HI, I got one this week. I don't know if it was the 7/14 or 21. It had spiderman stamps on it. Mailed one to of2dbeach last week and this monday. It has a long way to travel to you. I have been looking at the receipt and if I mail it on Monday and states it will arrive on Thurs and if it goes on Tues its usually Fri or Sat. And then I find it actually doesn't arrive until one day past that. I hope you get this last one soon...it was a good one.

School for us starts on the 25th for DS, the 18th (for teacher prep) for DH. I remember going back after Labor Day when I was in school, but I think this is the latest DS has gone back.

On a related note, just curious, how many of you buy school supplies vs. buying the Back to School packs. I know the packs are our PTA's big fundraiser, but it seems ridiculous to me. The price this year for 6th grade was $120! I thought it might be the calculator, but it was on sale at Target today for $9!!! (I had been putting off buying it until they needed it, but I am going to pick one up today!)

Last year I saved $60 doing it on my own; this year, after the calculator, I will have spent less than $30 on school supplies, although to be fair, he could reuse a lot from last year.

The savings will be put towards clothes - he has grown 4 inches this summer and is wearing a Men's size 10 shoe!

When I taught elementary, they tried doing the packs but it wasn't very successful, so it only lasted a year or two before it went the way of the dinosaurs. I don't think we did it as a fundraiser but merely as a convenience for parents who didn't want to go shopping. I always thought shopping for school supplies for my boys was really fun until they got to HS and the big buck items were requested. Expensive! I was really glad we only had two to buy for. Can't imagine how big families do it each year.

Here teachers go back on the 11th and kids go back on the 18th (but I was forced to switch grades so I'm going back tomorrow to start setting up...not looking forward to it).

When I first started teaching, we started at the end of July/very beginning of August and were out by Memorial Day.

I have been receiving my coupons on a timely weekly basis. For this week envelope I will do my best to get it out. Don't know how many you have seen the national news about Toledo, Ohio but we got back from vacation and now have to deal with this mess. Waiting for a news conference that will hopefully lift the ban yet tonight. We were fortunate that we were only 1 hour away from Toledo camping in our seasonal site. We were lucky we got a text alert and was able to get to a grocery store by the campground and picked up water for both ourselves and my parents. We met my wife friend from Lima ohio today and they had 5 gallon water for us and 2 24 packs of bottle water to take back to Toledo and we found more at the grocery store down here. So we are fortunate not having to wait for our water. Please keep our city in your prayers.

Just read your post and within seconds heard the news report on GMA this morning. It sounds terrible and will hopefully be resolved very soon. (Wish I knew how to forward your message to the other train which you're part of so your friends over there are made aware of this but I have no idea how to do that for you. Hang in there, Brumeiser! We all wish you well.)
