

We hopped on Space Mountain and when we got out we all traded our vinilimations again!!!

IMG_5086.jpg

DSC04254.jpg

From there we decided it was time to russel up some grub. So we headed back over to Frontierland to Andy’s favorite quick service in all of Disney World.

IMG_5089.jpg

I really love this place because they have the special little order Kiosks where you just punch in your order, I just think it is so neat!!! So we ordered our food. Andy and I had a little trouble with out touch screen so we took a little longer, meaning everyone was basically don by the time I got to pictures.

Andy and I got taco bowls, and chocolate cake, unfortunately I made the mistake of getting Iced Tea which even though it was sweetened I didn’t end up drinking any of it because it was weird. I made the same mistake with the first meal of our last trip at Pinocchio’s except that time I got unsweetened and it was basically water. Lesson learned do not get Iced Tea in Disney Alicia, it always disappoints lol

IMG_5090.jpg

We gobbled up our tacos and headed out. Up next was Pa’s favorite

IMG_5091.jpg

Which due to a small fire had recently been restored to the original beauty that we all know and love. SO MUCH BETTER than under new management (sorry Zazu and Iago).

DSC04256.jpg

We made our way back to main street singing “in the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room” made out way back up to the bathrooms near the entrance and after a short potty break we decided to pull up a seat for the parade.

EXCITING NEWS!!!!!

Screenshot2012-02-08at81553PM.png

Today I got my email saying that I was accepted to Participate in the Fall 2012 Disney College Program!!!!

I will be working in the costuming department, which I think will be a perfect fit for me because I already work in a costume shop! I am a little bummed that it is a role that gets little to no guest interaction but I am still so grateful for the opportunity. I have my Entertainment Audition on March 16 so fingers crossed I get pulled to be in a parade or something, that would be AMAZING!!! Anyways, i just wanted to update you on my life journey lol Thanks for reading a long. I can't wait to spend 6 months (or possibly the rest of my career) in the Happiest Place on Earth!!!!!!!

Hi Alicia,

I just found your trip report a few days ago and now I'm all caught up! You are ADORABLE and I love your TR. I think it's so cool how your family all loves Disney together :goodvibes

Congrats on the CP!! How exciting! I'm 26 and still in college, if I didn't have a husband/kids I would totally apply for that. So fun :woohoo:

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls!!!!
August 21, 2011

So we had found a pot to stand right near the gate where the parade starts. We didn’t wait very long at all. It was on Andy’s to do list to watch a parade this trip so we decided to humor him. (usually we make a dash back to Frontierland as the parade goes on because as everyone knows that’s prime ride time.)

The music started the gates opened and the floats were off!!!

Minnie Mouse <3

IMG_5097.jpg

When KC was like 4 he had a VHS of this parade but in Disneyland that he watched like a million times a day. I must admit I prefer Spectro Magic.

IMG_5112.jpg

IMG_5114.jpg

Oooooh, how pretty…

IMG_5119.jpg

IMG_5121.jpg

I liked how they talk to the people watching them but I wonder if they ever run out of things to say…

IMG_5125.jpg

It was at this point that I noticed something that would really peeve off the ladies over on the wedding planning boards.

IMG_5128.jpg

A Bride, in her dress, with her flowers?!?! 99.9% of DFTW Brides are told that this is not permitted/illegal. So what is she going there? I got so distracted that I got no more photos of the parade lol.

The parade ended and we headed with the rest of the crowd down Main Street. We stopped in the shop where Andy picked up a zip up that he has is eye on and Sam bought a Tiana skirt.

We made our way the rest of the way to scope out a spot for The Magic Memories and You (our first time seeing it!!!) and Wishes.

We got really good “seats” leaning on the railing/sitting on the ground on the walkway from Main Street to Tommorowland. This was the lovely view from behind

IMG_5146.jpg

We took a lean and we were all set for some magic.

IMG_5133.jpg

The Magic Memories and You had started shortly after, I had purposefully not watched a video of it or listened to the music before hand because I wanted to experience it for the first time in real life and be totally blown away.

IMG_5140.jpg

It was so magically that I couldn’t do anything but watch (sorry for the lack of photos) but literally I felt that knot in my throat, the music and the pictures and ugh. I can honestly say that this is the best thing Disney has ever created <3

We took a short intermission and then Tinkerbell flew over our heads and Wishes began

IMG_5150.jpg

Haha what a sad picture that is, but you get the idea lol

And now I flood you with some obligatory castle shots from wishes.

IMG_5160.jpg

IMG_5165.jpg

IMG_5189.jpg

With the tears streaming down our faces we headed over to Tomorrowland and hopped on the peoplemover and can you believe there was a line?!? You know what that means…

IMG_5199.jpg

Pardon the frizziness and fades purple hair, they Florida water really did a number on my hair. For March I’m going to have to remember my deep conditioner lol

The old people were slowing down…

IMG_5200.jpg

But we had these to use!!!

IMG_5203.jpg

They handed us theirs because they said that their backs couldn’t handle Space Mountain again. God, please don’t ever let that happen to me!!! So as we headed to the line we heard a mother arguing with her two sons because she wanted to head back but the line was over 100 minutes so I stepped in and said, we have two extra fastpasses if you want them. They were SO grateful and we felt so good to be able to help someone out. It rememinded me of our second trip that we took with our studio when a group of 4 of us were dresses the same from Mickey ear to flip flops and some Spanish kids walked up to us and handed us 4 fastpasses. MAGICAL!!!

Anyways so we rode Space Mountain and then headed over to Fantasyland for a magical time on the “kiddy rides”. I had to ride Snow White one last time before they did away with it!!!

IMG_5204.jpg

I love the old dark rides and I am sad that they are doing away with a majority of them

IMG_5205.jpg

I always loved her wooden shoes. I wonder where all of these statues things go once the ride is taken apart?

IMG_5207.jpg

Once we took our (possible) last spin on Snow White’s Scary Adventure we headed over to the Carousel, which looks so beautiful at night

IMG_5208.jpg

From there we went and rode It’s a Small World. Then headed over to Frontierland got soaked on Splash Mountain and debated doing more but we were running on empty. So we decided to stop at a snack card get some frozen lemonades and head back to the room. But not before I stopped on Main Street to check out the fudge situation, I was craving some mint chocolate fudge which they didn’t end up having but we bought Andy’s sister some cute cups instead and moseyed to the bus stop and called it a night at around 1:30.

Tune In Next Time!!!

In the Circle
August 22, 2011

So, today was kind of a sleep in day. Alarm went off at 8 o’lock. Andy and I were headed to Animal Kingdom and Sam and KC were headed to POR (that’s the resort the people from the studio were staying at) to get ready to dance.

Just as Andy and I were ready to leave KC busted through the door freaking out because he had put the wrong shirt on (they all had a purple shirt that was similar to their recital shirt but was slightly different for the Disney performance) so he RAN back from Downtown Disney to change.

Once he left we headed out. It was a steamy day in Florida as you can see by the fog on my camera.

IMG_5211.jpg

Once we made it to Animal Kingdom (the tree is the only major icon we didn’t get our picture with lol no time to stop)

IMG_5214.jpg

we headed for Everest to get fastpasses

IMG_5215.jpg

After we snatched those up we headed back over to Dinoland to get on Dinosaur.

IMG_5216.jpg

Now, I am or may not have mentioned how I am TERRIFIED of this ride.

There was the cutest little British girl next to me who couldn’t have been anymore than six who was telling her dad how she was going to keep her eyes open the whole time and let me just tell you… SHE DID!!! When the ride was over her dad asked her how she liked it she said it was awesome but she had to cover her ears because it was too loud, I turned to her and said, you did better with that than I did and I am 21!!! She was so proud.

We were dropped off into two gift shops and I decided that of course I had to purchase something!!! But it was a magical something that took me back to my first Disney trips when I was really little.

IMG_5219.jpg

And it was a snack credit, so no money was actually spent!!! Ugh these literally are my childhood in a nutshell.

We decided to do another first for Andy ad headed over SUPER early to the first showing of the Festival of the Lion King!!! On our way there we saw this….

IMG_5220.jpg

IMG_5221.jpg

Wait no those are cute. It was something much much less cute than those….

IMG_5305.jpg

I told Andy that we had to step on it because I was not getting stuck in line anywhere near them and that’s where they were talking about heading.

We booked it to the line and we were one of the first ones in line, which meant that I got to enjoy my snack and be misted.

IMG_5225.jpg

IMG_5222.jpg

IMG_5224.jpg

As I said earlier we were there REALLY early so by the time we were let in we looked like this…

IMG_5226.jpg

IMG_5227.jpg

But it was so worth it. Kept me nice and cool.

When we were let in we made our way to the benches on the opposite side and got the very front bench behind the handicap seating. SCORE!!! Until they told us we had to move to make room for the little kids, which I really wouldn’t have had a problem with if they had moved us as soon as we got there but they waited until like all of the seats were filled and then told us to get out of there after all the good seats were taken?!? I was kind of man, it was Andy’s first time seeing it and we got poopy seats but two people ended up moving down so we could sit on the end of a closer row. THANKS!!!

Now for the onslaught of FOTLK pictures.

IMG_5230.jpg

IMG_5238.jpg

And then I saw her!!! Well not really her just it, you see the first time that I saw this show (back when it wasn’t an in closed building but an open air pavilion) I decided that if I were ever to be in the show this is the costume I would want to wear. This is that costume most of the time I keep my on on this person the entire show lol

IMG_5239.jpg

Then Andy found his favorite part of the show

IMG_5251.jpg

IMG_5258.jpg

And my favorite animal

IMG_5252.jpg

IMG_5260.jpg

IMG_5270.jpg

IMG_5285.jpg

Ohp, there is my favorite girl again!!!

IMG_5292.jpg

What a great ending to the show

IMG_5299.jpg

Andy LOVED the show. We quickly gathered our belongings and headed out. Then we saw this and new we had to get away.

IMG_5304.jpg

Off we ran and by ran I mean we walked the fastest we could!!!

Tune In Next Time!!!

Ok so, with this other Disney Trip coming up I am really hoping to have this thing completed before I leave. I mean it should be done already we are getting close to the trip being six months ago!!! I can't even believe it. In addition to the trip I have rehearsals and auditions coming up so I spent ALL day yesterday trying to get it finished. I made it though our 2nd to last day. So from now on I will probably be updating AT LEAST once a day. So don't forget to check back I don't want anyone to get too far behind!!!

Run Away!!!
August 21, 2012

So when we last left off Andy and I were running for our lives, ok maybe that’s a little extreme but we were trying desperately to get away. And we did… phew!

So as we waved to by to Camp Minnie Mickey and their cute little statues

IMG_5306.jpg

we crossed over the bridge and saw the yummy looking swamp water!!!

IMG_5307.jpg

Then I saw this which I thought was REALLY cool.

IMG_5308.jpg

I figured it must have been left over from when Camp Minnie Mickey was originally suppose to be Beastly Kingdom, it only makes sense right because it looks like some kind of reptile. Anyways I thought it was neat. It makes me sad that they just put Camp Minnie Mickey there because they ran out of time/money and it was a quick fix. Oh the things that might have been!!!

ANYWAYS…

We made our way through the park back to Expedition Everest to use our fastpasses.

As we traveled I took some pictures of my beloved giraffes

IMG_5310.jpg

IMG_5311.jpg

As we continued our walk we ran into DeVine!!!

IMG_5313.jpg

IMG_5318.jpg

A large group started to gather and we had places to go and things to do so we trekked onward!!!

We made our way through the fastpass and right to the back of the front of the line. AKA we made it right on in the second to last seat.

IMG_5320.jpg

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Best way to rid this ride. It makes you feel like you are going upside down at the part when you go backwards. It was amazing.

So after our exhilarating ride with the Yeti, we decided it was time to spend another snack credit!!! And you know what that means when you’re in Animal Kingdom!!! Actually you probably don’t know so I’ll just tell you haha

IMG_5321.jpg

It’s a little glass of heaven (but really, it’s from heaven and it’s glowing) on a HOT Animal Kingdom day.

IMG_5322.jpg

Andy and I each took our turn sipping from the strange but eco friendly paper straw

IMG_5323.jpg

IMG_5324.jpg

PERFECTION!!! You can see me starting to smile with happiness lol. So after e gulped down that glass of blue deliciousness we headed over to the train (which was on my “Bucket Liste” for this trip)

IMG_5326.jpg

Thankfully all of our luggage had arrived safely!!!

IMG_5327.jpg

Haha just kidding, but I love that Disney does stuff like this it makes me so happy.

Oh yea, and just in case you were wondering…

IMG_5328.jpg

But really, don’t do it!!!

Shortly there after the train pulled up. I just think it awesome that it’s like sidways. I cant get over it haha

IMG_5329.jpg

IMG_5331.jpg

Awww yea, ridding the sideways train

IMG_5332.jpg

Rafiki welcomed us to his planet watch and we were off

IMG_5334.jpg

IMG_5335.jpg

So this is another thing that Andy had never done before. Man this kid is behind on all things Disney, it’s a good thing he’s got me to catch him up!!!

IMG_5338.jpg

I thought this sign was cute, it was in the room with all the frogs

IMG_5341.jpg

So we hung out there for about 20 minutes. As I recall we made a penny on the way out and we made our way back to the train just as it was pulling up. This sign was in front of us and it made me laugh…

Sit politely, I know the Animals are cute but don’t jump out and touch them!!! I guess it could also be love one another, even if you can’t stand each other that’s no reason to jump out of the train to get away from each other. Either way, I laughed.

IMG_5342.jpg

We made it back just in time to get our butts over to our lunch reservation

Tune In Next Time!!!

Yak and or after the Yeti?
August 22, 2011

We made our way from the quaint little train ride to our dinning destination for the afternoon, which just so happened to be.

IMG_5345.jpg

We got there at 1:15 for our 1:30 reservation. We made a penny and decided to wait around and see if we could see Danielle and Adam, they had a reservation for 1:30 as well but we couldn’t sit together because they only had reservations available to sets of two on the website. We were basically seated right away and said hi/bye just as they walked in.

We were taken upstairs and seated right by the window. I must admit all of the tables we got on this trip were fabulous!!!

Here is Andy showing off our lovely view

IMG_5347.jpg

IMG_5346.jpg

IMG_5350.jpg

We looked over the menu but I really didn’t need to I came her for one reason only Lo Mein!!! Our waiter was SO nice and very efficient. I do think it’s kind of odd that Disney doesn’t run this place but they are inside of a park and accept the dinning plan. Oh well, I wasn’t complaining I had been wanting to try it for a while!!!

I ordered a Spirte and it came with the eco friendly paper straw of course!!! But the real point of this picture was to see the cool table

IMG_5348.jpg

We ordered and I anxiously awaited my delicious Lo Mein

IMG_5349.jpg

And then it arrived. It was literally a mountain of Lo Mein - lo mein noodles, carrots, cabbage, green onions and bean sprouts. Served with chicken $15.99. SO GOOD and I would have eaten it all too if I had a bigger stomach haha. The best part was the 8 million soy sauces they had on the table just waiting to be gobbled up and obviously when I say 8 million there were maybe 4 haha.

IMG_5352.jpg

Andy got Crispy Mahi Mahi - Filet of mahi mahi, Japanese bread crumbs, Cantonese sweet and sour sauce, jasmine rice and stir-fried veggies. - $20.99. He really liked it he just wish that he would have asked for the sauce on the side (as we all know from this report Andy is not an adventurous eater by any means so of course he didn’t like the sauce haha)

IMG_5353.jpg

Enjoying our delicious meal. Notice: Andy’s plate is half empty and even though I made a huge dent in my order you couldn’t tell, it still looked untouched.

IMG_5354.jpg

The mountain could not be conquered

IMG_5355.jpg

I am so ashamed

IMG_5356.jpg

But I had to save room for dessert!!! And since we were headed back to the room right afterwards I just got it to go

IMG_5360.jpg

(of course it made it all the way back to the room and sat in the fridge for the rest of the trip and remained unconquerable, there was just so much food this trip!!!)

Then Andy decided to be adventurous and eat a bean sprout!!!!
IMG_5356.jpg

Verdict….

IMG_5359.jpg

Bahahahaha, he was not a fan. At least he tried!!!

Then our dessert came out. This is another one of those things that I had to have. Of course everyone just goes there for the dumplings or whatever it is with the yogurt sauce but I was not about that. However I was all about the sorbet and since I was so full I was even more about a delicious and refreshing light dessert

IMG_5362.jpg

There was raspberry, lemon and mango. Next time I would ask for two of the raspberry and no mango. I really loved the coconut on the top. Yummm so cold and refreshing.

So we packed up and headed out. It was then that I realized we still had these to use

IMG_5363.jpg

I asked Andy if we could ride again but he was really full and afraid it would make him sick. I may or may not have made him feel guilty until he rode it with me.

Thank goodness we made it off sickness free!!!

We headed ALL THE WAY BACK to the bus stop, we made a quick stop in every place that had air conditioning along the way because it was to hot and sticky to breathe.

IMG_5364.jpg

We exited the park in hopes of hopping right onto an air conditioned bus but of course that didn’t happen, we waited around like 30 min- 45 min with a family of younger kids who were also melting in the heat.

When the bus finally arrived we hopped on it and headed back to Saratoga Springs, we planned on going swimming and waiting for Sam, Kc, Ma and Pa to get back from dancing to head out. But as soon as we got on the bus they started pumping that air-conditioning with the sleeping potion in it and Andy was out

301927_10150751382745507_859095506_19818202_4432618_n.jpg

The heat and running and not sleeping apparently can really get to you!!! I must have fallen asleep shortly there after because I can remember being woken up by my camera flying off my lap and sliding across the floor of the bus.

So in the end rather than going swimming we decided to stay in the air coniditoned castle of a room and sleep for 45 minutes instead.

Those Poor Kids
August 22, 2011

So while Andy and I were off enjoying the sweat Kingdom of Animals KC and Sam were off entertaining the people of Downtown Disney.

They walked to downtown Disney to get a bus to met the people from the studio at Port Orleans Riverside so that they could catch a bus… back to downtown Disney? Lol apparently before hand they did a brush up rehearsal.

DSC04439.jpg

DSC04437.jpg

The bus had to take them to a certain spot in downtown Disney that Sam and KC apparently couldn’t get to unless they were on the bus which was another reason for them having to go meet up with the others.

DSC04436.jpg

The chipper gang made it to the stage all in one piece are were excited to get going!!!

HI SAM!!!

DSC04326.jpg

Mickey got all dresses up for the occasion

DSC04418.jpg

DSC04325.jpg

So they started dancing!!!

DSC04339.jpg

The studio has danced there I want to say 5 or 6 times. We use to dance in the Magic Kingdom and we were allowed to wear costumes. But the rules have changed a lot since then and they have a short time limit so they all just wear the same thing now.

But they seem to have a good time regardless

DSC04335.jpg

And it seems like they had a pretty good turn out

DSC04405.jpg

The poor kids must have been melting by the time they were done. I mean all Andy and I were doing was walking around but these kids were high energy moving around and going crazy. I give them credit. There a billion pictures from this but I figure I would just give you a little taste of what they did.

I Guess There Is Some Sleeping In Disney...
August 22, 2011

After we awoke from our much needed nap, everyone was back at the room and getting ready to head back out for the evening.

We left the room at around 6 to head over to “Hollywood Studios” but not before we got some door pictures (haha apparently most of the trip we forgot to take them!!!)

IMG_5365.jpg

IMG_5366.jpg

IMG_5367.jpg

To the bus stop!!!

IMG_5369.jpg

IMG_5371.jpg

What a massive resort, I couldn’t even tell you which patch of buildings we were haha

IMG_5372.jpg

When we arrived

IMG_5373.jpg

We went straight for the fastpass machines over by Tower of Terror. But of course they were broken!!!

IMG_5376.jpg

So Sam and I did a photo shoot with the gate. “Sam, look scared and terrified of the hotel”

IMG_5374.jpg

Shortly after one of the machines was fixed so we got out fastpasses from there while they took apart the other machine.

IMG_5377.jpg

Fastpasses in hand we were on our way in search of dinner.

IMG_5378.jpg

I feel like we literally just ate, but apparently its time once again to stuff our faces!!! Maybe this guy will give you a clue to where we ate dinner this night…

IMG_5381.jpg

Basically everyone got the same thing. Pepperoni pizza and a caesar salad and a cookie. They told us that they were out of Mickey rice crispies but some how Ma managed to get her hand on one. What a JIP!!!

IMG_5379.jpg

I was the only one to get a veggie pizza. Mmmm I want it right now. The salad and pizza combo, I don’t know who came up with it but THANK YOU!!! This is seriously the most delicious food you can get on Disney property haha but really!!!

IMG_5380.jpg

After dinner we decided since we were in the area that we would go see Muppet Vision 3-D!!! But not before getting a million pictures in front of that cute fountain

IMG_5383.jpg

IMG_5384.jpg

IMG_5387.jpg

312447_541277599813_162200254_30803465_1036047_n.jpg

I just love how the incorporate all of the muppety touches to this area

IMG_5395.jpg

IMG_5396.jpg

Then it was time for the show so we headed in. Right after I said “Sam go make it look like the is grabbing your head!!!” Poor Sam, she is always the one I make do the silly things in photos

IMG_5393.jpg

Check it out 3-D action before we even get in to door!!!

IMG_5394.jpg

IMG_5397.jpg

Hi there!!!

IMG_5400.jpg

When we got in we attempted to make our way all the way down the row, we are patriotic people, but the family in front of us decided to plop down right in the middle of the row. How unpatriotic!!! So joking Pa made a stink about it and said something a long the lines of “don’t you people listen? Move all the way down the row” they didn’t get up so all 8 of us basically crawled over their laps. I bet after that they wish that they would have moved!!!

IMG_5398.jpg

Of course the show was funny as always. But the Swedish Chef wasn’t making an appearance for some reason. So canon for them to shoot off but Statler and Waldorf still surrendered anyways. That was always one of my favorite parts on the vacation planning video from the 90’s.

Trading Like Crazy!!!
August 22, 2011

So after we got out of the show we headed over to the Muppet store

IMG_5403.jpg

Where we all decided to trade our vinilimations. This is the one I got, kinda lame…

IMG_5404.jpg

And here are the whole lot of them

321510_541277664683_162200254_30803468_5038424_n.jpg

We decided that our next stop would be

IMG_5406.jpg

Andy has never done this and I felt like he NEEDED TO!!!

IMG_5407.jpg

I wish that they still had this. When I was growing up I always wanted to be Disney’s next Annette Funcello

IMG_5412.jpg

I took this photo, I don’t really know if you cant tell what it is lol, because when I was younger I went to Disneyland and this was my FAVORTIE part of the entire place. I never actually got close to it I just remember seeing it from really far a way but my goal is to go back and see it up close!!!

IMG_5414.jpg

Dumbo<3

IMG_5415.jpg

I don’t really know why, but I have this new found love for Dumbo and I am sad that it will be closed on my next trip down because I was actually going to ride it!!!

For some reason I really want a tattoo of Walt’s signature, not sure where, I just want it lol

IMG_5420.jpg

This display case made me really sad. Lost EPCOT come back!!!

IMG_5422.jpg

IMG_5425.jpg

Mickey sure has grown up over the years, look how different he looks!!!

IMG_5423.jpg

This is my dream vacation spot. Disneyland Paris, I must make it here at least once in my life

IMG_5426.jpg

So the movie wasn’t starting for a good 15-20 minutes and my impatient family couldn’t wait so we decided to skip it. How sad that made me cry more than the movie itself does. Oh well another thing to add to the list of things to do in March

From there we decided to go use our fastpasses and made our way back down Hollywood Blvd. I had to use the restroom so as everyone went into the villain store to trade vinilimations yet again I handed mine over to Andy. This is the one he got me… what bad luck!!!

IMG_5431.jpg

I needed to get rid of this as soon as possible because it creeped me out!!! I know I am suppose to feel sad for Big Baby but I couldn’t…

Sam got an agein

Oh my God Saratoga's pool :lovestruc I miss it so much. I haven't been there in forever!

I STILL haven't rode sum of all thrills yet! I need to get on that next time!

CORAL REEF YUM! Oh my God yayyy.

Ahh yay you have a tank side table! I have never sat at one before!

YUM THAT STEAK I WANT IT!

YAY FOR THE COLLEGE PROGRAM! Oh my God I'm so excited for you, you have no idea. I can't wait to hear all about it. I hope that the audition goes well... if they don't notice how amazing of a dancer you are there is going to be a BIG problem! But hey, the costuming would be AWESOME. Oh my gosh if I had the skill level I would dedicate my entire life to working for costuming at Disney. I saw the costume area on a tour a few years ago and I fell in LOVE. It the absolute coolest thing I have ever seen. And you get to work with DISNEY COSTUMES. It's ridiculously fantastic. So whatever ends up happening.... I'm sure you are going to have the greatest role ever!

Anyways.... I prefer SpectroMagic too. I heard they're bringing it back so I'm REALLY happy about that!

Magic Memories and You is my FAVORITE show. Oh my God. I have listened to the soundtrack WAYYY too many times.

Aww that's SO nice of you to give away your fastpasses. That probably saved them SO much frustration.

How do you even eat those jawbreakers!? hahaha
....Ahh you have pictures. Now I understand. Very nice trip reporting.

I can't believe they made you move! That's absolutely ridiculous! I would have been SO mad haha

Yay for lots of updates! I will try and keep up as much as I can! I think during our March break I am going to try and write a ton of updates so I can post them even when I'm super busy at school. I HAVE NO TIME.

The back car is definitely the best in Expedition Everest... I totally agree!

Haha good job on updating Andy on Disney! That's our job as the Disney obsessed girls!

That Princess and the Frog sign is PERFECT. Love that.

YESSS YAK AND YETI! THE LO MEIN IS MY FAVORITE THING IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. Oh my God. Ahhh. I am dying I miss Disney food SOOO much :(

Hey Alicia, Thanks for the fantastic trip report. I am planning our first ever trip to WDW this August, and reading some trip reports has helped me plan, but even more so, made me really excited to go. I am taking my family, DW, and two DD's (4 and 7). We are staying at POR in a Royal Room August 21-28. Your TR for August was great, because I was hoping to get some perspective on what it was like at WDW in late August. We are from Southern Ontario, and will be flying Southwest out of Buffalo, like yourselves.

Also, congratulations on the Disney College Program. That sounds like a lot of fun. All the best for your next trip, and I will look for the report when you return. Cheers.

Thank you!!! I AM SO EXICTED :scared1: Thanks for the good luck at the audition, I can't wait for that part. I know it's hard to get into entertainment through the college program so I'm not getting my hopes too high. I am just so thankful to get to go down and get my foot in the door!!!

I'm so glad that my report can help you out a little. Thanks for reading along :goodvibes

You Are Stuck In The Twilight Zone!!!
August 22, 2011

As we made our way down Hollywood Blvd. we approached the Hollywood Tower hotel and jumped in line.

I’m not sure if this is Andy trying to give his best impression of the creepy cast members or what but that’s what I am going to assume it is.

IMG_5438.jpg

Sam was kissing ghosts

310667_541277769473_162200254_30803473_7455180_n.jpg

Andy and I were just taking we are so happy in Disney photos haha

IMG_5439.jpg

IMG_5448.jpg

We made our way through the library and into the long line in the basement. LONG line so sam decided to do some hair braiding

DSC04462.jpg

293295_541277934143_162200254_30803480_872563_n.jpg

After we were done dropping 13 stories we headed over to Rock n’ Rolletcoaster. The wait time was very deceiving. It said like 45 minutes but it ended up being like an hour and a half. So obviously we had to…

IMG_5454.jpg

IMG_5455.jpg

But then they finished before they even made it into the building

IMG_5453.jpg

After that long wait the parents decided to ditch us and once again it was Andy, Sam, KC and myself left to roam. We headed over to Toy Story Mania to try our luck at it.

IMG_5459.jpg

Someone’s getting sleepy

IMG_5460.jpg

Bullseye

IMG_5463.jpg

I loved this game when I was younger

IMG_5466.jpg

We made it to our car and it was MY FAVORITE TOY STORY CHARCATER!!!!

IMG_5467.jpg

She is perfect. I can’t wait for m March trip, I hope we get to stay in the toy story section. Either way I am getting my picture with her. Am keeps telling me “they took her down to repaint her”. I would seriously cry.

And the scores
IMG_5468.jpg

I’m pretty sure Andy won, he always does… haha

We made our way back to ride Tower of Terror one more time for this trip. First a few pictures of use with light up things and the big hat!!!

IMG_5471.jpg

IMG_5472.jpg

IMG_5479.jpg

IMG_5481.jpg

We checked in one final time, but little did we know this time we would be checking in for longer than expected.

IMG_5484.jpg

We made our way through the line and in the basement Sam took these photos which I keep meaning to like edit and put together but don’t have time to do haha

DSC04460.jpg

DSC04461.jpg

So we got on the ride and we were going through all fine and then all of a sudden the ride stopped. Right after the floor where you see the ghosts and they welcome you/tell you to get out and we just stopped. It was pitch black and people we like “WHAT?!?” we sat in the dark for about 3 or 4 minute and thought we were going to die. Then the lights came on and someone from the control booth started to talk to us, they told us how they could see us through a camera in the upper corner of the elevator, so we waved to them and asked what was happening… apparently their camera didn’t have speakers because they just kept saying we will fix the ride momentarily. The people sitting behind us were so funny!!! After about 10 minutes we started going back down, they tried to unloaded us from the elevator but the seat belts wouldn’t unlock so we were stuck a little longer. We finally got out

IMG_5487.jpg

This is Sam being happy to still be alive and on the ground. While we were in there we kept joking that the elevator was going to drop and there were some people who were in there riding for the first time that thought we were serious. I think it would have been cool to be evacuated from the ride but they brought us down and put us on a different elevator.

So needless to say it was a very eventful last ride on the Tower of Terror.

We exited the park stopping for popcorn for Andy and I FINALLY got my mint chocolate fudge which was delicious.
