Crazy Eights take on the World: Spoiled Silly (Aug 2011 TR) Life Update: May 23!!!

And They Went Weah Weah Weaaaaah, All The Way Home
August 24, 2012

When I last left off we were just about to enjoy what we all thought would be a leisurely stroll back to the bus stop of Fort Wilderness Campground. It did not turn out that way at all…

Just as we were rounding the corner we saw that a bus was at the bus stop and we were sure how often they came around so the race was on, except we were all so stuffed and it was so hot that none of us wanted to run. Luckily Adam picked up our slack ran ahead and asked the bus to wait so we made it with no major trouble.

Full stuffed and cheerful

So we got off that bus at the main bus stop and decided that since we had some time left we would spend the remainder of our day shopping around at Downtown Disney.

But as luck would have it the buses REALLY DIDN’T like us that day. AT ALL!!! We waited and waited and waited. We were just about to use the other two taxi vouchers that the front desk gave us when a bus pulled up and we jumped on it.

If I recall correctly we had about an hour and a half to spend once we arrived. The game plan: Go buy last minute items, head to Goofy’s Candy Co. to use up all the snack credits and then head to Earl of Sandwich for some on the run dinner. OK BREAK.

The thing is we arrived and it started to downpour and boy do I mean DOWNPOUR!!! Before we knew it everyone was scattered around world of Disney snagging things and going absolutely crazy, we don’t do well with time constraints apparently. My last minute items consisted of these cute pens

IMG_5759.jpg

And some Mickey Rain boots. I AM OBSESSED with rain boots. My freshman year of college I got a pair for Christmas and when I wore them around everyone laughed at me now they are a hug fashion thing so HA!!! To all those people who laughed at me. But since when I have gone through 3 pairs of them because I wear them so often the rubber wears out and they get holes in them.

And bought some last minute items for his family and we took Sam to get chased out. From there we realized that we have maybe 20-30 minutes at most to make it back to the resort in time to catch the Magical Express.

Great just what we need more stress. Thunder and lighting crashing, buckets of water coming down, shopping bags in hand Sam, Andy and I try to make a game plan but Ma books it out the door and says “Meet you later” What the heck?!? Next thing I now EVERYONE is gone so I call Pa and he says he is already at Earl’s with KC but they have no idea where Danielle and Adam are.

So we split up. Sam and I to Goofy’s too get snacks and Andy took our lunch orders and went to meet Pa and KC and Earl’s.

We spend all our snack credits without almost any trouble. It’s funny how you can spend your entire trip making a list of all the things you want but then when it comes down to crunch time you become the most indecisive person EVER, well maybe that’s just me.

I picked up

IMG_5758.jpg

And got Andy one of the lollypops because he is huge on pure sugar things.

We spent all the snacks just as the boys arrived with the food.

They had successfully spent all of the quick service credits except one. They also just decide to skip on half the drinks for the meals they did use because they had no way of carrying all the cups. Keep in mind we still had no idea where Danielle and Adam were…

There was no time to waste so we set out in the rain to the bus but then we remembered the bus would first stop at the other end of Downtown Disney and the possibly a water park so we passed.

Unfortunately that meant trekking all the way back to the springs section of the resort. The walk from Congress Park to DtD was short but the walk to the springs was probably like 15-20 minutes. But we really had no choice we had to make it back to catch the bus to the airport.

DSC04555.jpg

I literally cried the entire walk back. I was cold and sticky and wet and my bags we heavy… Happy Last day in Disney. We should have taken this as a sign to just not leave!!! But nope our sad wet bodies waited for the sad bus to come get us.

DSC04556.jpg

We made it back with maybe 10 minutes to spare but there was still no sign of Danielle and Adam…

We all tried calling her but she didn’t answer. Called Adam and he didn’t answer either. Magical Express came and Magical Express went we didn’t get on it. Yep that’s right, we missed the bus to the airport!!! Oh darn too bad.

So we asked and luckily there was another bus coming within a half an hour and they told us there was room on that one. So, sadly we would be going home anyways. All that was left to do was wait it out. I really enjoy this one because you can see the downpour in the background

IMG_5728.jpg

Wet rats!!! Oh I’m sorry Mice.

IMG_5729.jpg

We still had no idea where the other two were and this caused quite the hubbub amongst the family. So I went in to try to come out my drown rat hair, Ma ran in to use up the last quick service meal.

While we were inside a lady saw Mine and Andy’s Just Engaged Buttons and Gave us each a free Disney pin from her lanyard. Picked a monorail pin (which later fell off while I was at school last semester) and Andy picked an Aladdin pin

IMG_5766.jpg

After a little waiting finally Danielle and Adam showed up. Apparently they decided they didn’t want to stick to the game plan of a quick lunch from Earl of Sandwich so they decided to go to Wolfgang Puck Express. At this point it was one of those Are you Kidding me?!? Moments. And then they told us how “it was raining to hard for them to walk back” so they hopped on a bus. Which took them to the other end of DtD or something like that. EVERYONE was crabby and it was raining and we were leaving. NOT A GOOD DAY…

We tried to get happy

IMG_5731.jpg

IMG_5732.jpg

But we were leaving Disney so all those smiles were lies!!!

We did however had bags full of Earl of Sandwich so that made the day a little brighter

IMG_5734.jpg

And I had Mickey rain boots so it was even better

And before we knew it the sad bus arrived and we were headed into the worst and saddest leg of the trip ):

Tune In One Final Time!!!

Just found your TR and am all caught up! Congrats on all the "real" life happenings... thanks for the entertaining read!

Thank you and thanks for reading along!!! I'm kind of sad that it's coming to a close. Oh well guess I'll just have to take another trip and write about it haha :rolleyes1

Disney Crafts and Trip Information Update!!!

Hey everyone we are vastly approaching our departure date. 3 days 2 hours and 36 minutes!!! Ahhhh spur of the moment trip planning is so much fun and so stressful at the same time.

So let me just you a little back story on how this trip came to be. I graduated on the 12th about a week or two before that Bobby (a friend of mine from school who is just finishing up doing College Program now) posted on my facebook wall saying that his family has time share points to use up at Bonnet Creek for a few days and that I should fly down and see him because all I would need to pay for is the flight and he would take care of the rest.

This really got me wanting to visit again. So I sulked around a little because I wasn’t able to go. On the day of graduation I got an envelope in the mail from my school my grandmother said that it was a bill I opened it up and to my surprise it was my last work study pay check, all those hours in the costume shop really paid off!!!

So I just kept saying I’m going to Disney for graduation!!! On May 13th (mothers day) my mother asked me where I wanted to go for my last family vacation before I moved away, of course I said Disney but she wasn’t biting. So just for the heck of she was playing around on southwest.com and found a really great deal for Andy and I to go for just over $300 a person for flight and room she then said “It would be even cheaper if you took your sister with you!!!” So I immediately texted Sam and was like I’m going to Disney want to come with me?!”

Just after that my friend Keirsten (another friend from school who was with me on my March trip) called and said that she needed to see me before she left, she is studying abroad in London this summer and wanted to say goodbye so I went up to Niagara Falls to help her pack and say goodbye before she left for the summer. While there my sister and Andy both texted me asking if I was serious. Obviously I was, I’m not one to joke about Disney!!!

I got home that night and started fake planning with Sam. She really wanted to go but she also wants to visit me in the Fall so that we can go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. So we started scoping out deals and she asked her friend Brittany if she would like to join us.

We went to sleep super excited and hesitant at the same time. We promised we would wake up early the next morning and discuss it more. I literally couldn’t sleep that night. Ugh it was killing me I just wanted to book it!!! The next morning I woke up and Sam said “go back to sleep, you are going to be sad airline flights went up”

BOOOOOOO. So then my world crumbled a little and I cried as I felt a Disney trip being torn away fro me… But then a light bulb when off in my head, I know a handful of people down there now doing the college program so I reached out to all of them and asked if there was anything they could do to help. A mutual friend of mine and Sam’s said that she would love to help but she is coming home for memorial day so the most she could do was get us 40% off the room but if we knew someone who could check us in we could get 50% off.

We didn’t want the fight prices to go up so we booked those right away. Going down on JetBlue (I have never flown anything but southwest so I am a little nervous for this) and Southwest coming back. We looked and it was actually cheaper to fly out the night before than it was to fly in the following morning and the price difference was equal to that of the room. This was a great deal because we wouldn’t have been getting into the airport until 1 or 2 in the afternoon wasting a whole park day. So we booked the flights and I called Bobby.

Onto Bobby who is literally the reason for this trip he booked us the room that night but he was only able to get us the discount at POP for the second half of our stay. We said book it and we’ll stay at the All Stars for the first half!!! He gave us the total and when we did the math the price was not discounted so to be safe my mother actually went on and booked a second room at regular price for the entire week.

The next day I woke up and decided to do some Disney crafts!!! I love arts and crafts they are literally my favorite thing. A while ago I bought cheap Mickey Ears off eBay because I was thinking about making Andy a pair. Never got around to it so I decided to make myself a pair for the upcoming trip. I went to the dollar store and bought some glue and I had an old headband lying around the house and decided just to play with it

This is what I started with…

IMG_7734.jpg

It was a beautiful sunny day so I decided to work on my tan and glitter the ears outside. I covered the ears with basic tacky glue from JoAnn’s

As9BCa1CIAEC0Pujpg-large.jpg

Then I did a bad thing. I cut up the ears. I felt like a murder when I was doing it. Ugh it broke my heart but they were $3 so I didn’t feel too bad. I cut out the ears leaving just enough felt around the edges and I then used my sewing skills and sewed the ears to the headband. The bow that I used was actually on the headband I just ripped it off and repositioned it. And here is the end result.

IMG_7736.jpg

The purple ones are mine. Sam and her friend Brittany liked them so much she came over the next day and I made them some with the foam ears they had gotten from their cotton candy at Disney on Ice.

Anyways back to trip planning!!! I figured you could use a nice break from reading.

While I was outside enjoying the sun (listening to my beloved tower of terror music loop <3) Bobby had been frantically trying to get a hold of me. Whoops…

He called Disney and was able to get half our stay discounted but the first day or two was blocked off because it was a holiday. He said there were no rooms left for the first two nights of our stay at any of the value resorts or at the moderates, the only two places with availability were Saratoga Springs (two separate rooms each a king size bed) and Animal Kingdom Lodge totaling over $600 a night. I almost lost it I was nervous and ready to puke because we had plane tickets but nowhere to sleep!!! I was beginning to think it was a terrible idea booking the flight that we thought was going to be a great idea. Bobby said worst comes to worst you can all sleep on the floor of my apartment I leave here the day after you so the worst they can do is kick me out.

Then I remember!!! The night before ma booked a room the entire length of our stay!!! What a lifesaver, AHHH I started screaming and told Bobby. He told the cast member he was on the phone with and they were able to morph the two reservations together!!!

All was well again and we were all SO HAPPY!!! A huge thanks to Bobby for working it all out for us!!!

So now the game plan: Bobby has 2 main gate passes left which can each get 3 people into the parks. Which means that we will split the cost of a two day park hopper for one of us and we will do all 4 parks in 2 days!!! Thank goodness Magic Kingdom has 3 am extra Magic hours.

We are staying at All Star Music and we can’t wait to have a full day in Disney where we do outside of the park things. We have major plans that I am going to keep a secret until the trip report.

Two days ago I went out to get the mail and I was saddened because my school’s theatre sends out a newsletter at the end of every semester and there were Little Women pictures all over it. I was suddenly SO SAD, so sad as a matter of fact that I missed out on these beauties

IMG_7737.jpg

Our Disney pins that we ordered from eBay and our Mickey mail!!!

Atb36pxCMAEcy97.jpg

Suddenly, at the sight of the yellow tags, I was feeling the slightest bit better. Although we won’t be able to use the yellow tags because our plan arrives too late in the evening.

Oh well I’M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!! That’s the long story of how the trip came about. Sorry for so much reading. But I can’t wait to get back and share all of the excitement with you!!!

Can I just say how I started cracking up when I saw your ticker? :rotfl: YOLO TRIP! You're perfect hahaha

Don't even worry about flying Jet Blue! I actually like it even better than southwest. I fly both of them all the time. You'll love it - you get TV's!

And ahhh such cute minnie ears! Love them! I'm so excited for your trip!!

We have so many funny little sayings for why we go back. YOLO just seems to sum them all up. When we were planning that's all we kept saying: Airline tickets went up...? YOLO!!! We have no place to stay the first two nights of our trip...? YOLO!!! Andy literally hates the word so he's a little less than thrilled that we chose it but YOLO!!! haha

That's a relief, I am just terrified for checking in now. But Sam's friend flies JetBlue all the time. But maybe it will be less stressful since we won't be leaving until late at night.

I DID IT.:cool1:
I read straight through in one sitting.

Is it weird that I think your family is adorable?! :rolleyes1

So how does this vinylmation trading thing go?
It sounds like a lot of fun, especially since I already have some vinylmation.

I'm also reading your YOLO TR too

Oh my goodness the entire thing in one sitting, props to you!!! Thanks for reading :thumbsup2

Haha not at all, we appreciate it.

Disney has actually cut back on in a lot in my opinion. BUT When were were just there in my we were still able to have some fun with it. Basically, you have a vinlymation that you want to trade and you go into different gift shops and they have Black Mystery boxes number 1-something some of them are small and only have 10 and I believe some go up to like 25. All you have to do is let the cast member know that you are looking to trade. You pick a number (some places let you pick more than one) They show the one behind the number you pick and you can either chose to take it or leave it behind. My family takes it no matter what just to see how many we can get in one trip. Hope that helps

Yay!!! I hope that you enjoy the new TR.

My Monday morning was spent listening to the crazy thunder outside and reading this trip report! Yay for summer vacation! I had a blast seeing all of the Alicia faces, and of course, reading about the moment when you and Andy got engaged!!! I didn't expect it until I saw the big gap between pictures and was like, OMG OMG OMG, haha.

Anyway, I had such a blast getting to "know" you and your family since your parents aren't in your YOLO TR. Your parents are the absolute cutest, and I love how Sam has to braid hair all the time during wait times! Wish I had a sister to braid my hair because it's getting mighty long (I cut it every 2 years to donate, and I'm at the 2 year mark now but not willing to take the plunge yet).

WOOHOO, I still have your spring break TR!

I found your PTR for your upcoming move and piggy backed to this from that. You and your family are adorable. I live in Rochester but lived in Buffalo for about 8 years before that. Went to UB. My SIL is an NU grad. I still miss Buffalo. I loved reading this and am off to read your other TRs.
