Yes. She already has 3 separate inquiries by DYFS but without marks or a caseworker witnessing abuse it hasn't resulted in much except regular visits.
Last night was Aerial's last softball game so Dane went and the whole team went out to eat. Well when we got home he told me that he realized at the game that she really needs to finish at her school next year. She's gone to private school since she was 4 with these same kids. So, he told me he would set up a direct deposit into her account so I can get the money to pay her last year of school. He said he knows her daddy won't ever help her and he's had her since she was 4 so he wants to help her. BUT, he still doesn't want to give me anything except my bedroom set and washer & dryer. I don't want to get a divorce, I hate this.
That is very generous with respect to Aerial, but I think you need to go see a lawyer as soon as possible before anything goes any further. If you have been together for, what, 8 years or so, I don't see how he decides what you get and what you don't. You've been working and, I would assume, contributing to what you have purchased during that time. If you don't go see a lawyer, I am going to fly down there and drive you to one myself!
You're absolutely right, it does suck but that is no reason to let him walk all over you. I'm not saying you have to fight to make him suffer; you have to fight because if you don't, when you are feeling stronger, you will regret that you didn't. Don't agree to anything until you have seen a lawyer. An experienced lawyer will be able to answer any questions you have about how you are going to afford his fees and an apartment and anything else. Don't give up just because you are unsure; find someone who knows how all of this works and listen to them. It sounds like your boss has your best interest at heart, so if you trust him, then let him help you.

Marcie - seriously call me...I would call you, but I am not sure when a good time for you is to call. Let me know a time that I can call you and I will call you tonight if you want. Do you pay towards the mortgage on "his" house? Do you pay towards the other cars? Sounds like he is going to get dirty because he thinks he can get away with it, you have to get an attorney to help fight for you since you don't have the strength right now and it sounds like Dane is using this hoping you will give up.
