Some people should not be allowed to have children!

"Police said a local couple left a three-year-old child alone in a stroller in the 90-degree heat while they went on a ride at the Magic Kingdom, WESH 2 News reported.

According to the charging papers, the couple left their three-year-old alone in a stroller while they went on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

At 4:45 p.m. Saturday, investigators said a concerned guest approached two employees working the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and told them a child had been left unattended outside the ride entrance. The employees said they found the child alone in a stroller sweating profusely. Then they called the paramedics.

"If a little more time had transpired there were concerns this could have gone south very quickly," Sheriff's spokesman Jim Solomons said.

Investigators said the child was showing early signs of heat exhaustion. She'd been left alone for as long as an hour, officials said. The parents, Juan and Danette Rodriguez, said they were with a family group and accidentally left the girl behind.

"Most certainly it could have been an accident, if you put a child in harm's way you're going to be held accountable for it," Solomons said.

Both were charged with felony child abuse and posted $2,500 bond.

The Department of Children and Families said the child has been placed in the care of relatives.

A Disney spokeswoman said she's glad that the employees at the ride acted appropriately and quickly and she also mentioned Disney's rider switch program that allows one parent to stay in an area with the child while the other rides."

That's absolutely awful - I'm glad they were charged with child abuse.

There is no excuse is there :sad2:.

When you have small kids you just have to ride seperately or not at all :confused3

Poor child

wow! I can't believe anyone would be that irrsponsible, with child swap etc theres no excuse, no excuse at all. :sad2:

God on a family ride aswell they easily could have taken the child on with them

some people really shouldnt be allowed to have kids!

my god!

I wouldnt leave my child unattended ANYWHERE - let alone somewhere like WDW.

I hope for the sake of the child she is removed from their home as its obviously not safe to have parents like that ..... and one can only imagine at the other things they have done if they consider leaving their 3 years old ALONE, in public, for an hour or more.

How on earth do they have the cheek to say 'they accidentally left her behind'? No excuse whatsoever, we all constantly check where our kids are all the time (even when they are big). I cannot believe it.

I read this on the CB last night. I couldnt believe it. Some parents amaze me how stupid and irresponsible they can be. Whatever made them think they can have kids, if they act like that.

Absoloutly stupid. I still dont understand how they didnt realise the child was not in the buggy. Surely the extra weight was an indication that someone was in there. Sounds like utter rubbish and they had been caught. Thank god.

Didnt Maddeline story make people realise that leaving kids alone is not a great idea :confused3 Personally that is something I have never done and would never ever think about doing. Its just irresponsible.

That's horrible that they got sued for helping the child.. :sad2: How irresponsible of them leaving the child there!
