We currently have ressies for CR Cl 14th floor. :woohoo: This was all that was available at the time I booked. Since I have been reading alot of posts re: the 2 CR club levels now offering the identical services, but at different rates, should I be checking availability for the 12th floor?
Also, I am considering ( not wanting to :sad2: ) downgrading to regular tower MK view ( just for the guaranteed view, since it is only a "request" on the CL floors) but, I have already utilized the CL IPO to book my ADR's. Does it mean I lose all my ADR's if I downgrade to a non-CL room?

If you are staying in a standard room on the 14th floor you have a good chance of getting a Magic Kingdom view. There are only 5 standard rooms on that floor and 4 of them are on the MK side. There are two king rooms that both face the Magic Kingdom. There are 3 rooms with queen beds and only one of those is a Bay Lake view.

One thing to consider is that even if you happen to get a room on the Bay Lake side, the concierge lounge has a beautiful view of the Magic Kingdom. The balcony even has tables for you to sit and enjoy the view.

The 12th and 14th Floors do both provide identical service now, but they provide different experiences. If you enjoy the feel of the open tower and want to be able to walk out of your room and hear the concourse, Chef Mickey's, and the monorail then the 12th floor is probably your best bet. Another consideration is that the 12th floor has a brand new lounge.

The 14th floor is kind of sealed off from the rest of the resort and has a very intimate feeling to it. It doesn't have the interior corridors / balconies that over look the concourse so it is very quiet. That can be a plus or a minus depending on your personal preference. I really enjoyed how quiet and relaxing it felt. There are only the 5 rooms and 11 suites, so it seemed the attention was very personalized. The desk staff greeted us by name every time we boarded or disembarked the elevator and remembered what park or restaurant we doing that day.

I'm sure you

Thanks for the great and thorough response:thumbsup2 All good points made.I absolutley love the idea of the exclusivity of the 14th floor, although I feel the silence and serenity might be broken by my 2 rugrats:scared: I have actually (obsessively ) requested the specific room numbers for the 2 queen rooms on the MK side in my ressie, I had gotten them from an earlier post of the floor plan, so maybe we'll get lucky:yay: I checked this eve with CRO and no Atrium club available right now for my dates. The difference in price was $50.00 per night, so a $350.00 savings for the trip.:teacher: I guess I'll check on and off for availabilty ( then reinvest the savings into WDW souvies!::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Contemporary_Man said it best when describing the differences between the 12th and 14th floors.

As someone who has stayed on both floors (once was upgraded to the 14th floor from the 12th floor at check-in back in May 2000) both floors are special in their own ways. If you do like the exclusivity of the 14th floor, then I would recommend keeping your reservation.

If my family and I were given the choice to stay on the 12th or 14th floor we would choose the 12th floor. The reason is we like the bigger lounge and if I am correct the rooms on the 14th floor rooms were renovated differently, when you compare them to all the other rooms in the Tower and South Garden Wing.

We love the 14th floor! The lounge is never busy and the CM's always seem to know your name. The balconies are huge and the view is unbelievable!

We have stayed 14th floor 2x and always had a water view. I was disappointed that we didn't have a MK view....for about 2 seconds! The balconies are HUGE and the view of the lake is great! We loved watching the parasailers early in the morning. You can always see the MK from the lounge balcony.
