We are calling tomorrow to get the CP dinner package, hopefully for Sunday, December 22 at Mexico.. I read another post and it seemed like many were eating about 5 or so, then going to the 8:15 show.

Will we need these 3 hours to eat and get in line? We wanted to go to the late show, but thought about eating at 6:15 or so.

If getting this dinner package, how far in advance do we need to get in line for our CP seats?

Thanks for any info! We can't wait to see WDW during the holidays!

KarenB, the Christmas holidays are a wonderful time to be at Disney World. In my humble opinion, it's the best time!

Not sure if this is everyone's experience, but when I booked our CP dinner package, I asked the CM for her help in choosing our dining time (we wanted to have dinner at the Restaurant Marrakesh before seeing the last performance of the Candlelight Processional). She just chuckled and said that I didn't have to worry about that decision, that as soon as she entered the time of the performance we wanted, the computer would give us our dining time. And it did - 5:30 p.m.

I have no idea what criteria the computer used to come up with that time. Maybe prior PS's played a part. But I'm comfortable with 2+ hours to eat and get to the outdoor theatre.

Will be interested to learn if the computer makes the decision for you, as well! Good Luck!!

I booked the package today for an 8:15 show and they wanted to book 6:30 dinner, but I had them up it to 5:00pm. The CM I spoke to said they figure an hour for dinner and 30 mins to walk back to the pavillion. I wouldn't book any later then 6:00 because you may not get seated right away, it may take longer to get your meal, eat etc. And you don't really want to feel like you need to run to get there. You should arrive no later then 15 mins before hand, because they will then open it up to non package guest and you could likely loose your seat.

Actually, your dining time is "tied" to your CP time. When I booked our CP package I was told they had certain blocks of time available for dinner at each restaurant and you picked from that block of time. We chose the 8:15 CP and 5:30 was the latest time we could choose for our dinner reservation at Le Cellier. I don't know if the dinner times for other restaurants is different or not. The cm told me to we should be at the CP 1/2 hour before it started.

When I booked the 8:15 show and dinner package at Chef de France, the CM told me the latest PS I should get is 5:50. I wanted it earlier at 5:00 just in case we had to wait for our table. We do not want to rush through our dinner and then run off to the theatre. We figure it's better to have an early, relaxing dinner and go shopping/browsing before the CP.

We're doing CP at 5:00, then dinner at 7:30. This works fine for us because we can see the show, and take our time getting to the restaurant. By the time we're finished eating, Illuminations will be getting ready to start!

Thanks for all your info! Just got off the phone with WDW dining and we are all set.....

CP Package at Mexico..Dinner 5:45 CP 8:15!!!!

Like many of you said, I gave the date and time of the show we wanted, then I was given the available dinner times.

Thanks again!
Karen
