Coupon Train ~~ Hop over to our new Thread. Link on last page.

You know this really steams me because I purposely paid extra so that it wouldn't go through the machine and it was even stamped "non machinable"...argh! Well next time I will send it in a manilla envelope! Lol

It does say "non-machineable" on the envelope, maybe it should say "please machine me!" then they wouldn't:rotfl:

Got envie from sumlthomp - thank you!!

Will send off tomorrow to cameron :thumbsup2

DinkDisneyAddict - I am receiving my envies perfectly every week thank you. You arfe going to be suprised when you read my savings this week!

SFWife - I sent your envie out on Monday? or Tuesday this week. I hope it made it there.

Now on for the savings
would you believe.... 73.05 and that is not including all the store savings, that is just coupons. How much did I spent? 134.29 (that's 54% savings)

Now I have some questions. Does anyone use a binder like they are in Extreme Couponing? I think it is a great idea to be able to see what all you have coupons for and buy when it is on sale. I know I have forgotten I have coupons before and they end up expiring on me. My question is does it take a boat load more time to organize your coupons? And do I really want to care a 10 pound binder to the store with me every time I go? Right now I keep my coupons in a card box and keep it in my car. Is it worth the extra effort? Please tell me your thoughts.

On a happier note, my finals are next week and I will have more time on my hands (I hope) to save more and be a better poster in this group:cheer2:

Some of you might remember when I posted that DH used to look like a deer caught in the headlights  when I asked him to go shopping with some coupons. After a few trips on his own, I want to give him credit where credit is due and report that he is becoming a great coupon shopper (as long as I prepare the lists and indicate which items use coupons. :rotfl:) Here's how he/we did today:

Target
10 Smart Ones @$1.89 each
1 baby shampoo for DGS4 and DGS1
4 Coke Zeroes
minus $2 coupons on Coke products (forgot to include a coupon for the baby shampoo~:headache:)
Total out of pocket $18.90 for everything and received $5 gift card free on future purchase at Target

Rainbow Foods (It's a double double day = up to 10 coupons doubled up to $1 value each with a $25 purchase)
Coupons $22.00
Total OOP $14.65
Total Savings using store card and coupons $29.57 :woohoo:

He's just left to go fill up his gas tank (Rainbow issues fuel perks rewards and we're up to .42 off every gallon :goodvibes on this next fill. :yay:) and go to Cub Foods (no double coupons but they do accept expired coupons up to 3 months which is great :yay:) and one more trip to Rainbow. He's also going to get a haircut and he asked if I had a coupon for it. :teeth: :thumbsup2

still extremely sick, haven't been on board much :headache:

Feel better soon, Tiggerstac. :flower3:

Stopped at Kroger on my way home from work today to get my 10 for $10 deals.

Walked out with 8 boxes of pasta and 2 bags of chips for free! :woohoo: My DH thinks I'm insane, but pasta doesn't go bad...:rolleyes1 and I will send a few boxes to the church food bank.

Today's coupons savings $7.00 (total savings with store card $21.77!) :thumbsup2

There's a rumor that our Rainbow stores have been purchased by Kroger. That would be great for us. Time will tell if it's true or just a rumor. :confused3

Good luck with those finals! :teacher: As for using a binder, I've never tried it but I've read many postings by people that really like using them. It sounds too time consuming to get everything filed in little compartments and heavy for me. Anyone use them and like that method?

Congrats on the coupon savings! Very impressive!!

Good luck on your finals. I finished mine earlier this week. So no class for me until July :cool1:

As for the binder, I have considered using one but haven't made the move yet. In our community (of largely college students) I'm already considered to be odd for using coupons, so this would make me odder (is that a word?) I currently use a small accordion file folder that is divided into sections. Prior to going grocery shopping I browse the ads and make a mental note of what I want and pull out coupons for the products that I have, I also clip the ad coupons and match those to any that I have for additional savings. All of these coupons are then placed into the 2nd pocket of my folder so that I remember to use them, and as I pick up the item the coupon moves into the first pocket. Another thing keeping me from using the binder is trying to pull them from the pockets. I might consider keeping a binder at home so that I can see everything that I have, and fill my accordion folder from it as needed.

Thank you NMoore14. Got the envie yesterday. I love this!! It's like getting a present full of surprises every week!!

I use the binder method. I have to say that getting it organized the way you want it is time consuming but now it is easy. The Krazy Coupon Lady has a great way to organize coupons on her site and so does the Super Coupon lady and that might help in determining which way to organize your coupons. Before using a binder I used an accordion file folder but it was just too hard to keep track of my coupons in that. With my binder I just flip to the section and then I can see the coupons I have without having to sort through them all.

It is all about what works for you in the end.

Danacath-

I went through the paper early today and dropped off your envie at the post office since I am headed out of town tomorrow. I only had 1 insert in the paper so in case I get an additional one tomorrow I will include it in next week's envelope.
