I thought Zicam was taken off the market? I've been usuing Mucinex. It's working, but I stopped because I thought I was getting better, then yesterday I got worse. So, I took it last night and now my eyes are so dry. I'm not majorly sick now or anything it just won't go away.

Maybe a certain type of Zicam was taken off the market but the one I use is still available. I use the nasal swabs.

update on my crazy personal life. I know I mentioned meeting someone who really liked Disney. Well, his name is Tony, and come to find out we get along great. I use Mucinex because of you!!!!! I remember you saying how well it worked for you one time and now I get it. That is some expensive stuff.

Selena - I just saw a commercial for Zicam nose swabs and was wondering if it really worked. Might have to try that next time.

We use those along with Airborne when we travel to try to protect us from getting sick. Learned about them here on the DIS. Haven't tried any of the other Zicam products, but I can say that they are still on the market around here.

Municex makes me out of it, very drugged feeling and I can not sleep for days. Now my hubby and Mac love the stuff. Zicam is the only thing that got me going on the last Disney cruise we went on. I was so sick and someone at baseball practice mentioned Zinc scabs. I bought them and they really helped. Now Emergen-C helps with the vitamins and minerals and extra energy while you are sick.

I hate being sick! Seems I am always sick with something. Just since September I have had 2 colds and 2 stomach viruses.

Marcie, if you are not better you really need to go to a doctor.

Monday at Sea. We actually woke sort of late. We went up for breakfast. I got an omelet at the omelet station. We met to eat outside. It was rather windy and a tiny bit chilly so Jeff and I visited on the adult deck and then went off to explore the ship. We were able to make the ship familar and in doing this I was able to feel comfortable with the ship. We walked around and took pictures.

We also had lunch in the diningroom. I had a wonderful steak salad with an asian influence. Jeff had a seafood type sandwich. I was rather surprised with Jeff's choice. It was not his normal choice and to be honest I did not find his lunch that great. He loved mine. I forget what we had for dessert but it was good. I remember thinking how nice it was. lol

We really just hung out on the ship and in our room and on the balcony. We meet a few for before dinner drinks at the Atrium Bar. Very nice.

I really wish I could remember more.

I do remember they had the stuffed mushrooms and I had some type of bread pudding for dessert that was out of this world.

Our TA was upsetting us by this point. Long story.

Over all we had a great day.

I forgot to add that we had a wine tasting in oneof the staterooms. We had a great time. Everyone brought a bottle. Lord knows we had enough wine. After the wine tasting we had to go get ready for dinner. Monday was the first formal night. I had wanted to have my hair done but it was going to cost $80 so I forgot it. I figured I could spend $80 on other things. I wore my new black formal dress. Alot of us started meeting at the Atrium bar since it was just a hop and skip from the Captain's Club for dinner.

Dinner for me was lobster and shrimp with stuffed mushrooms. Dinner was some type of bread pudding that was heavenly. Jeff and I for so reason had issues with seating together. We only sat together one night and it was not our first formal. lol

After dinner we headed up to change and met for drinks at the Aft adult pool bar.

Jrsy, we always use airborne but they now say it is a scam. have you heard anything about it lately? I just saw a commercial where the "inventor" talked and said she sold the company but didn't like the direction the new people were taking it so she bought it back again in Oct 2008. I really like the stuff and will continue to use it. Doesn't hurt....right?!

Woke up around 7:30. We headed up for breakfast and I decided it was not worth waiting in line for the omelet. Jeff did wait for eggs over easy and I just got scrambled eggs, country style potatoes and some salsa to go on the top of all of that. Figured it was about the same as my western omelet. I also got addicted to the cheese danishes. The coffee really was nasty on the cruise. I started making tea every morning. We ate at the adult pool area.

After eating we headed down to put on bathing suits. We really had a great time since it had warmed up. We were out there from 8-3. We were able to see Cabo as we rounded the corner. We saw dolphins and over all had an awesome time. Everyone meet at the adult lido pool area. We all just sat around and had a great time. Some got in the pool. I never got into the pool but I did put my feet in. The boys had a really good time playing beached whale at the pool. I do have some pictures. We had several people decide they wanted to be a part of our group.

After that we headed down for showers and a nap. We were ready earlier and we decided to take a longer nap. lol

We meet at 6 for a group picture. The group picture as not good. They were not very good about a place or making sure the area was clear. It took a long time to get us together and then I did not even get to stand near my husband which was not that great. After the picture 30 of us went for dinner at their surcharge supper club, David's. David's was an amazing place. It was a bit hard to figure out who was eating when. We had 3 reservations of 10 starting at 6, 6:30 and 7. Since no one had signed up for a speicific time to eat it was a mess to figure it all out. It took forever to get the frist 10 to go. We were short 2 people and Jeff and I had no problem in going then but had promised 2 other people they could sit with us and I could not go due to that. Finally one of my best friends in the world agreed to go with her roomie.

Dinner was very nice but they were not prepared for a group of 10 much less 3 groups of 10. We were there so long that we heard the live singer go thru her set and start all over. Service was as good as it could be but very lacking in time framing the food. The food was good but not that great. I had trio of escargot, lobster bisque soup and surf and turf. For dessert I had the chocolate something. I was so stuffed!!!

After dinner we once again changed our clothes and headed up to the aft deck to meet everyone. I was so full I could not drink anything.

Tuesday was a great day.

I heard the same thing about airbornne but I think if it works for you it is not a scam. Who cares what they are saying. Plus if you really read what the scam is it is saying that airborne will keep you from gettig a cold not that it helps to prevent a cold. Most people know that a cold is a virus not a bacterial infection and over all they have to run their own course. Arbourne will only help prevent. If you think of it that way it is not a scam.

One of my favorite parts of cruising is just hanging out at the pool the entire day!!! Chris and I would be at the pool from 9-5 on our Honeymoon!!!

Selena, I am so jealous that you saw dolphins. I have always wanted to see them. I saw one real quick on a DCL trip. It was diving right in front of the ship.

I have only seen them a few times on a cruise. I think the best was on the river going out of Jacksonville. You have to go down the river to get to the ocean. You are going by homes and we had dolphins follow us out to sea. That was amazing.

November 5~Puerto Vallarta

We woke a bit later. We watched the ship pull in to PV. Very nice seeing all the hotels and the landscape. Once we were into port we headed for breakfast at the buffet. I decided to wait of the eggs at the egg station. Jeff had told me to have them over medium so they would not be raw but I found them cooked too much and decided to try over easy the next morning. We found it was nice to set outside to have breakfast and watch the landscape. The area to eat outside was the adult area which was nice because Carnival did a good job and keeping the kids away. Which makes me want to go ahead and say, I did not see many children on this cruise. We did see a few but we really kept to the adult area most of the time.

After breakfast we headed back to the room to apply sunscreen and go to Krystal’s Resort. We had an 11:30 (PV time 10:30) couples massage scheduled. We had no problem finding the resort. It was a bit hot and humid and the walk was longer than expected but very doable in 5 minutes. I am thinking by the time we waited for a taxi and drove it would have taken more than 5 minutes. Susan walked down with us and we left her with Kim and Tammy who were already there. Jeff and I found Leonardo and he took us to his spa. He is very nice and very proud of his spa. He was also excited to let us know that soon they would be opening the new building which is being constructed and it would house the new spa. He made sure we knew the prices would still be the same. We had a wonderful 75 minute couple’s spa in a villa for $75. Of course we left a hefty tip to the ladies. I want to say this massage was one of the best I have ever had. The price was so cheap for 2 people. The massage was very relaxing. After the massage we headed back to the pool area. We did not have a lot of time to waste because we had a tequila and city tour to start at 1:00 PV time. I dipped in the pool for a quick cool off. The pool was very pretty. Over all I wished we would have just spent our time there and enjoyed the atmosphere.
We headed back to the ship to change and reply sunscreen and to meet the group. As we approached we saw several tents and one had my name on it. It was for our tour. We hopped back on the ship and changed quickly and meet everyone at the Atrium Bar. We had friends do the sea lion swim and they were coming back as we were coming back from the massage. Kevin and Chris loved the sea lion swim and if I ever go back I may check into doing that.
We met our driver for the tour. I will not name the tour company because it is a hugely popular private company and I do not wish to put them down. However, we were not impressed with this tour. As I mentioned earlier it was a City and Tequila Tour. We had 13 people sign up and we had a private tour. The cost was $40 pp. We did see a lot of the area. We started towards the mountains and we asked to stop for some drinks. He stopped at a place that had an amazing view and an amazing price tag!!!! The margaritas were $13 pp!!!! All we had were margaritas and nachos and the price for 13 people was $176 US dollars!!!!! Needless to say we were not happy with this choice because we have asked for a local place. We ventured on and did the tequila tour, were not impressed. The tequila was nice and smooth but was not impressed. We also saw the rainforest. There were HUGE spiders all around us. We stopped again and a few of us had a beer. I did not because I was too cheap to pay $5 for a beer when I had spent $13 for a margarita. I do not spend $13 on martinis when they are top shelf! Lol
After that we asked to just go back to the ship, although we still had about an hour left of the tour. I think most of us thought we could not afford anymore of this tour. Lol

We came back and took showers, meet everyone at the aft and then hung out for a while. As usual we wound up at the Atrium bar. As I mentioned the Atrium bar was so close to our dining room that it was nice to meet up there.

It is awful but I honestly have no clue what I ate this night for dinner.
After dinner we hung out at the aft bar until bed time.

Great day but was not impressed with Puerto Vallarta. I am very glad we did this port as a cruise because I would have been hugely disappointed if we had done this as an AI vacation. Since the flight is so long PV will probably never be in my future as a land trip and if we go back on a cruise I would do the sea lion excursion and then head for a massage at Krystal’s and then spend the rest of the time at their pool.

TA story

I really have no clue where to start.

As far as TA he was good. He worked very hard for us and constantly was able to get us price drops which worked to many’s advantage. He was able to upgrade a few right before sailing from an inside to an outside with a partial view for $30 less than the inside. We had 18 cabins booked which got us $100 OBC and a group cocktail party. He also sent anyone that booked within the group champagne and strawberries, which was a nice gift. He also gave us a pre sail away party on the QM the night before sail away.

The first impression of actually meeting him was not good. He just hit me wrong. What had happened was, Jeff and I checked into the QM by 10:00 am on Friday, which was well before anyone else. We were very impressed with our Deluxe Room. The room was very large. Once we were done we headed out to catch the free shuttle bus to the shopping area across the water, Shoreline Village. At lunch Chris called me to let me know they were at the QM. One of the first things out of her mouth was she did not like her room, which really surprised me because I thought our room was amazing. It took Jeff and I a few hours to make it back to the ship, once there we text Chris to let her know we were there and she asked to come by our room. Of course, I told her to come on. As soon as she walked in our room she was not happy. Our room was much bigger than her room and her room had some broken things. She instantly went to the front desk to request a new room. This is when we met our TA. He came to our room and started fussing at me about Chris and told me why did you show her your room. Well, tell me, would you have told a friend they could not see your room????? This upset me but I kept it to myself. Chris and Kevin were given a few keys to check out rooms. They found one and changed. No biggie. Chris never asked for help from Reggie. Reggie (TA) just kept on for the rest of the day about how he does not get anything for booking the rooms on the QM. Once again I kept this to myself but it upset me a lot. I am the group leader of a group of 34 people and most of them booked with Reggie. I was not happy that he felt the need to discuss his negative feelings to me. I just did not feel it was appropriate to put down my friends, this was unprofessional of him. I also found it funny that while he was so upset with Chris and Kevin that he gave them free tickets to the Russian Submarine. I asked him where he got the free tickets and he said he was given a packet of free tickets for tours for getting the group booking for the QM, but if you remember he said he did not get anything for doing this. LIE!!! This was not a good way to start off with me. I still kept it to myself and did not discuss it with Jeff.

We had a couple who did not book with the group because they were getting the cruise for free with points. For over a year he was treating them as the red headed step children. Finally Maureen told me and I said something to him. I basically emailed him and told him as far as I was concerned they were a part of my group and while they could not get the benefits given to the group, they would be treated as a part of the group. Needless to say while around me he was careful to treat them with respect. However, on the day of embarkment, Maureen tells me about Reggie making a smart comment to them. He told them he did not have to help them since they did not book with him. This really upset me. Needless to say they were not happy. I told her if she needed anything to ask me and I would help her in any way. Once again I told her she was a part of the group no matter what was said by him.

During the entire cruise he brought up to Maureen and Bill that they could not do this or that since it was a group thing. He had no tack in how he dealt with people one on one. Maureen and Bill realized they could not go to the cocktail party because it was a Carnival Group thing. He had no reason to ever mention anything to them. He really had no reason to ever say anything mean or negative to them. Maureen and Bill are a part of another cruising group and go 2-3 times a year with that group, one would have thought that he would have treated them with the utmost respect in chances of snagging that group’s business.

Another annoying thing that he did was hit on Susan. Susan cruised alone and he seemed to think she was fair game. She was annoyed with this as well. It really was a pain for all of us to see this happening. Susan is outspoken enough to handle it but he never seemed to get what she was saying.

One more thing that really upset was how he handled the supper club reservations. We had 3 groups of 10 starting at 6:00, 6:30 and 6:45. He kept on asking me who was going when. This upset me because I had tried to prearrange this before going on the cruise and he had told me he would do it the night of the reservation. Ok, one strike. Second strike for the supper club was when I went upstairs to the supper club because I could not find Jeff. Susan and I headed up there thinking he was there. He was not so I decided to stay put and enjoy the bar. Jeff comes up very upset with me because Reggie had told him we were supposed to be eating at that time. Jeff had thought I had left him and changed the fact we were eating with Chris and Kevin. Third strike, I did not find out about this until Wednesday morning. I have to say God was looking out for Reggie because if I had found this or heard him do this I would have lost it with him. After Bonnie was finished eating she went to Susan’s table where Reggie was sitting. Bonnie was beside but a little behind Reggie talking to everyone at the table. With the way this table was placed this was the best place for anyone to stand. Reggie got up and very rudely told her that he has a problem with someone standing behind him. Why in the world would he say this? The entire group of people at Bonnie’s table had come by and she was the last and he said it very nasty to her. I know this does not sound like that was horrible but Bonnie is one of the sweetest people I know. She is one of my best friends. She also was going thru a horrible time with her mother. Just weeks before this cruise her mother had a very major stroke. Bonnie was not even sure if she would be on this cruise. Bonnie was so upset and emotional during this cruise that everyone was very careful to make sure she was always OK. Bonnie’s mother passed away this past Saturday. As I said it is a good thing I did not hear him say this because I am very protective over her and would have more than likely been thrown off the ship.

We all started finding it a joke to see who could get to the dining room first to secure a full table so they would not have to seat at Reggie’s table. Needless to say I got stuck with him a lot because I felt it my duty as group leader to be the duck, as in sitting duck.
He was also good when he was around me because I think he was afraid not to be. I think he realized he had annoyed me on the first day and was pretty good after that around me.
