We're not ignoring the request, we just feel that the games are an integral part of the Community Board and are still a good fit here.

There's a lot of traffic on the Community Board, and a wide variety of topics. The more of that variety that gets split off to other boards, the more divided the community board becomes. We'd really just be creating a new Community Board for people who like to play games, wouldn't we?

If you don't care for the games just don't open the threads. And if you're looking for the games, subscribe to those threads so you can find them quickly.

OK, I've read all nine pages. I have been around for over 5 years. I try not to post to a thread needlessly. I only post when I feel like I have something valuable to add to a thread.

Alex trained us old timers to quit burning up the bandwith with needless posts to boost our thread counts. The games (especially no-brainer games like The ABC's of _____) require little thought and seem to grow 10 times thru the alphabet before they die. Many of them seem to be caught in an endless loop.

My question then becomes one of do people not realize that these games grow the costs to run the boards? As a group of people running boards, you have to be wondering at what point do you run off people with good questions to ask and helpful people to answer because of the number of games and exchanges...

I'm not complaining. I can ignore threads with the best of them. I just find myself looking 3-4 pages down to help people who seem to have a quandry or need help figuring out something. That, to me, is what the Community Board is about.

As a Military wife, I find the military sub-board to be particularly good because I know I can go there and find other military members to answer my question or help them as necessary. But seeing the games stay makes me feel somewhat like our Military are banished to a sub-board with somewhat less important needs than those people who have a game to play.

I suppose it's a matter of opinion. Certainly over the past five years I have had a difference of opinion with many people on the boards. I just wanted to voice my opinion and still vote for moving the games/exchanges...even though you guys seem to have made a decision otherwise.

Actually, I think it's completely the opposite of "banishment". The Military topic was separated into its own sub-forum so that it would be highlighted and not lost in the crush of general Community Board posts.

Then, banish the games you must. For the good of the CB and all of mankind, we must banish the gamers to their own leper colony so they don't infect the rest of us.
