I am so confused! Can someone help a Mom out please? 1). I understand those in the CP can get discounts on rooms, but how do we/they book them? If they don't start til January do I make a regular ressie now and then hope they can change it over to a CP discount rate when they get down there? Otherwise, if I wait til they get there in January for a Feb ressie, won't all the CP rates/rooms be taken?

2). I'm reading conflicting info on the tix they get...are they just for immediate family, does that include step-parents or step-siblings (who have a different last name)? Do we need ID (since some have different last names, not sure how that would work?)
What about aunts, uncles, etc?
And one last question about the tix...does the CP member have to be with the family all day in the park, just go thru the turnstiles with the family? How does this work?
What about park hopping? Does the CP member have to go with them to each park too?

Sorry so many questions- but I want to be sure about the ressie and the tix so we can plan, but they don't start their CP til January, and I want to plan now! :) I love to plan trips to Disney and having someone in the CP is a new and exciting reason to plan a trip...or 2! Thanks!

My son is doing Fall CP right now. The room discounts can be sold out. I am going down Dec 8, and when he got there, there were no CM reservations available for the week we're down. I went ahead and booked, then in late October Holiday CM rates were released. He was able to get us Caribbean Beach $ 50% off. The general CM discount is 40% off...50% if they are staying in the room with you. Ours would have been 60% if he were staying with us. I am not too sure what your situation will be since you are wanting to go in February. I am pretty sure they do not have access to the discount rooms for a few weeks. But not 100% on that.

As for park passes, they get 3 maingate passes that can be used 6 times. If they use 1 on one day, that counts as 3...so need to consider that. Cannot use more than 3 a day, and they are hoppers as soon as they are activated for the day. Anyone in immediate family can use the passes, and as long as family, the CM doesn't have to stay in park once you're in. Others...ie friends can use the passes as well, but in that case the CM does have to remain with them in the parks.

Hope this helped some.

Your daughter will be able to book a room as soon as she goes through Hub orientation. I was the last person in my apartment to go through this training. I booked a lot of rooms for a lot of people over the time I worked for Disney World. Also maingates can be used for anyone. If friends come visit or family it doesn't matter. I knew people who sold them who were from other countries and family weren't going to visit.

If there is a good sale on a room now I would book it as you don't know the traffic that is going to be there the week that you are going. However you might get a better deal if you wait, especially if it is a slow week. There are black out dates in February around valentines day were Maingates can not be used. If you want to get into a park on a blackout date you have to buy a ticket, if your daughter is going with you then she can get in until the park is filled.
