And They Went Weah Weah Weaaaaah, All The Way Home
August 24, 2012
When I last left off we were just about to enjoy what we all thought would be a leisurely stroll back to the bus stop of Fort Wilderness Campground. It did not turn out that way at all…
Just as we were rounding the corner we saw that a bus was at the bus stop and we were sure how often they came around so the race was on, except we were all so stuffed and it was so hot that none of us wanted to run. Luckily Adam picked up our slack ran ahead and asked the bus to wait so we made it with no major trouble.
Full stuffed and cheerful
So we got off that bus at the main bus stop and decided that since we had some time left we would spend the remainder of our day shopping around at Downtown Disney.
But as luck would have it the buses REALLY DIDN’T like us that day. AT ALL!!! We waited and waited and waited. We were just about to use the other two taxi vouchers that the front desk gave us when a bus pulled up and we jumped on it.
If I recall correctly we had about an hour and a half to spend once we arrived. The game plan: Go buy last minute items, head to Goofy’s Candy Co. to use up all the snack credits and then head to Earl of Sandwich for some on the run dinner. OK BREAK.
The thing is we arrived and it started to downpour and boy do I mean DOWNPOUR!!! Before we knew it everyone was scattered around world of Disney snagging things and going absolutely crazy, we don’t do well with time constraints apparently. My last minute items consisted of these cute pens
And some Mickey Rain boots. I AM OBSESSED with rain boots. My freshman year of college I got a pair for Christmas and when I wore them around everyone laughed at me now they are a hug fashion thing so HA!!! To all those people who laughed at me. But since when I have gone through 3 pairs of them because I wear them so often the rubber wears out and they get holes in them.
And bought some last minute items for his family and we took Sam to get chased out. From there we realized that we have maybe 20-30 minutes at most to make it back to the resort in time to catch the Magical Express.
Great just what we need more stress. Thunder and lighting crashing, buckets of water coming down, shopping bags in hand Sam, Andy and I try to make a game plan but Ma books it out the door and says “Meet you later” What the heck?!? Next thing I now EVERYONE is gone so I call Pa and he says he is already at Earl’s with KC but they have no idea where Danielle and Adam are.
So we split up. Sam and I to Goofy’s too get snacks and Andy took our lunch orders and went to meet Pa and KC and Earl’s.
We spend all our snack credits without almost any trouble. It’s funny how you can spend your entire trip making a list of all the things you want but then when it comes down to crunch time you become the most indecisive person EVER, well maybe that’s just me.
I picked up
And got Andy one of the lollypops because he is huge on pure sugar things.
We spent all the snacks just as the boys arrived with the food.
They had successfully spent all of the quick service credits except one. They also just decide to skip on half the drinks for the meals they did use because they had no way of carrying all the cups. Keep in mind we still had no idea where Danielle and Adam were…
There was no time to waste so we set out in the rain to the bus but then we remembered the bus would first stop at the other end of Downtown Disney and the possibly a water park so we passed.
Unfortunately that meant trekking all the way back to the springs section of the resort. The walk from Congress Park to DtD was short but the walk to the springs was probably like 15-20 minutes. But we really had no choice we had to make it back to catch the bus to the airport.
I literally cried the entire walk back. I was cold and sticky and wet and my bags we heavy… Happy Last day in Disney. We should have taken this as a sign to just not leave!!! But nope our sad wet bodies waited for the sad bus to come get us.
We made it back with maybe 10 minutes to spare but there was still no sign of Danielle and Adam…
We all tried calling her but she didn’t answer. Called Adam and he didn’t answer either. Magical Express came and Magical Express went we didn’t get on it. Yep that’s right, we missed the bus to the airport!!! Oh darn too bad.
So we asked and luckily there was another bus coming within a half an hour and they told us there was room on that one. So, sadly we would be going home anyways. All that was left to do was wait it out. I really enjoy this one because you can see the downpour in the background
Wet rats!!! Oh I’m sorry Mice.
We still had no idea where the other two were and this caused quite the hubbub amongst the family. So I went in to try to come out my drown rat hair, Ma ran in to use up the last quick service meal.
While we were inside a lady saw Mine and Andy’s Just Engaged Buttons and Gave us each a free Disney pin from her lanyard. Picked a monorail pin (which later fell off while I was at school last semester) and Andy picked an Aladdin pin
After a little waiting finally Danielle and Adam showed up. Apparently they decided they didn’t want to stick to the game plan of a quick lunch from Earl of Sandwich so they decided to go to Wolfgang Puck Express. At this point it was one of those Are you Kidding me?!? Moments. And then they told us how “it was raining to hard for them to walk back” so they hopped on a bus. Which took them to the other end of DtD or something like that. EVERYONE was crabby and it was raining and we were leaving. NOT A GOOD DAY…
We tried to get happy
But we were leaving Disney so all those smiles were lies!!!
We did however had bags full of Earl of Sandwich so that made the day a little brighter
And I had Mickey rain boots so it was even better
And before we knew it the sad bus arrived and we were headed into the worst and saddest leg of the trip ):
Tune In One Final Time!!!
