No more parade after 4-6...Not coming back--Everyone has to rebid for jobs --others being relocated.. Major expansion to be finished by 2016...Star Wars !!! Something for the boys!!!

For the record female star wars fans will take offense to this and I am one of them. That is a perpetual stereotype that needs to be broken. Star Wars is not JUST for boys. Over 50% of science fiction fans are female. I for one would be all for a major over haul on the studios including much much more star wars. Please help the female fans out there kill this boys only stereotype.

Some of us remember that same angle but with the Chinese Theater facade showing. Very nice, too.

Rumor says that they may change that facade to the
"Carthay Theater" (as they have at DCA in Anaheim)
and THEN pull out the hat.

They haven't corrected the Parade schedule. April 6th is definitely the last day for CTF and DCR!

As for overlapping performers; the comment was about the "parade performers", and the "show performers" what you would think of as the dancers in DCR and the actual people dancing in the parade, not the characters.These are the same people, obviously some more people come to help out but if you watch both on the same day, you'll definitely see some familiar faces.

I'm not really sure how the overlapping goes in the other parks, but I know that the "Dream Along with Mickey" dancers, (castle show) are "equity" and that show is all they do in the day. Same thing goes for the bird dancers, and tumble monkeys over in FOTLK. Anyone singing into a microphone also fits that category.

These "parade/show performers" (the people dancing in them) can be trained on any variety of parade or show depending on their skill level.

Characters...well....there is only one of each! How could someone be in two places at once?!

I was around for the last few of those years, too, though I don't know if I saw that specific angle at night. I don't know, but I just really like the hat and the color scheme it brings to the Boulevard. Yeah, it looks as fake as they come but Disney is all fake and imagination and that's part of the fun.

Regarding the rumors, I wouldn't put too much faith into them (not saying you are just warning others; Robo, I know this isn't your first rodeo!). It would be very odd to basically duplicate a park's icon. Also, I've only heard mention of those rumors once and that source has since not followed up at all on them, but who knows what will happen.

Thank you! I am so tired of the gender stereotyping that rears its ugly head around here all the time. Some people think princesses are for girls and pirates are for boys. Period. Well, some of us are trying to raise our kids to like whatever they please...not what they are told they should like.

For anyone who hasn't seen it,there is now a Thread with inside info pointing to interference with the new RFID turnstiles as the reason for the cancellations.

From a purely technical standpoint, the FCC tightly regulates the frequencies offered to "wireless mics/wireless audio links/wireless device control" plus the walkie-talkie frequencies the Cast Members use. Disney has very precise control of those individual frequencies, none of which should intrude on the RFID sniffers at the gates.

What MIGHT happen is that the general "RF" (Radio Frequency) in the immediate area of the parade is so high that it could ("might") disturb/intrude into other frequencies of the EM Band
(just due to being so powerful in relation to
the very, very low RF level of the RFID chips.)
That latter situation would be unlikely, however.
Just saying that it COULD be a factor, even if it's a low possibility.

I also continue to hear it is because of construction and not RFID. The latest specifics are:

~ theater to become Carthay Circle
~ restaurant on the second floor of Carthay Circle

This sounds very true to me. I highly doubt that it's RFID-related. I can almost bet were on the verge of a DCA makeover coming soon. Removing the parades without any replacement for the time being seems like one of the first steps. I could very well see a brand new parade debut once the construction would be complete.
