Countdown to the Clown! A September PTR - Updated 9/13 - TR LINK

We have never stayed at BWV before but stayed at the Swan last year. I can' t imagine any other location!! A good friend of mine owns at BWV and has never had one bad thing to say about it!! Enjoy!!! Oh and BTW yes, my son is growing up too fast. Yesterday while eating dinner he looked at me and said "More juice please Lori". Um no kid, it's Mommy to you!!!

I love me a nice sit down meal at Disney. Cool and semi-relaxing with a little one, pretty food and someone else does the cooking. However, there is one thing I do really enjoy a bit more and that is SNACKS! They are smaller than a meal, so you can eat more - and the variety at Disney World is incredible. I read your TRs and PTRs and find new things to try all the time!

So, here is what is on Brook’s Agenda-O-Snacks currently...as you will soon see, I like pretzels!:

--Cream Cheese Pretzel – Lunching Pad, MK - ala LL fame. With the slushy Coke she mentions, this sounds absolutely divine!

--Germany Pretzel – Epcot – They are crazy good!

--Smothered in goodness Chocolate Pretzel Rods – Goofy’s, DTD – I read they now have coconut to put on these delights. Momma likes!

--Sweet Almond Pretzel – Epcot, Norway – Hello my friend. Despite not eating you over the past few trips, rest assure, I have NOT forgotten about you. How could I? You are so lovely. I think of you often. I hope to see you again very soon. Love, Brook.

--Spicy Jalapeño Pretzel – somewhere (WHERE?) in AK – SoonerGirl, Michelle, mentioned this beauty. Sounds ahhhhmazing!

--Dole Whip – Adventureland, MK – with vanilla ice cream please!

--Root Beer Float - I know they have them at a stand in Adventureland...Sleepy Hollow? - I love Root Beer Floats, they are completely refreshing on a hot day, muck like the Dole Whip!

--Chocolate Dipped Mickey Rice Krispy (or as Disney calls them, “Crisped Rice Treats”) – Found everywhere! – It’s a classic and it tastes a bit like heaven because it’s in a Mickey shape. Makes an excellent treat for a plane ride home. Instant smile to your face despite flying home.

--Itzakadoozie! – Everywhere! - My old “hot day” standby. Henry likes, I like. Close contender is Minnie’s Strawberry bar found at AK.

957581324_KAr46-M.jpg

--Main Street Bakery Ice Cream Sandwich – MK – 3 huge scoops of ice cream placed between two giant cookies of your choice. Delish.

957610981_qf29c-M.jpg

--Popcorn - Everywhere! Except Epcot during Illuminations it seems... - I have never had Disney World popcorn! I read so much about how good it is, plus the souvie bucket is a very nice bonus. I tried to search some out before Illuminations in December, but couldn't find any...hopefully this gaping hole my Disney experience will be mended.

--Coconut Mickey Head Patties – Goofy’s, DTD – Make sure to buy the box, they are THAT good (if you like coconut). Individually wrapped, makes a nice treat to share.

957614087_jbjg7-M.jpg

--Strawberry Shortcake – Sunshine Seasons, Epcot – So light, so strawberry-y. Me like.

644171908_acTnz-M.jpg

--Mickey Bar – Everywhere! – I cannot not get one of these! And Henry will be getting his own this year so he does not steal mine or Joe’s. ;)

957595990_qZpik-M.jpg

--Chocolate Croissant – Many places, MK Bakery is one – I can get chocolate croissants at the bakery next to my house, but it’s not a Disney one. You know what I mean.

--Kona Cafe Coffee - Poly - Last September we wrapped up our trip with breakfast at Captain Cook's and then a stop at the coffee bar on the 2nd floor of the Poly. It was a great way to end the trip! And that coffee was so, so good. We don't have any Poly plans this trip, but we will be riding the monorail and a quick dip inside for a treat surely won't take too long!

--Frozen Chai - Tea stand in AK - I believe it was JenJolt who introduced me to this on one of her TRs. I love chai, and frozen chai sounds just PERFECT for a steaming hot September AK day while I'm chasing Henry around.
:cloud9:

So there you have it. My snack list. I will be the first to say that getting all of these is highly unlikely, there are always new things to be found and tasted!

Up next: Counting down.

What dates are you thinking about for March???? We'll be there Feb 27- March 7. (Remember spring break season starts about March 12th)

We were looking at somewhere between March 10 - 20. We thought Spring Break wasn't then. I can't remember why we thought that....perhaps because of the DVC points still being lower? I figured they raised them for that week.

Well...we might have to re-think our choice. Though, I have read that Spring Break isn't too bad crowd wise....hmmm....

That is great to hear about BWV! I think we are going to love it! Let me know when you hear back from ROFR so I can (hopefully) rejoice with you!

Henry pulls the first name thing too! I cannot remember where we were, somewhere public, and I called out for Joe and he started calling with me, "Joe! Joe!" everyone around us laughed. He calls me Brook sometimes too! I always tickle him when he does that and say, "No! I'm MOMMY!" and he just says Brook over and over and over while I tickle him. It's funny! As we get closer to 3, Henry becomes more and more opinionated as well it seems...

Okay, I'll take one of each!

Are those Coconut Mickey Head Patties like a Mounds bar? Oh my gosh!

*drool*

I'm hungry. So hungry that I just got my snack out of my lunch bag. :rotfl2:

You have a thing for pretzels, eh? ;)

You must must must MUST try the cream cheese pretzel!! It is so very yummy.

Your snack list looks wonderful. I am tempted to print it out and place it in my Disney file for my next trip. The pictures all looks so delicious. I agree there is nothing like a Disney Snack.

Every trip I bring back Goofy's character gummies and the coconut patties so I have a little Disney treat to help me get over being at home and not at Disney.

Popcorn - Everywhere!

I cannot believe you have never had

Disney Popcorn is the best -- better than any home popcorn, movie theater popcorn, etc.

And I know what you mean about trying to search it out before Illuminations. We were watching Illimunations last year and I had to walk WAY over to the stand that was located by the two stores in the promenade when you enter World Showcase and decide to go left or right to start your tour of WS (I almost couldn't find my husband when I walked back because of the crowds).

And you know hubby loves his Mickey Bar's. And of course Henry should have his own (or two or three).

You do like pretzels, huh? I'd have to skip the coconut ones -- no coconut for anyone in our house.

Oh, your snack list makes me hungry! Those cream cheese pretzels are SO good!

I'll have to show David the pictures when he is up from his nap- we were talking about Mickey bars this morning and I tried to describe them to him. He was so excited- ice cream AND chocolate? Together?! :lmao:

I know what you mean about them getting more opinionated as they get older- boy, 3 is going to be interesting!!!

Here are my pictures from our view at the Boardwalk. It was a great spot! We looked to the left directly at the Swan. I also put in a couple of room shots, though I'm sure you have seen the rooms before! This was in 2004 too, so they may have updated decor now.

I am sooooo happy you were able to keep your DVC....I was afraid to ask after you had moved and all...I knew you had this new trip coming up but :confused3 Such happy news
On to the food :rotfl2:You have never had Disney popcorn? :scared1:
You MUST try the Yorkshire Pudding...both mine and LL's mothers make this with a roast and usually for special dinners. I love it! I went to R&C in May and had the steak and fish....soooooo good! I am not usually a fried fish person but this was delicious and I can't believe I have passed it up all of these years there!
So sweet watching Henry grow up through the years and I just adore your traditions...such a wonderful idea!

Tracy

I am so hungry right now.

I can't believe that you didn't mention the cinnamon rolls at Mainstreet Bakery. I just love them. Last time we made a breakfast out of our snacks credits there with no problem. No pic though.

My DS loves the Mickey ice cream sandwiches, instead of the Mickey bar you showed. He likes the face.

We have never tried the Itzakadoozie. What flavor is it actually?

Less than a month away for you guys. So cool.

MMmm, food! The cream cheese pretzels are so good. I tried one last August because LL mentioned them in her TR. Very yummy!

OMG, those ice cream sandwiches look really good too. Might have to get one of those when we go...

The jalapeno pretzels are not to be missed! That may be my favorite snack ever. They used to have them at MK and DHS, but the only place I was able to find them on my last trip was a little snack cart back by the safari ride at AK. Yum!

Brook!!!!!!!!

How did I not know you started a PTR?!!!!!! :confused3

So far behind, need to catch up, STAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Well when you have been to Disney for Christmas and New Years you probably wouldnt' think any crowd was too bad! :lmao: touringplans is predicting crowd levels of 8 to 10 from the 12th to the end of March. Feb 27 thru the 11th....level of 2 to 5 (mostly 3's).

Thank you Thank you Thank you! for posting that the ice cream sandwich is from the Main Street Bakery.....that was one of my things to research. I am SO having one next trip.

Love that you put up a table of contents, I didn't get to read everyones comments but I'm officially caught up! YAY!!:cool1:

So glad things are working so well for you guys in NYC, that you got to keep DVC (yay!!!!!!!!!!!) and I love, love, love the pics from your traditions, I've read all (or most) of your PTR/TRs and it was fun to relive them again here!

You're so close!!!! Wish we were going a few weeks sooner so we could meet you there!!!:goodvibes

Your snack list is making my stomach growl. They all look so yummy. My dh would love the almond pretzel, almonds are his favorite.

we stayed on the resort mostly and hit the beach at our resort! We did a St Lucia land/sea tour that took us on a jeep tour during the am....lunch at ladera...and then a catameran tour around the island in the afternoon. We went into town one day shopping and that was a waste. The items for sale are junk mostly and the cabbies try to get you to take their cab. One asked if we wanted him to take us to his boat...he points to a huge ship...we go''You mean the Royal Cariebbean that is docked there?" I DON;t THINK SO! LOL!

Do not take nice jewlrey with you into town. we were told to leave ours in the safe in the hotel! Any jewlrey they think you are a rich american and will try to rob you! Thats what we were told anyways. we did not wear any into town and did not have problems.

The jalepeno pretzels at AK are yummy!

Since Easter is not till late April next year, March might not be as crowded.

We are doing the 7-night Eastern Caribbean leaving on March 26th. I am so excited!
