HEIDI!!! I went to that thread and maybe I am preoccupied with other things going on at the moment, but I got WAY lost and everybody else figured it out...maybe that is my age!!!! Heidi, prices for a DCL has really changed since the frist time we cruised in 2003. In 2003 we just decided in June we wanted to cruise ( I should say I had some extra money and I wanted to do this) and were about to secure a Cat 6 for 4 for October for a 3 night cruise. I paid less than $2000 for it. We only spend about $1000 more with travel and other expernses. We booked our 7 day while on that cruise. We were about to get a 7 day for Oct 2004 Cat 6 with 4 people for $4000. My TA took it over and saved me another $150. With paying the $1000 deposit it was like a vacation for $3000. You quickly forget just what you pay for the cruise itself because you have to pay the depost so early. Then you pay for the cruise about 90 days out. So wow you forget you have already paid out $4000. We drove down and my %$@* of a FL made me pay for the gas and the rental vehicle. So that was the same I could have purchased airline tickets for the three of us. This is when DH was in Florida. Then we spend about $2000. You add all of that up and I spend about $8000. I was shocked at it all. I love Disney but I did not think the whole vacation was worht more than $1142.86 a day that we paid. I just think Disney is over pricing for the average family. I say family because if we did not have children the price would not matter.

When I went to book the 7 day I wanted for 2006 I just could not beleive that it was going to be over $6500 for a 7 day cruise for 4 people. I checked rates a year in advance. I just could not see doing it. With everything that is going on here I am not sure if and when the 2007 rates come out if I can swing the $1000 deposit. Until we know exactly what is going on with our situation I can not commit that kind of money. I have already paid $1000 for our November 2006 cruise with RCI. Which I might have to cancel. I really want what we are hoping will happen to happen. But until it does and we know exactly how things will work, I am scared to spend any money I might need later. I know that really sounds stupid. I hope to tell you what it is in the next two weeks. That is the timeline we have been given on this situation.

Wow, that was extremely expensive!!!! My bf's mom said for her to go on the 10 day in September for a Category 4 would be $10,000. There was no way I would pay that much, now $3,000 I will pay!!!

Just wanted to say hi to everyone! I am on a generator, on AOL dial-up. We have no cable internet. It is so nice to have a generator though. I have been so busy. Had to clean out my refrigerator. And, doing more things by hand. People are so nice though, we can get ice everyday at different places in our area. Hopefully in the next few days we will have power again.

My in-laws house is a complete loss. I've been there all day helping them. The house is starting to get mold all in it and my fil decided to get on the roof and then fell through. He had to go to the emergency room and is now on tylenol 3. Then, my MIL fell carrying a big plant and chipped a bone in her ankle. It is sad, they lost so much and now they can't do much. They are about 70ish. My DH has to work since he works for the electric company but one of his brothers will be in this weekend to help them. I've been pretty much there only help. And, I can't carry big furniture out of their house. The good news is, they decided to sell us their lot for really cheap. They just want to buy a new house and we have been wanting to live in the town they live in. So, when this is all over, we will be building a new house. First we have to tear down what's left of their house. Well, before that, we have to fix our roof. Oh wow, what an adventure. I will be busy for a year.

I do still have my vacation to look forward to. I wonder if I will just sleep the whole time. Haha. My DD is still not back in school. I think they go back in another week. She has learned a lot though about survival. She even learned how to heat up a MRE. I will probably go back to work sometime next week I am thinking, so I am trying to get as much done as I can before then. Our yard is such a mess, but the guy that cuts our grass told me he would come by tomorrow and help me out with it. That way, I can finish the inside and help my in laws until I have to go back to work.

Hope everyone is having a great week. It might sound like I'm having a bad week but I'm so happy to be out of that hotel that i've been in a great mood. Hi jrsyboy i see you have joined our thread. Heidi how was your boyfriend's mom? Did you meet her? I love the tinkerbell glittery thing I will have to save it later. Selena, i have my fingers crossed that you will get your surprise. Good to hear from Marcie. Your post actually sounded more upbeat than it has in awhile so I knew you were feeling a little better. It is horrible about your in laws! I wish them speedy recovery. I can not believe that in 40 days I will be on my vacation. The last month has passed so fast with the hurricane and I am sure the next couple of weeks will too, while trying to get our lives back to normal. I will be so glad when we have lights and cable interenet. I did find out yesterday that Target is open. I read that 2 people with cruises on Nov 5th got there cruise docs. I will be on the Wonder on Nov 23rd so I am guessing in a couple of weeks we will be getting ours. Anyway, I've had this vacation scheduled for a year and have done so much research but I was wondering for all of you who have gone before if you could give me one tip of something to bring/do while I am there. Now that I have so much on my mind getting our lives back together I'm scared I'm going to forget something. I think I'm going buy a new suitcase and I don't even think I have a beach bag. I think I may need one. I did buy one of those disney direct coolers a while back that I'm thinking of bringing. Anyway, if anyone is bored and wants to post some tips I will be grateful. I just have taken the time to go back and look at Marcie's magnets. Way cool. I have not been on much at home lately only at work. Work computers filter out everything fun. So I just took a look back every pages and decided to look atound.

LuLu I want a pumkin Mickey. Can you post it in a reply so I can copy paste it. I have not been able to figure out how to make one on my own yet. I worked on it for a while the other night and never could get it to work.

Hi guys, see what Heidi started? Everyone wants glitter. It is so cold and miserable out. Denver is getting A LOT of moisture. One side of town is getting hit hard with snow and the other side (our side) is getting hit with rain/snow showers. The street gutters are practically over flowing with water.

Just wanted to pop in and say I'm thinking of all of you.

I really can't believe what I did today. My DD was talking about how boring it will be to drive all the way to Disney and my DH and I started talking. He's made a lot of money in overtime, so next thing I know I'm looking up flight information on the internet and I found a really good deal. We figured out how much it was going to cost in gas and a hotel stay on the way there and back for travel and the airline was only going to cost about $400 more. The only thing is they are for the day before we planned to arrive. So, now I have a whole day with nothing planned at Disney World. I am not sure if I want to pay for tickets for another day. Maybe we will just do the boardwalk & DTD and swim, maybe book another ADR.

Hi Marcie, the Boardwalk is good and don't forget Downtown Disney. You could even catch a movie down there. Flying is the ONLY way to go!! You guys deserve it! For a fun lunch don't forget about the Wilderness Lodge restaurant. I have never laughed so much! Swimming is always fun.
