Finding nemo is closed until 9/26. Any chance they will do soft openings? Our last day is the 9/23 and I was hoping to ride this. Or am I? Is it a claustrophobic ride? Am I stuck in a small submarine underwater?

What kind of ride is Luigi's tires? Like bumper cars?

I just thought about it now, I could probably youtube these. Off to try.

Thanks everyone!

It's POSSSSSSSSSIBLE that they might open early but I would definitely not plan on them opening 3 days sooner.

Are you very claustrophobic? You are underwater (but only a few feet), but they do close the hatch of the submarine and you are sitting in the dark very close to (touching) your neighbor for the duration of the 20 minute ride. Not intended to scare you, but if you're claustrophobic I'd rather you know the situation now as opposed to when they shut you in! They do have an alternative ride experience where you don't go into the subs, you basically just watch the film on a screen, but since the ride will likely still be closed anyway that's likely a moot point.

As far as Luigi's, yes, it's kind of like bumper cars, only you "drive" by just shifting your weight from right to left and you realllllllly don't move very fast at all, at least not in my opinion. Worth it if there's no line just to try it but I wouldn't wait in a long line for it.

Thanks Sonnyjane- the nemo ride does not sound like much fun at all- 20 minutes long! I think when you said closing the lid i sealed the deal for me (pun intended) - :crazy2:

I really enjoy Nemo but if you are claustrophobic you probably won't enjoy it, it is pretty confined.

Luigi's isn't very fast but trying to control it combined with some pretty good collisions makes it really fun to me. Going solo you can get it moving pretty good, with a partner it's much more difficult but it's fun trying to work together. The line can be hit or miss but if the line is 15 minutes or less I'd give it a try, more than that and I'd skip it and check back later.

I'm moderately claustrophobic (I almost had a panic attack on Mission:Space at Epcot), but I love the subs. The first time I rode (which was last year), the enclosed smallness of the space and, yes, the hatch closing freaked me out. But you spend the whole ride leaning forward and looking directly out a porthole, so you get really caught up in the view/story. There is also an air valve that blows a light stream of air at your face (a little like on an airplane) just above every porthole. Those two things together (how engrossing the view/story is, plus the stream of air) made me forget my nervousness so much on my first ride that I ran around and immediately rode a second time. YMMV, but if you're not severely claustrophobic, you might like the subs. I do!

It's not really the small spaces for me, moreso that the entire sub smells like sweaty feet.
If you're going with kids, I'd say might as well try it once if it's open. If it's mostly adults, it's not worth the wait in my opinion.

If claustrophobia is an issue ask for the alternate experience. You are in a room where they show a video ride through on a TV screen. I did the subs version once but didn't enjoy it. Did the alternate experience and liked it so much more.
