couple of picture for you old time fort people

Doggmeat-

Thank you. You rock! I have never seen the artwork that you posted in your first scan.

A couple of points of interest about the map:

-notice that there is no swimming pool at the Fort! Today, we are griping about the Meadow Pool being closed, but there used to me no pool! All swimming was done in the lake.

-notice that the 500 loop is called Terry Trail. It is now known to us as Buffalo Bend. But, back then, there were Terry travel trailers set up on this loop. It was not a camping loop.

-notice that none of the current cabin loops are shown-they did not exist yet. The 2100 loop was a regular camping loop, with a comfort station (notice that comfort stations are shown on both 1100 and 2100). The old comfort station is still in the middle of the 2100 loop, but is used by the maintenance staff now.

Doggmeat- do you have anything more? Bring in on!

TCD

I stayed in one of those Terry travel trailers in 1978. It was pretty fun.

Finally had a chance to look through all these - so great!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to scan/post.:thumbsup2

LOVE these treasures you found and posted. Thanks for taking the time to scan and share them. DH and I both enjoyed looking at each one. :goodvibes

Doggmeat, is there anyway you can do a higher resolution scan of the campfire singalong picture? The suspense is KILLING me! TIA

Wow look how short all the trees are, definitely a more open feel.

Does the golf course resort and villas still exist or was it torn down? I don't recall ever seeing that place.

I'm pretty sure this is where the newly renovated tree house villa's are located. They originally were also a part of the Golf Course Villas. (or something similiary named?) More recently kown as the Disney Institute before that closed. I believe the Saratoga Springs resort was built along this area..that also has the body of water that leads to the Downtown Disney/Marketplace area.

The former Disney Inn is currently Shades of Green. As I remember it was across the road from the Polynesian.

The thread was for old time fort people, not OLD TIMERS, lol.:lmao:

The Disney Institute became Saratoga Springs. The D.I. was too expensive & not enough guests were interested in spending their vacation time learning gouirmet cooking, crafts, flower arranging, and other things.

I am an "older timer" and "old geezer" AND an "old fort"!!:rotfl2:

my scanner's not the greatest but here you go shan:

I remember when the Candlelight Processional was held at the main train station at the MK. Unless you were a VIP, you had to sit on the concrete to watch and stake out your space 2-3 hours ahead of time!!! The herald trumpeters and orchestra were up on the platform that overlooks the circle.

I was glad when they moved it to Epcot & you could sit on a bench. That concrete gets hard on the butt & back - and I was young then!!

I still have my tencentennial button somewhere...(I hope my son hasn't found it like the rest of my collections!)

I saw a few posts about the old Treehouses and Villas and thought this would bring back some memories!! It's an article from 1976 , when they first started leasing them.
