Craziest tip to get pregnant

Quit you job. As soon as you have no income, that's when the surprise will come.

Or the opposite.

I unexpectedly got pregnant the WEEK I started my new job. :headache:

Let's see, how to get pregnant? when your first child turns 5 and starts full-day kindergarten, give away your crib and maternity clothes. If you are pretty sure lightning isn't going to strike twice, buy a house. And a car. And enroll in a Masters Degree Nursing program. :rolleyes1

You have a 50/50 chance of getting what you want with each pregnancy *does not depend on the sex of your other children. You either get XX or XY each time. Therefore, it does not improve your chances if you have 6 boys and you're trying for a girl. It's still 50/50.* I never put any stock in the whole boy/girl issue. I was just happy it wasn't a puppy!

Sort of-my OB told me after three boys in a row (one still birth and two live babies) that my body chemistry obviously favored the male sperms-and that we could try and try and the odds we would get a girl were only 5 in 100. I had had two wickedly complicated pregenancies so we decided two healthy sons was enough and quit.

I don't know how factual it is but I've heard that it has to do with Ph and such.

I know my son is the first grandchild on my DH's side... and he makes the 5th generation of their family of ALL sons.
Not one girl. (even his cousin has two sons)

OK. I am due on December 2nd. This is what worked for us. First, you have to be told that you cannot, under any circumstances, have children. Then, you have to convince everyone you know, especially his mother that really REALLY wanted him to have a child, that it will NEVER happen. Explain that you don't want to adopt because you already have a teenager. (I have a DS that is 13!) Then, once everyone is completely convinced, start making travel plans. Ours were for years. I want to go to Hawaii, Vegas, Egypt, Ireland, England, Italy. Once you start making plans....BAM! You get pregnant. Now you get to tell everyone that even though you cannot possibly have any children, you got pregnant just the same. And just for kicks....make sure there is a 13 year age difference between the kids. DS should be 31 years old when the baby graduates high school. So that is my advice.

I showed up to my appointment pregnant and didn't know it.

ME TOO!!!

I just had an appointment on Oct 1st. Turns out I was already preggos and found out on Oct 6th. Figures, right? After trying for allllll that time.

lOL, actually if I got pregnant now-it BETTER be a puppy:rotfl:

I have read that the more children you have of one sex, the less chance you have of having a different sex. For example, if you already have 5 boys, odds are that you will have another boy. I'm too lazy to look it up right now, but I really remember reading that:laughing:

There is a great book called 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility' by Toni Weschler I believe. I think every woman should rad it but especially if you are trying to concieve. Good luck!!

This is a GREAT book!!

The cough syrup works as well, not to get you pregnant but a great aid to help the swimmers. Try it some month and you will notice a difference in your "fluids!!"

I took me 8 months to concieved DS following all the rules. I ended up getting PG with him a few weeks after we moved from Chicago to Florida, both started new jobs, both traveled opposite weeks that month and only saw each other for one night 5 days AFTER what I thought was my fertile time AND using non-sperm friendly aids and positions.

This time it took 10 months of perfect timing, perfecting charting. What worked this time was taking Soy Isoflavones (supposed natural step-sister to the RX Clomid). I found out the morning of my appointment with a fertility specialist to see what was up.

The timing can effect the gender as can the Ph of the women's body. Alkaline enviroments can favor the X or Y sperm and vice versa. Also, the girl sperm are slower and more hardy so the further out from ovulation you have sex, the closer your chances are to having a girl because they swim slower and last longer. The boy sperm move much faster but die quicker. We DTD literally 3 hours before I O'd this time so while I pray for a girl and feel it MIGHT be a girl, reality speaking it's probably a boy!!

Good Luck.

Lunaception - It's a process of aligning your monthly cycle with the moon to help produce a stronger ovulation.

ME TOO!!!

Ohhh congratulations! Funny how it happened that way. The fertility doctor called me at home the next day to say he "had the magic touch.":rotfl: Think of ALL the $ we saved.

Adopt a child. As soon as you adopt, you will get pregnant!

I actually ovulated 5 days after doing the deed when I got pg with DD. I was taking my morning temp before moving around in the morning to determine when I had ovulated. I had the thermometer taped to the headboard so all I had to do was grab it in the morning and put it in my mouth.

Well, I had to go out of town for a convention so I thought we missed the boat that month since my temp spiked 6 days after we tried which meant I had ovulated 5 days later than normal. Low and behold I was pregnant and had a girl, so the female sperm lived for 5 days before ovulation took place.

My friend tried for a couple of years, fertility doctor & all & she was starting to give up. She heard from a lady in a health food store to put a pillow under her during butt to tilt her pelvis during sex & she concieved. I know it sounds simple...but who knows?
PS she didn't get up for an hour after..she just stayed on that pillow!:thumbsup2

Yep, this worked for me! :thumbsup2 :lmao:
I was told this by a cousin that never had any problems getting pregnant. She said she tried it with each of her pregnancies. Sure enough...my last pregnancy, I tried it...stayed on that pillow for 30 minutes after we were done! BINGO! lol:rotfl2:

You have to try really hard, see multiple doctors, have losses and surgeries, undergo uncomfortable ultrasounds and shots and drugs and shed many tears. Then you have to give birth to a premie.

Apparently after that you only have to have your DH look at you lecherously, and you will have another baby less than a year later.

Good luck to you, Amanda.

You'll want to Google this for details, but I remember a few years ago that one fertility clinic had great success prescribing a type of cough syrup. The theory was that thickened body fluids kept the little buggers from swimming upstream. The cough syrup was effective at changing the body chemistry and several couples claimed it worked.
Good luck!

This works!!! We tried for 3 years before someone told me this. We were working with the Cleveland Clinic and nothing was happening. I took Robitussin (sp) and wham! I was pregnant. Good luck!

Oh, yeah, that too. My sister's children are exactly to the day 14 years apart. She was 40 years old when she had #2--what was she thinking! It's like having two "onlies". (like I've got room to talk--I had my last two at 38 & 40 )

My own kids are 23, 16, & 14, a 9 year spread. When my youngest one turns 21yo I will be 6 months short of drawing Social Security. :scared1:

Ok, many years of treatment here....the cough syrup is Robitussin (D, I believe).

May be TMI for some so, stop now ......you need to prop your butt up with pillows or have them up on a coffee table. Gravity is important.

$25,000 of treatment, this is the advise I have for you.....Good luck!

I havent read all the posts but I remember that drinking grapefruit juice was supposed to help. Not sure why but I did it and I did get pregnant.

I don't know about crazy, but the "just relax" advice really burned my butt. I know how to relax, but ovulating, not so much. It did work out for us**note avatar**but it wasn't easy or simple or cheap.

I don't know how factual it is but I've heard that it has to do with Ph and such.

Not necessarily. My DH and I tried to get pregnant for 6 months. I checked my PH during ovulation. It averaged between 8-9. There was an article that said it's almost impossible for X sperm to survive in a highly alkaline environment. So for 5 months I thought for sure I was having a boy. Then on 9-21 the ultrasound tech said "It's a girl!" She said God is only 100% sure, but she clearly saw the *****. Don't know what you could mistake that for. :confused3
