Couples poll: What size bed do you sleep in?

We sleep in a Queen. Last week on vacation, we had a room with a King bed. My first thought was - 'what a treat'! Well by the end of vacation I couldn't wait to get home to our queen bed. The king was just too big - I felt too far away from my husband all night and didn't like it, neither did he! So queen it stays for us :thumbsup2

Yup, that's why we have a Queen bed. :)

Queen, because a king simply won't fit in the room. We always get a king when travelling.

King, hate sleeping in a Queen on vacation, but we make due.

King.
On vacation we request a king room but would be fine in a queen. All the beds on DCL are queen and we slept great.
We were staying at DBil's over 4th of July weekend in a full! Same when we go to DH's parents.
A king is only 16" wider than a queen and both are the same length.

DH and I share a full-sized bed. It's plenty of room for us--DH is 6' tall.

Queen.
On vacation we always have a king because we stay in a DVC villa and that's what's there, not that I request it.
I like it..and I don't like it, I fall asleep every night with my leg thrown over my husband's legs and in the king I have to scooch and scooch and scooch until I even reach him. LOL
But it is lovely and roomy.

My parents had just a full size bed(and not due to the size of their room, plenty of room for a king bed) their entire 40 year marriage.. and my dad is 6'4".

We did that for the first 9 months of marriage, then straight to the king.

After 15+ years of DH working 3rds, this being on the same sleep schedule is killing us. He got use to spralling across the bed during the day and I did the same at night. Now you have the both of us trying to sprall and there just isn't enough room. Add in the 30 lb, 4 ft long spralling dog that some how was allowed to sleep with him to the mix, usually taking up some of my side of the bed and I'm not getting my required 8 hours of peacefull sleep.

I keep telling him if we ever rent a beach house, it will have to have 1 bedroom with a pair of queens, so DD and I can share that room. He can have the king master all to himself.

California King.

We started off with a Queen and when it was time to upgrade that bed/get a new mattress we decided to go California King. Love it. We need our space for sleeping (and at that time had a lab that would invite himself into bed and a cat that slept with us).

Just for reference

A full is 54x75
A queen is 60x80
A king is 76x80
A California king is 72x84

King, but it never seems big enough. :)
