Covid testing sites near or in Disney

That's what I've been seeing in my facebook group, 3-5 days. We go mid April so hoping that they change it by then but want to be prepared. I know our Premier has stated that they want to bring the rapid test pilot from Alberta to Ontario asap but who knows now. I also told my husband maybe we should just drive back, lol. What baffles me though is the test may come back negative 72 hrs before boarding the plane however you aren't required to quarantine those 3 days so what's to say you won't get it in those 3 days. I personally think they should do a rapid test prior to boarding the plane, instead of arriving at the airport 3-4 hrs before your flight arrive 5 and take the test. We also have to still quarantine for 14 days when returning if with the negative test.
Yes, I totally agree! We were just there in November. It was fabulous. We came home and quarantined for 14 days and then went on with life. This new requirement makes zero sense. I'm hoping by our trip at the end of this month, they change their minds and allow a rapid test.

So question... I just got my Day 4 test done today. Assuming I'm negative, once I get that do I just keep responding C to the texts for the rest of the days and keep screen shots of my negative results on my in case they're waiting at the door when I come home?

My post was about MA back in October, it sounds like you're in NY?
I had to travel for work in early December and MA didn't even send daily texts anymore. I filled out the form and checked off that I had taken a test and was waiting on results and got zero follow up.

Yeah, I'm in NY. Gotcha. I'll look closer at my text today, but I think the wording is such that you can still answer C if you test out.

trying to read all the posts in thread. But a little confused..can kids get tested too. I thought I saw adults only..are there just 2 testing sights around Disney World. There are 8 of us total.
thank you...
Yes, when we were there this past November, we saw babies and toddlers being tested (it’s all self-swabbed so guardians were swabbing their kids).

According to a friend there now, they are ONLY offering the rapid test. She did say she didn't ask about the PCR, but she said it seemed that they are only offering rapid.

My son went last Wednesday and got the PCR test, not sure if they'll only do it if you have symptoms

Got it.

I thought I had heard/read that you had to specifically ask for it - and I'm not sure she did - because they default to rapid. I figure in Feb I'll just roll with it since I'll be doing rapid when I get back and stay put for 3 days anyway.

Fellow Canadian heading in March. The new requirement makes no sense and a rapid test at the airport would make much more sense. I travel a lot so I'm good at finding answers out pretty fast. I found two places you can pay to get the test done and you get the results in 48 hours. The price at one is $199.

Hey! I have been searching as well. We head down at the end of January. Which places did you find? I was hoping to get one of the free tests, but worried they may take too long. Although the Convention Center drive through testing says PCR test results in 2-3 days, so that would work. Waiting to see what a gong show this will be in the media over the next few weeks as Canadians abroad are denied entry back home over late PCR results.

We went in November and you do have to ask for the PCR test. We had both rapid and PCR.

Fellow Canadian heading down in a few days. I found a couple of private testing sites but there were a handful of negative reviews in terms of getting test results back quickly. I am leaning towards going to get the test at Maingate so I can have both the rapid and PCR test even though the wait will be long. As @Minnie84 said, if the PCR results aren’t back yet, my rapid test results could be proof that I took the test within the timeframe.

Please let us know how it goes. I am very curious how strict this is even going to be enforced by gate agents that aren't even Canadian, since they are the ones we will show the test results to before boarding. It makes zero sense. We flew back to Canada from Orlando the first day it was mandatory to have the ArriveCan app downloaded and filled out. The westjet agents in Orlando had no idea what the government requirement was. Afterall, they are not Canadians themselves. I am all for making sure we travel safely, but since we will be coming back to a required 14 day quarantine, I think the "threat" of denying us the right to come home is absurd. We obviously are not contributing to any spread of the virus locked up at home for 14 days.....so let us get back home! Sorry for my little rant there. Hope you have a great trip. Keep us posted on your testing experience!.

Does anyone know if this site has changed to residents only? I used it in September, but am heading down next week ans need a test again before we hear home!

I actually just received an email back today from CDR Health, who runs the Maingate testing facility. They are open to anyone. We are Canadian, so I reached out to find more info. Testing is free and the rapid tests are available within an hour and PCR within 48 hours..... or so my email says. I am hoping all of that info is true, or we may be in Orlando a lot longer than we planned. We aren't allowed to fly home now without a neg pcr test 72 hours before our flight. I was able to make an account and was sent a barcode that we present at testing to link up our info. I hope that helps.

It went very smoothly this morning (sun Jan 10).
We left Poly at 7:05, arrived at the site about 7:25. We were done the test by 8:30 and now driving home to PA. All four of us (including two kids) got our negative results in about a half hour (rapid test only).

We have to be tested before flying back to NY. We need to be tested either Thursday or Friday (we fly back Saturday 3/6). We can go anytime of either day. What day and time have people found to be the quickest option.

Also, has anyone had issues with Uber/Lyft availability to/from the site, or do you recommend a car rental for the day.

Thank you!
