Countdown to the Clown! A September PTR - Updated 9/13 - TR LINK

I loved your last trip report so when I saw this PTR and the BWV stay, I had to join in. I am currently waiting on ROFR for a BWV DVC membership and this PTR is getting me even more anxious to hear!!!

I love your reports because your son isn't much older than mine and I love hearing how other people with little ones navigate the World. :)

Oh and finally, so glad things have worked out for you and your family. Welcome to the East Coast :lovestruc

we ate lunch at Ladera! It is a very pretty resort!

You are so sweet to take requests. I would love to see more of the new restaurants in Italy and Mexico if you happen that way. If you're in the Beach Club, I hear they redid their lobby and would love to see pictures of that. But only if you are in these areas... no special trips, please!

Oh and if you want to pull a *nameofamuchbelovedDISer* and stand up on a bench and take photos over the Fantasyland construction wall that would be great... :rolleyes1 But please don't get arrested by the DIS police.

Otherwise, just want to see the usual awesome photos of you, Joe and Henry enjoying your vacation! :goodvibes

Oh and one suggestion for you...our last day of our trip in Oct we had breakfast at Kouzina (we were staying at the Swan and just wandered over). Holy smokes!!!! It was awesome. Everyone in our group agreed it was the best meal of our trip!! And our son was in love with his mickey waffles so there is definitely something for your son!!

It was you and Jen, making MULTIPLE R&C trips that convinced me! Now what again is Yorkshire Pudding? I remember you guys loving it, but can't remember exactly what it is! I was thrilled to read your Mama Melrose review too, knowing it was high on our list of places to try - your review made me suggest it again for this trip! :goodvibes

Hmmm...yorkshire pudding. How did I explain it last time..?? :rotfl2:

I found our picture.

Here is what wikipedia says about it. My brain isn't working well tonight.

Yorkshire pudding is cooked by pouring a thin batter made from flour, eggs, butter, milk and seasoning into a preheated greased baking tin containing very hot fat or oil and baking at very high heat until it has risen and browned. It is then served in slices or quarters, depending on the size of the tray in which it was cooked.

You are also supposed to use the meat drippings from your roast to make it. It's really good, worth a try. Truuuust me. ;)

No requests -- just looking forward to all your great stories and pictures on this trip! You always have so much fun!!!

Danica and Liam would love a postcard to get them excited for their trip this winter if it's not too much trouble. I'll PM you my address :goodvibes

Getting caught up! Love the traditions post! Can't wait to see Henry's face when he sees the Castle this year and which mini stuffed animal he picks out. Your ADR's look yummy! But when does Disney food not look yummy!

You must be so excited that you have only 1 month left! Where areyou flying out of? LaGuardia (did I spell that right??? u know what I mean) or JFK?

Brook I really don't have any requests except for lots of pictures of Boardwalk, but that goes without saying YOU always take great pictures at the resort!

YES!!! Do look over my ADR list!! A meal would be absolutely LOVELY- and we should try to add you to the ressie- I don't think it'd be too late.

I did the same "pay it forward" on my PTR, and got about 7 requests- from postcards to check on prices. So great to see DIS-ers looking out for one another! :thumbsup2

Yorkshire puddings are lovely! Worth a try at Rose and Crown because I guess there aren't many places you can find them in the US? Although I suspect NYC has it's fair share of cultures and might just be home to an English pub somewhere?

We like 'Toad in the Hole' - which sounds scary but is actually just sausages baked in the same yorkshire pudding mix

We ate at Cape May last trip for breakfast. We loved it. We don't do many TS breakfasts, but really enjoyed it. Dinner is now in my plans for a future trip.

Brook, you are so sweet to ask for requests! I would be glad to send Henry a postcard from his favorite character... you can let me know. :)

I just saw that you started this!!! :faint: Going back to read! :thumbsup2

Sorry I am late ;)

Tracy

I think the tea is much better done by yourself - and we'd probably like to keep that just for us too - maybe because it's such a quiet environment? Feels quite intimate sometimes and good for a chat if you can keep your toddler from roaming the lobby :rotfl:

But would still be more than happy to meet up with you before/after - is Henry allowed a splash in the pool if you're having a DisMeet with someone who's staying at that resort? ;)

:rotfl2: and hopefully that will be the result this time! No tears, and no escaping.

Henry is most definitely allowed a splash in the pool! I don't think I've ever seen the kiddy pool at the GF, that could be a lot of fun!! Great idea!! I put it in my trip notes and will confirm with you via PM with my phone number and all that.

Indeed I did! Speaking of...Sunday was a Murphy's Law day. We had a projector bulb blow, spotlight bulb blow, and a the mouse on the projection PC died. All before the morning service started. Luckily I had spares and plenty of volunteers to help and we got it all working just as they started the music. But SHEESH I was a nervous wreck.

Oh man! That is a LOT for one day!!! Very nice that you had spares on hand - and volunteers. Whenever that stuff would happen to Joe at our old church where he ran sound they would have to just roll with it - there were NEVER any spares!

Yes he was, I meant to comment on that during your TR, but forgot about it - I still need to catch up there as well...

I also love it for dinner! If Henry was a bit older you might have enjoyed Flying Fish during your BW stay. My all time favourite WDW restaurant! :thumbsup2

I would love to go in January, BUT I have quite a big personal milestone to celebrate next November (I was born in the same year that the MK was opened), I was thinking of doing that together with my contemporary, the MK, at WDW. :goodvibes

I remember it because I thought the expression Certified Nerd was so funny. :goodvibes Wasn't it just the day before you left for your trip or so? My father is an engineer and he always claims that the most important thing is continuing your education to stay up to date! So it looks like all the effort that Jooe had to put into his exam really paid off. How impressive that he was regarded such a valuable employee!! :thumbsup2

Flying Fish was on our list of possibilities for this trip since we are staying right there, but, like you said, we figured it might be better once Henry is older. And I have a feeling, if we enjoy the resort as much as we think we are going to, we'll be back at BWV often! I hear so many great things about FF and their steak!

That is VERY cool about going in November! :thumbsup2 An excellent idea! Our next trip will be in March (it's loosely on the books right now), and not sure what we are doing after that. I was wondering if our trips were going to cross again at some point - I still want to do the Ultimate Touring Plan someday! :goodvibes

It was very exciting to have companies competing for him. We didn't expect it to be that easy for a job, considering the economy is still down. But it all happened very quickly! His profession is something not a lot of people are in yet, it's still a fairly new field, so to find someone certified and with experience is pretty rare still.

Was this a Monty Python reference, or am I just hearing Monty Python references in my head?

:rotfl: I have NO idea! I've seen it, but not recently enough to know...

:lmao: I had the SAME thought and heard "Tracts of Land" in my mind.

All I remember is the "horse" with the coconut shells, the flying cats (:rotfl:) and the "Bring out your dead!" "I'm not dead yet!" "Close enough!" :rotfl2:

Wandered over your way from another PTR...though for the life of me I can't remember which one! I blame "4:00p.m. brain".

Sounds like a wonderful trip. Can't wait to hear more!

:flower3:

:welcome: I so understand the 4:00 pm brain! Mine is the morning brain though when Henry jumps on me. :teeth: Must have 2 cups of coffee before I can function fully! Thanks for joining up and reading! I opened your PTR and will catch up there ASAP too!

I'd love to see pictures of the room, view, and other aspects of the Boardwalk :) I know you'll probably be taking them anyway, but they'd sure be nice to see!

I fully plan to take all those, but copied down your request just to be sure. Never hurts to take "too many", right? :goodvibes

I loved your last trip report so when I saw this PTR and the BWV stay, I had to join in. I am currently waiting on ROFR for a BWV DVC membership and this PTR is getting me even more anxious to hear!!!

:welcome: Thanks for reading!
Oooh, I hope you get through ROFR! I have a feeling we are going to love the BWV - have you stayed there before?

I love to read reports with little ones too - they often give awesome ideas and tips! It's fun to watch them grow over the years too. :goodvibes At this stage in Henry's life I cannot believe the things he is saying! It's amazing what he has learned over the past 9 months and how he is becoming less of a toddler and more of a little boy.

Thank you for the welcome! We are LOVING it here!

we ate lunch at Ladera! It is a very pretty resort!

It looks amazing! I cannot believe the rooms and everything... So pretty!!! Any tips on St. Lucia? We will be attending the wedding and parties, obviously, but beyond that it will be a couple days of whatever we want...we will hit the beach, but not sure what else we will do yet! The bride mentioned various activities the resort has - like a zip line through the jungle! We'll see if I can muster up the courage to do that!

You are so sweet to take requests. I would love to see more of the new restaurants in Italy and Mexico if you happen that way. If you're in the Beach Club, I hear they redid their lobby and would love to see pictures of that. But only if you are in these areas... no special trips, please!

:rotfl2: Love it! I do plan to pull a *nameofamuchbelovedDISer* ::yes:: As long as that bench is there, it's like they are begging us to do it! I'll try to snag photos from Dumbo as well. Perhaps I'll even squeeze into Astro Orbiter and try to check it out! All for the DIS, all for the DIS. ;)

I am 99% certain we will be visiting Via Napoli. Joe will be drawn to it like a moth to a flame. He has a very sensitive pizza-dar. And if the Mexico restaurant is open, we both love Mexican food, so that will have to make the agenda. If it's not open, I'll take construction pics!! And we will be at the Beach Club for Cape May Cafe, and probably just to explore too! I didn't realize they had their lobby re-done, I look forward to seeing it.

So, most likely we will be in all those places - I'll be sure to get lots of pics!!

Oooh, very good to know! I'm going to mark that down in the Trip Notes in case we are wanting a nice sit down breakfast one morning that we don't have anything scheduled. :thumbsup2

Now where is that particular DISer?

Hmmm...yorkshire pudding. How did I explain it last time..?? :rotfl2:

I found our picture.

Okay that picture + the description, holy cow does it sound GOOD! Thank you for posting it!!! YUMMY!

No requests -- just looking forward to all your great stories and pictures on this trip! You always have so much fun!!!

Unless my dear, dear husband chooses not to listen to me and goes on the wrong side of the WS just in time for Illuminations to start. :rolleyes1 Otherwise, yes! We have a great time! ;)

Danica and Liam would love a postcard to get them excited for their trip this winter if it's not too much trouble. I'll PM you my address :goodvibes

I got your PM! I...er...I will ask Mickey...to send them one! ;)

I am really looking forward to the reaction picture. Whenever we watch Disney movies he sees the Castle and says "Mommy you want to go to Mickey's House very bad?" It's cute. He knows that Castle! It will be fun to let him pick a character too - and he definitely is old enough now to have an opinion about which one he wants!

I am VERY excited! I get these moments where I just want to rush through August and be on that plane!!! We are flying out of LaGuardia (you spelled it right!), it's VERY close to our house. The bus stop for the airport is just a few blocks away and then it's about 10 minutes on the bus.

Brook I really don't have any requests except for lots of pictures of Boardwalk, but that goes without saying YOU always take great pictures at the resort!

No problem!!! I hope to catch some of those "little details" that make it unique and special!

I looked it over this morning...but nothing lines up. :guilty: Our DHS day on the 7th does though! We can keep in touch via text or somethin' and see if we can meet up for a ride or two!

NYC does have a TON of ethnic food - and my neighborhood in Queens is very diverse. Which I love! I'm not sure where exactly an English Pub is...oh wait, I just thought of a place. I haven't eaten there since I lived here previously in 2005, Joe and I should go check that out!!

I stuck "Yorkshire Pudding" in my Trip Notes, it sounds amazing - the "Toad in the Hole" sunds even better!!!!!!!! Yum!!!

YOU are so sweet!!! I PM'ed you!!! Thank you!

I just saw that you started this!!! :faint: Going back to read! :thumbsup2
