CR Construction Photos from 2-16-08 in post #15 & 16

Oh if their is a god in heaven please, please, please, make this a DVC resort!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:worship:

Thanks for all the great photos, Doc! You must have brought some of that warm Florida weather back here to IN with you! LOL! :rotfl:

Take care,
Michelle

Thank you for the photos. It really looks like they are making progress. I didn't realize how much you can see from the Contemporary. We stayed in the tower a few years ago, with a view of MK. Never even thought to look and see what the view was on the other side!

I was just watching some new pictures they have of the contemporary lobby at allearsnet and was thinking that the decor of that hotel is just my taste. My house is decorated in a contemporary-european style, and when I saw the pictures of the bedrooms (the regular ones), I said to myself, I can most certainly call this place home. I don't really care much about the turn-of-the century styles of most of Disney resorts, but if this is a reality, I think I'm going to convince DH (who LOVES the boardwalk) that we need to add-on big time.

So add me up to the CRV wish club  .

(Hey disney guys, are you reading this? Anounce the thing already before I spend the money in some other no-dvc thing)

:rotfl2: :thumbsup2 HOW TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) Disney may be thinking all this secrecy will make it even more desirable? For some, it may just do the opposite.

You can easily see the entrance area (large open area at ground level towards the MK and the bus stop area is also evident now.

this is worrying - thought that it would use CR bus stop and check in area - sounds like it will have it own.

that doesn't sound like DVC? although I know when Kidani opens at AKV it will have it own check in - but I though it was because it is so far from Jambo.

It almost sounds like a new hotel :scared1:

wanna it to be a DVC:tinker: :smickey: :tink:

How does someone make a reservation for the wine room? Iy looks like a very special; dining location. I didn't know it existed!

I don't think it can be reserved as such, but you can request it when you get to the restaurant (just like you can request a window table). We've enjoyed that area as a nice change of pace from the MK side of the restaurant.

Sat. nite, the Wine Room never filled up while we were there, but all of the other tables were filled. They may use that area as an overflow area, but we've really enjoyed it.

It would be a fairly long walk from that building to the CR bus stop (about 100 yards) without putting up a covered walkway and you sure don't want to have to go to the 4th floor, walk across to the CR and then down to the 1st floor just to get to the bus stop. It makes good sense to me to have a bus stop dedicated to that building and it's a natural stop for a bus already in the CR complex.

Time will tell! :)

These are great. We were there in October and I'm surprised they have made as much progress as they have.

Thanks for taking/posting these!!

This is great Doc. I will be there in April and at the rate they are going should top out close to then.

The big question is - WHO IS BUILDING THIS??:confused3

I NEVER SEE ANY CONSTRUCTION PEOPLE IN THE PICTURES. MUST BE DISNEY VANISHING CONSTRUCTION (DVC):rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Well, considering these particular photos were taken about 5:00pm on a Saturday nite, how many workers do you really expect to see?

The AKV photos were taken about 4pm on a Sunday.

I've taken photos during the week many times over the years and there is never any shortage of construction workers.

What's 'WoL' referenced in the second set of pictures in the Epcot photo? And ToL ?

WoL is the Wonders of Life pavillion at Epcot - closed now, but occasionally used for special programs (like Food & Wine inthe fall).

ToL is the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom. The construction cranes for Kidani Village can also be seen behind ToL in that photo.

Thanks! What did WoL have in it before? What do they use it for during F&W? I'm just trying to picture where it is in my head.

It's located between Energy and Mission Space. It has the Body Wars attraction, Cranium Command movie and "The Making of Me" movie. F&W used it this fall (for the first time) as headquarters for the event, there was a wine store in there, all of the wine seminars were there and DVC had a HUGE exhibit for AKV and had a continuous DVC movie much of the day.

In the photo it's the structure with the golden roof to the left of SE.

Thanks for sharing your pix, Doc!

I figured I might as well share the ones I took on January 25th. Older than yours Doc, but maybe a little different.

corcomp, you can see some actual workers in one of them. lol

The crane had just swung around towards me in this one, fun to watch:

16 floors - one more than CR - but the top 2 floors were surpose to be GV. Someone else say that is now changed to a restuarant.

Liznboys...you and I were apparently there at the same time. :lmao: I took pictures of a loaded crane too. And with Doc's pictures, it looks like there are MORE work crews, as they're now putting insulation on the outside, and working on secondary parts of the resort too.

For anyone who has tried to make ressies for the tower, it is very hard to do. The "CRV" will be very popular, IMHO. And they could have several view categories like AKV.
