Countdown timer onto desk top?

Does anyone know how I can get my countdown timer on my desk top? I'd love to be reminded how many days to go every time I boot up!

I got one called Mousetrack which lets you have a counter and slideshow on your desktop

I don't have a link but found it on a search for countdowns
