I have stayed at both of them as well as the Radisson and the Marriott Residence Inn. The MRI is my favorite but we stayed at Homewood Suites last August for a pre-cruise night. It was a very nice hotel but we did have one huge issue. We were travelling with our large group of about 20 including 3 one year olds. My niece had reserved a crib in advance (she was smart!) and my DD and my DIL each requested one at check in. We were told they would be right up. Hours later and a few phone calls later and still no cribs (they kept saying they would be right up). It is now after 9:00 pm and we had to put those babies to bed! I go down to the front desk to see what is going on. They couldn't tell me so I asked to speak to the manager who was a real tool. After I explained that we had been waiting for hours he smugly told me they had the required amount of cribs for that property and when I asked him how many was that he said one (we were out of luck at check in and didn't know it). I laughed out loud. I asked how a hotel in a tourist area and of that size could only be required to have one crib. He didn't care that we had been told all along that they would be right up. Didn't offer any type of compensation or even a sorry that happened. I asked what I was supposed to do and he said he didn't know. I knew there was a
Walmart somewhere in the area so now I had to go to Walmart at 9:30 pm and buy 2 pack n plays for the babies to sleep in. I then had to return them in the am (I told Walmart the story) before we headed to the port. Walmart is a good 15 minutes away. Before I returned them I asked the hotel manager if the hotel wanted to keep the pack n plays and pay me the $100 bucks for both to save me the trouble of returning them since the hotel obviously needed more cribs. He declined again stating they had the required amount of cribs. It was surreal.
So, if you don't need a crib the hotel is great. If you do need a crib hope you get the one and only one!
