We all miss Ranger so much, esp. my 6 year old son. He went to pet about 6 dogs today at soccer opening day and told each owner his sad tale. He is such a cute little bugger he had several women all misty eyed.
Today we went to pet supplies plus and our humane society was having a pet adoption. Now I've bought dogs from breeders and private owners, but not shelter dogs. This time I really felt I wanted to give some dog a home that needed one.
We ended up buying a 4 month old black lab mix (who is the 4th black lab or lab mix in our block, LOL). It is a female and I am horrible at girl names. Everyone says "what's her name?" and I don't know yet! She has first shots, rabies shot, and is spayed.
She is a bundle of energy. We have to put the old cage up to cage her when we are not at home so she doesn't chew--we have 2 toys we bought her and we'll put a blanket in her cage. She isn't completely trained yet either, which will be fun--I will have to con my dad into coming over and letting her out during the day (DH leaves at 9 or 10; I get home at 3:15).
I probably should have waited, but I just couldn't take it. I hope she turns out to be as good a dog as Ranger was.
