Okay Jrsy - I think people responding on that thread you started will confirm Selena's fears!!! How bad is this place? Sounds like you make a wrong turn and your car maybe stripped or jacked.

Selena, your countdowns are so colorful they make me smile. Jrsy I read teh replies, wow I would be a little nervous and very cautious.

I am looking at it as an ounce of prevention. Only thing that worried me is the fact of our tailgate party. There will be some serious drinking involved. It looks like one of us will need to be good and sober to stay alert on our drive home. We are going to stay in a hotel but not in Camden.

Jrsy where would be a good place to stay. We friend lives near Saratoga.

I haven't been back to NJ in too long to be able to help you with that. I'd suggest asking on that same thread.

Hi, guys!

Selena,

I would suggest going at least an hour north of Camden for a hotel- that's usually much nicer.

Long Beach Island, Avalon, Avon By The Sea, Manasquan, etc. are all pretty nice towns, mostly near the shore. To me, the nicest parts of NJ are the central NJ coastal beach towns (NOT Wildwood, though!) and far up north in Sussex county where it's more "country" (lots of camp grounds/forests).

If you give me some more info, like preferences, prices, etc. I can do some research for you as at least 5 of my teacher friends go "down the shore" to bartend/waitress, etc. for the summer and know the hotels really well.

Well, I just made a "Chocolate Delight Pie" (fat free cool whip, melted chocolate, skim milk, light cream cheese) to take to work tomorrow. Robbie is studying for a certification tonight and is a busy bee.

I'm cleaning out my classroom since most students are absent these last few days. I have graduation practice tomorrow. Graduation is Monday (my birthday) and I took off of Curves (my night job) so I could attend. Sunday my brothers and SIL's are coming over for dinner and cake. I'm going to wear my tiara and royally tick my SIL off, lol.

As much as I want school to end, I'm a little sad about missing my coworkers. The last few years, I didn't really care because I hadn't gotten to know my coworkers very well except for a few, who just didn't click with me at all. This year I met several new people (It's a huge school and people move classrooms often) and it changed my outlook on school/work. They really made me look forward to coming to work.

Well, I got accepted for both summer jobs. I accepted one, and I agreed to work at Curves still, so no long summer vacation for me, lol. I will be working till July 29 but July 30-Sept 4 is all mine! :) And August 16-29 is WDW! I'm so excited.

No cute, new luggage like you guys yet though! I love that Hawaiian stuff. I have a nice sage green suitcase that's really durable and Robbie and I have matching silver Eddie Bauer duffels but other than that I'm not sure.

Well, I'm off to bed. I have to be up at 6.

Miss you guys!

Hi Lulu. I am not real sure what we are looking for in a hotel. I know she has purchased 12 tickets and to be honest I do not know who all is going besides Annmarie and Janet. I know the 3 of us will stay somewhere. I think it doesn not matter where as long as it is on the way home. I know we will travel the way home to her house which is about 15 minutes from Albany, NY.

Hi guys, yesterday was a busy one here on the board. I never did get on. Hope everyone is doing great.

Lulu, you have to share that choc pie recipe!

That sounds like my Chocolate Eclair recipe I got from weight watchers. That stuff is good. :thumbsup2

LuLu - Yum, that pie sounds delicious. So I guess you decided to go to the graduation, that is nice of you to do that on your birthday.

Is it Saratoga Springs, NY? North of Albany?

If it is, and correct me if I'm wrong Lulu or Robbie, I think you would be heading right to the NJ Turnpike and taking that north to the Garden State Parkway ("the turpike to the parkway" according to the locals). If that is the case, you won't be anywhere near the lovely beach locales that Lulu suggested but you should see plenty of signs for lodging along either freeway. It will just depend on how far you want to drive after the concert. I think you would be on the turnpike for about 60 miles or so before you hit the parkway and through a relatively rural part of NJ compared to where the parkway will be taking you. Either way you should be able to find lodging that won't necessarily require reservations, but off the southern part of the turnpike might tend to be quieter.

LBI is my favorite! Beach Haven, Sea Spray Motel. In HS it was always Seaside Heights. In College it was always Wildwood. Now it is LBI, though I still think Wildwood has great beaches because they are so big! And Sandy Hook was for day trips.

I think I am crazy, I just booked a Vegas trip to go a few weeks before I leave for our WDW and DCL trip. I could have really saved the $$$ to use for Disney, but I guess I am helping my best friend get through her divorce and her 30th birthday.

My friend lives in Schenectady, NY.

We probably will chose a choice hotel to stay at because we can stay free with points.

From your counter it looks like you are going to Las Vegas the day after I leave for WDW. You are a great friend Heidi. I know the pain your friend is in. Have a blast.

I am nervous and a little concerned. lol If Jeff were there with us I would not be concerned in the least bit.

Yeah I updated my signature. I need to add one more trip but I thought I would do it when I get back from Key Largo. We are going to New Orleans sometime this winter to visit a friend that lives there.

Marcie I mailed that book to you yesterday. :thumbsup2

Lulu that pie sounds heavenly.
