Did you do some kind of online course? They don't offer it in schools anymore and from what I read you don't even take a physical driving test anymore. Just go throught the course and of course the written test for a permit. I haven't ordered it yet, I need to get on that.

We will just be the shortys together.

It is very different in NC. Students at 15 take a Driver's Ed Written part that is offered in schools. Then at 15 1/2 they are given the in car part of Driver's Ed. They have to complete 20 hours of driving in incar. If they pass both parts then they go to DMV to take a eye test, road sign test and a computer based test. If they pass this they get their Permit. They can keep this for 4 years or in 6 months when they turn 16 they can go for their before 9's DL. Then they take a written and a driving test. If they pass they are given a before 9 (PM) DL. If they go 6 months with out a ticket they can go for their after 9's. At 18 without any tickets or major issues they can go and get an unlimited DL.

I can not believe in 12 days I will be in LA and getting ready for a cruise that has been almost 2 years in the planning.

I did it!!! I can see the words on the monitor without glasses! I did NOT like the pushing my eyeball into my head part though. The laser was nothing. 24 seconds in my right eye and 22 in my left. They had to put a bandage contact on my right eye, it's all bloodshot bad, but they said hopefully they can take it off today when I go. I go in about 30 minutes. I slept so good yesterday. Gotta love the goggles because they are shaded. My room was dark.

I went to the doctor and first they checked my vision. My left eye is 20/20 and my right eye is 20/30 but that was with the contact. My eye was scratched during surgery so it may take a little longer to get to 20/20. She said both eyes should be a little better on the next appt Friday. Then the doctor looked at my scratch. He said the contact could come out so he put numbing drops in my eyes and took a pair of tweezers and removed it. Then he put dye in my eye and looked at the scratch and said it was healing nicely. After I left I had to go to Walmart to get the tears, they had given me a sample. So I got a few other things and then I was looking for cakes for Aerial and I started feeling really bad. So I left and went home and took a nap. Then I got up and we went to lunch at jack in the box and I took another nap. So much for worrying about insomnia.

Yeah Marci!!! I didn't like the eyeball pushing part either. Now, I can ask this, did you smell any burning? I caught a wiff of smoke when they did mine. That was a little freaky. The surgeon told me he had never had anyone else say they had smelled anything. I have a pretty sensitive nose.

I did smell it right after the laser went off in my right eye. I didn't smell anything after my left, but I think I was just excited it was over.
