Cove Cafe Food Pics

Hello jegsnakkernorsk,
The type of camera that I use is a point and shoot 1 step down from being a full DSLR, however, I bought it almost three years ago. It is a Canon PowerShot SX200IS with 12x optical zoom and 12.1 mega pixels and it cost a little over $800.00 when I bought it from Best Buy. It is a great camera that has lasted me all this time and I can't imagine replacing it for at least another 2 years.
I'll see if I can find a way to post a picture of it on here so that you can see what it looks like and how surprisingly small it really is. : )

For those of you about to cruise the Dream or Fantasy, they also have treats at the Vista Cafe on deck four (with specialty coffees that you buy) and that is a FAMILY area. :thumbsup2

.

Hello lilpooh108,
Thank you for the lovely compliment. I can't say for certain whether or not I'll do a trip report. It might be something my mother and I do together during summer vacation. I certainly have enough photos to do it! : )

Hello jegsnakkernorsk,
Here is a picture I took of my camera with my mom's iTouch.

Didn't know about Cove Cafe on our first cruise but did on the PC cruise. Only stopped by once during the entire cruise and I was very disappointed in the selection. There were no strawberries or brownies. Just a small selection of other sweets. I got a couple of treats, took once bite out of each and tossed the rest in the trash. They were tasteless and to me not worth the calories. Perhaps I just stopped by on a off day. I'll have to give them a try again on our next cruise :)

1st 3 cruises on the Wonder & Magic....we had no idea about these treats. Since we aren't coffee drinkers, it never occurred to us to venture into this location. Right before our Dream cruise last May, I heard about the chocolate covered strawberries on this board. Our family LOVED getting these fabulous treats almost everyday at either location mentioned earlier. We would take a plate up to our room and had the snack while getting ready for dinner. We will most definitely enjoy them again in May on the Fantasy. There is so much food on these ships that its impossible to ever be actually hungry once you board. It's just really nice to find special treats like these as an alternative to other options. Yum

On the Dream, the case in the Cove Cafe is not self-serve. You have to wait for the barista to help you.

When we went on our cruise in October on the Dream, I had told my wife about the chocolate covered strawberries. We didn't see them at all. Wonder if they are only on certain days, or if they are on longer cruises only?

On the 3nt cruise is there a particular day for the strawberries? In all the times I have sailed I only go there in the morning.

I can't answer about the 3 night DREAM, but they were available everyday on our 5 night. Seems like they showed up late morning and were there all afternoon until they ran out. They only make a certain # per day/we asked while chatting with the CM. One day we went to the location by the atrium and had some after dinner. It probably just depends on supply/demand each day. I would just ask someone behind the counter what time they arrive each day so you can be on the lookout. We were serviced by CM's at both locations on the DREAM.

Thanks for posting this CoolCanadian and Vimwac. This will be our first disney cruise coming up and are sooooo glad we found out about this. I know where DH will be at 11pm. The food looks delicious!

i went by the cove cafe a couple times my last cruise and some of the treats they has were exactly the same as the desserts we had at palo brunch....maybe they get overflow items frm other places too???

Note--the food in the Cove Cafe and Vista Cafe changes throughout the day. Early on, it is breakfast pastries. About 10:30 or 11, it changes to dessert items. SOme cruises have strawberries every day, some never. And they go pretty fast. There are always some sorts of dessert items though. In the early evening, it changes to more of an antipasta type selection with olives, cheeses. etc.

Yes, there are plates, silverware, and napkins. Cove Cafe is an adult only area, Vista Cafe is for families. And yes, the munchies are all included in the price of the cruise.

All I can say is glad I spend so much time on here to find "the tricks of the trade" per say!

Wow! There's some good looking food there, very tempting and will definitely be on my list for our next cruise, thanks for sharing.
What kind of speciallity coffees do they have, and what sort of prices do they run?

Do you have to buy coffee to get the food? I would love to go on a chocolate covered strawberries run and bring them back to the room.:cool1:

Wow, I stopped there on the MC, but thought there would be a charge for the food. Thanks for this thread. DH & I will enjoy these treats on the TA!
