Covid Cancellation Question

So, after waiting on hold for 3 and a half hours this morning, I was able to cancel our April 11th cruise for Covid related reasons
🙁

The CM on the phone confirmed cancellation, but I didn't get an e-mail, and the cruise still shows up under my reservations. Is this normal?! Anyone have a similar experience? Maybe it takes a little while for the cancellation to go through?! I am dreading the idea of another 3.5 hour hold....

Thanks!

Wait a week and see if your refund goes through by that time. If not, call back.

Yeah, good idea. Hopefully it's just a system glitch and the cancellation went through.
The system has glitched since the revamp. I cruised a few weeks ago and never initially got an email confirmation of my placeholder, even though I waited 2 weeks to receive confirmation. It was there, though, had been charged to my cc, and when I called DCL, they were able to give me the confirmation number and manually send an email.

I had to cancel a cruise due to Covid this winter and was fully refunded within days. You'll probably get your refund promptly. If it doesn't turn up, be sure to call DCL before the cruise is set to disembark. But no need to call again today.

Good to know, thank you!

I had to cancel our cruise on short notice (sniff), and my travel agent said that refunds are taking longer now. We're now over two weeks since we cancelled, and still no sign of our refund. I'm remaining patient, though it would have been nice to have it hit by now.

I canceled the end of February for my daughter. My refunds were broken down into 2 different credit cards. My disney visa was back in 3 days. My MasterCard took 2 weeks. Even though the cancellation occurred on one day, credit companies each process differently. The funds were broken down each how they were paid (placeholder, deposit, deposit, payment) mostly because that cruise had been moved 3 or more times and each time I always a small amount deposit to add.

I didn't get my cancellation notification until the wee hours of the morning following the day I called. They are really inundated. I cancelled on March 26th and have still not received my refund. They told me 7-10 working days, but it never took that long before. Patience is the key.
