Ok, just found out that Jim Caviezel will be performing the first full night I'm at WDW, then Eartha Kitt the following 3 days. I was thinking of doing a CP Package for Jim that night, then do another one to see Eartha Kitt a few days later.

How are they at performing at the CP? Are they good speakers live & in person?

When I went in 2002, I saw Edward James Olmos and in 2003 it was Andy Garcia. Both were great and really got into it.

I can tell you what I heard about Jim and I'm sure someone will post soon on seeing him firsthand but...

I heard a few reports on Jim. That the lines to see him were VERY long and some didn't get in to see him. That his narration was very moving and I think he was even brought to tears at one point.

I'm SO SO bummed I'm going the week before and will miss him yet again. :sad2:

We saw Jim Caviezel last year and thought he was okay. At one point we thought he was, um, over-acting just a bit.

some Candlelight Processional photos

We also saw Marlee Matlin last year and enjoyed watching her. She seemed genuinely happy to be there.

We have also seen Andy Garcia and Wayne Brady, but our favorite narrator so far was James Avery. He was great!

If you get a chance to see Jim Caviezel go, he was very moving, I really enjoyed his narration. We will be there the 4th to the 9th and I would love to see him again.

Where did you find this information. I am looking to see when Marlee Matlin will be there if she will this year.

I totally agree with you. I have seen the CP about a dozen times and always love it, but James Avery was just amazing. I would love to see him do it again.

IMHO, nobody can beat Gary Sinise! We were fortunate to see him his first year there and he was wonderful and his comments following the program were so sincere! Hopefully we will have a chance to see him again this year!

We thought Jim Caviezel was a very moving speaker - he became quite emotional himself a few times and I see how someone would perceive him as overacting a bit, we just thought he was taking himself and his narration very seriously - he seems to be quite an intense man, but we certainly enjoyed him ! CP brought a wonderful 'balance' to our WDW Christmas fun !

We went on the first Monday night of Dec and it was very crowded - get in line early any night he is appearing!

I saw him last year and thought he was pretty good. I do agree that he overacted a bit. One thing that irritated me was that he kept mentioning Passion of the Christ and Mel Gibson. One time he said in the middle of one of the passages, "as you saw in Passion of the Christ....". I thought it was inappropriate to plug his move in the middle of a bible passage, my jaw just dropped.

Great pictures by the way!

Just curious; do the separate tiers provide seating in different sections, or it is all located in one section like Fantasmic?

Nope, the tiers are only for the different restaurants and prices. We all get in the package line and are seated first come first served. There will be two lines; one for standby and one for package.

We enjoyed Jim Caviezel quite a bit. He obviously was very happy to be there and very invested in the material.

We saw Jim Caviezel last year and I enjoyed it - we didn't do the dinner package or sit down in the actual area because DS was having some listening issues (3 years old at the time). I was disappointed because I really wanted to see all of his, not because of the Passion of the Christ, but because of Frequency.

And at the risk of sounding a wee bit superficial...he's pretty to look at too. ;)

This year, DS is going to be 4 and we're thinking of letting him spend some quality time over at the Sand Castle Club while we enjoy the show...

DH and I were there last year when Jim Caviezel was doing CP. We didn't have tickets but happened to be at Epcot that day. I have never seen a line that long in my life! I am sure it was the standby line but it was HUGE! I think that night there were 2 shows and there were already people in line HOURS before hand. If you are going to do it I highly suggest getting the package unless you like to ride the line-ride!

We saw Jim last December. For us, a bit too overdone.
He even moved himself to tears. Perhaps believing he was Jesus?

I saw some "behind the scenes" shows about the making of The Passion. Jim C. obviously feels a deep love for & connection with Jesus Christ. I mean it seemed so to me from what I saw and heard him say. I look forward to seeing him this year and I wonder what my impression will be. Some of you certainly have my curiosity up!

Have seen the CP several times...only once did we do the package. It's like Fantasmic, you don't have to use it, they just set aside seats for those with the package and sit them "first", to a certain extent you still have to line up early to get the better seats. And, they don't guarantee you a seat either. Last year we did the package because we were there 12/26 and DD was in the CM choir...I wanted to be able to see her, so we paid, but we were still in line almost one hour before the show - we were in the second or third row, but it was a long, cold wait, let me tell you. It was worth it though for that...as well as Sinise - he was good.

Other years, we just did stand by....got in, but of course not first few rows....more to the back, but the theatre is small, so most seats are good. I am sure there are some busy nightx, but I would think (IMO) that early Dec you could get in without the package.
We have seen Edward James Olmos (twice...he was a last minute replacement for Roy DIsney on opening night in 2002) and others I can't remember and all have been excellent.

What is the theater like? Someone in another thread mentioned 'inside' seats, I think. Are some of the seats outside? What happens if it rains? I am having difficulty imagining this.
