My girlfriend who is bringing four kids to Florida booked her flight 2 months ago through Expedia, she got a Delta flight with prices under $200, for the Presidents week. She has time share that she is going to so her time was not flexible.

She was casually checking on her flight info. when she read "your confirmed flights are unconfirmed", after two emails and no responses she finally sent a third and recieved a note back saying she has been bumped. The end. No compensation. It's now impossible to get flights under $400 which is not an option for 5 tickets. And Expedia is only communicating through internet which is frustrating.

Has anyone gone through this and do you have any advice.
Thanks in advance.

I once encountered a problem with a cancellation fee - it was while Travelscape was merging with Expedia, but here is the number I used to get customer help, I believe it is Expedia now: 800-615-1053, ext. 4115, they called it the customer advocate team.

Good luck

well she apparently went thru a schedule change and to be honest she will go thru another one in jan. has she called DL to see if she still has a ressie? they can pull it up. and tell her what is going on. if they changed it they notify expedia and then expedia is supposed to notify you. she should not have to pay any more money to the carrier or expedia. she bought the tkt and now they have to give her a flight.

Beverly Lynn She was bumped and not given a new flight. She has no ressies. So as of now she has no airplane seats at all, and Expedia offered her no help.

One would think that they have to give her a flight but they have not.

I will give her the 800 number (thanks quietJohn). Maybe she'll get more satisfaction speaking with a human.

Thanks for your help Beverylynn and QuietJohn

I would follow Beverly Lynn's advice. Call the airline directly, do not deal with Expedia. I had a similiar problem with my flights changing and expedia didn't even tell me. When I called them they told me that my flights hadn't changed. I called Contiental, and they looked up my ressie right away, and changed my flights no questions asked, and no addiational fees. Have your friend call the airline and just say she's re-confirming her flights, they'll ask for some info, and then help her, trust me, it's the best way to go.

From your description, it almost sounds as though she never really had an actual reservation to begin with. Did her credit card ever get charged? If so, Delta shouldn't charge her anything more to put her party on another flight. If her credit card hasn't been charged, something must have gone wrong with the booking process and Expedia probably didn't actually make a reservation for her party. If that's what happened, it isn't good news. Let us know how it all works out, OK?

CarolMN makes a good point, it is possible that during the booking process. Someone might have grabbed the last cheap seats on your friends flight, and when Expedia sent the info to DL they came back unconfirmed since they were no longer available. Just another way of looking at things. This has happened to me before while I was booking, luckily I've been fliexible and able to change my flightss.

Her credit was charged, and then fully credited. But I dont' know the time frame that happened. CarolMN, That could be what happened. She'll be calling the 800 number today. I'll let you all know the outcome. Thanks for all of your help.
