Just wondering if anyone has strategies to share on how to spread out the value of counter service meals on the dining plan. I will be at WDW with my family: DH, DD 10, DS 7 and DS 4. Is there a difference between adult size and kid size portions in a counter service meal? Since my DD is 10, she is considered an eating "adult." I am wondering if we could use
a couple of counter service meals for breakfast and a couple for lunch each day--as my kids are not big eaters--and get more longevity out of the plan.
I have heard from friends that they feed a family of 5 at Pizza Planet with two adult counter service meals. Is this doable anywhere else?

Thoughts?

I think it probably is doable, or close anyway. I think that you might be stretching it trying to feed 5 from 2 meals, but it wouldn't be that hard to feed 5 from 3 meals.

My family of 3 did manage to split an adult breakfast every day on the dining plan, but that was when breakfast included a "dessert", which I believe they may have discontinued. Hubby and I would go to the POR food court while teenage daughter slept in. We would split an omelet meal (omelet, potatoes, biscuit), and take an apple juice and a side of bacon (which we were allowed to order as the dessert) back to DD.

We also split a chicken fingers meal 3 ways one day when we weren't too hungry, but as a rule that wouldn't have been enough for us, even though DD doesn't eat that much.

We easily fed my family of 4 (Me, wife, DD 11, and DS 5) on 3 CS meals all the time.

We didn't do breakfast however at CS.

You just order what you want.

Pizza Planet was pretty good and if you order the combo meals (pizza, salad, and drink) plus dessert, it is a lot of food. However, I don't think 2 adult meals would feed 5. 3 easily could though.

We also split a combo platter at Columbia Harbour House (the chicken and fish combo). Daughter ate chicken, I did the fish.

Season's Grill at the Land in EPCOT could easily feed multiple people with one entree, dessert, and drink.

The place at Morocco had a good combo platter with a lot of food on it too.

I think you get better value at the parks with CS rather than at the resorts. I didn't notice an abundance of food at the resorts, whereas the meals at CS places in the parks were packed with food.

I know I will get flamed but here goes... We were there 2 weeks ago. We let me 8 y.o. prder from the adult menu at all counter service places. He just doesn't like the regular kids meal chpices. It would have been plenty to split with him and me or with my 2 boys and save meals but as it was we had 5 counter services left at the end of the vacation anyway. I did pay for 2 kids meals out of pocket in the beginning of the week thinking that we would need to use some later in the week but we just coundn't eat all the food on the plan!!! There really should be no problem splitting meals. We ate at Clombia Harbour house in MK and there was Plenty of food on one plate to split between 2 people. The same for the Seasons food court in the Land and tusker house animal kingdom. Enjoy the dining plan, and magicla express made for an incredible stress-free trip!
